I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Generally speaking, by the time you reach the third level of the maze, there is not much useful information left.

On one hand, fewer people reach the third level, so less information gets circulated. On the other hand, everyone consciously keeps the information their team acquires to themselves, or only exchanges it within a small circle of other teams.

After entering the maze, a competitive relationship exists between different teams.

The motivation for entering the maze isn’t solely demon hunting; a more important goal is to find the treasures and mysterious artifacts hidden within.

Almost every so often, stories emerge of individuals finding special artifacts or encountering unique opportunities that enable them to upgrade to new levels.

The entire maze is like a trial ground, possessing a special magic power that accelerates growth. Besides these apparent good news, unreported are numerous adventurers perishing silently without trace.

They may have already become dried skeletons or been expelled by demons, becoming one of the nutrient sources that sustain the maze.

Gauss still mapped out the shortest route.

Although he felt there should be many undiscovered treasures and new species of demons in the third level, he had a map; the maze was too vast to explore entirely without wasting too much time.

It’s better to go straight to the fourth level and find the Fourth Floor Lord before others do.

”Everyone, keep close to the leader and captain, and don’t fall behind.”

”Yes!”

Soon, many figures were swallowed by the endless green.

After arriving at the third level, the probability of encountering elite demons greatly increased, and occasionally a Level 4 or 5 monster appeared. Just at this moment, Gauss even encountered a Commander Level Construct Armor.

They arrived at a hall resembling a chapel environment, where a group of adventurers in front was fighting for their lives.

”Kill all outsiders!”

Construct Armor roared while running.

The sword in its hand easily split a column in the hall in half.

Gauss narrowed his eyes from afar.

Considering it was blocking his path forward, he decisively acted after pondering for a moment, casting [Any Door] to appear beside the helm full of red light, as if a helmet floating in the void beside the armor creature.

Construct Armor is a very special demon. In appearance, it is an animated empty plated armor, possessing a certain degree of intelligence.

Legend has it that to produce them requires a ceremony that sacrifices numerous lives, only then there is a chance to produce one. Although the manufacturing process is difficult, once successful, their loyalty to the creator is rock-solid, even executing the creator’s orders for millennia after their death.

Furthermore, it doesn’t require breathing, eating, or sleeping, making it quite a terrifying demon.

Perhaps due to the exceedingly bloody process, the art of making Construct Armors has been lost, and it can only be found in mazes or rare outdoor ruins.

Gauss flashed beside Construct Armor, and intelligence about it instantly crossed his mind.

”Challenge Level is approximately... Level 7?”

Honestly, such a high-level demon poses negligible threat to Gauss.

His interest was only piqued because of its unique life form and relatively rare occurrence.

”Water Manipulation!”

A sacred blue-gold water flow began to surge around Gauss.

Even though Construct Armor was a bit slow, its combat awareness, as a Commander Level creature, still made it notice Gauss who had flashed to its side, though slightly late.

The helmet gently turned toward Gauss.

But it was too late; prepared Gauss wouldn’t give it time to launch the next attack.

A water flow beside Gauss exploded dramatically, transforming into countless threads resembling water silk, enveloping the surrounding space.

”Buzz, buzz!!”

After the buzzing sound, the network of water threads vibrated several times yet remained in its original state.

Of course, this could be seen within the ordinary view, but anyone with dynamic vision would find that the seemingly static water thread network was just cutting the air too fast, appearing frozen.

In just a second, it could vibrate in place tens to hundreds of times.

Construct Armor barely turned around, raised its sword-wielding arm when the sphere of water lines within two meters of Gauss’s surroundings completely enveloped it.

”Sizzle, sizzle!”

Countless sharp explosive sounds rang out.

For a moment, the few adventurers hiding behind the shelter nearby quickly covered their ears.

Blood trickled from their earlobes.

Clearly, within an extremely short time, the sound waves punctured their eardrums.

They didn’t have time to think, simply hiding behind the shelter obediently.

They had seen a figure appear beside the armor during a fleeting glance, surviving was their greatest fortune, losing hearing seemed insignificant.

As for leaving the shelter to escape, they had no such thought.

Not because they were curious about the battle outside, but due to a lack of courage.

Reason told them that just hearing the sound caused their eardrums to bleed, exposing themselves to the attack’s aftereffects would be even more dangerous.

In fact, their choice was correct.

Nearby, stones were enveloped by shockwaves, shooting out like shrapnel on the battlefield, leaving pits in walls and pillars.

”Commander Level Demon Construct Armor *1 has been slain.”

After the thousands of silk shattered domain attack lasted over ten seconds, a kill notification flashed in front of Gauss’s eyes.
