I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Other than the two who came to greet them, there was no one else; Gauss and his team returned rather discreetly.

After returning to the base, he promptly let the members of the Red Dragon Team, who had long been eager to return home, disband and go back to their respective homes.

Being away for business for over a month, coupled with the inherent danger of the ”business trip,” naturally led to psychological pressure. Now, upon returning home, everyone was eager to reunite with their families.

”Do you have places to stay?”

”If you can’t find a place, you can stay at our base for a few days.”

Gauss directed this at Levin and the others from the Night Owl Squad.

Even though Night Owl Squad’s regular field of activities was Gray Rock Town, this was their first time in the big city of Farlim, yet they still followed Gauss’s team.

After all, adventurers aren’t bound to a typical profession; they don’t need to be rooted in a single place.

”Thank you, Gauss.”

After arranging temporary lodgings for the Night Owl Squad members, Gauss left the Red Dragon Team base.

As for incorporating the Night Owl Squad into the Red Dragon Team, he didn’t have such plans for now, nor did Levin bring it up proactively.

Of course, it wasn’t that Gauss lacked the authority. Due to the subtle influence of his Leader’s Certificate specialty, he had substantial influence within the Red Dragon Team, akin to a one-man show.

Not to mention arranging a few 1st-level professionals, even incorporating dozens of freeloaders wouldn’t face opposition.

However, the Red Dragon Team was gradually getting on the right track.

Unless someone like Luna, who ”brings funding to the group” and possesses strong personal abilities, wants to join, others need to follow procedures, assessing applicants based on multiple dimensions such as strength, age potential, and family background—only suitable candidates are approved for joining.

Gauss and his team hurried to the Gray Wolf’s Fang base.

Upon stepping off the carriage, he arrived at an adventure group’s base resembling that of the Red Dragon Team, where many awaited him at the door.

He surveyed the venue, which had likely been cleaned beforehand; the surroundings appeared tidy.

”Welcome, Captain!”

”Welcome, Captain!”

”...”

Though the former Gray Wolf’s Fang employees on-site mostly hadn’t met Gauss previously, they quickly adapted, immediately addressing him as captain.

Compared to field staff, these base-keeping personnel quickly accepted the change in leadership; working is working, just with a different boss.

Gauss waved his hand.

Led by Luna, Gauss soon toured the entire site.

This place was considerably larger than the Red Dragon Team base. Though in the eyes of established adventure groups, Gray Wolf’s Fang was merely a newcomer, it had been operating for over a decade. Compared to the Red Dragon Team, Gray Wolf’s Fang had seniority.

Now, the site ahead was about to become Red Dragon Team’s property.

However, numerous procedures still needed to be completed beforehand.

Fortunately, Gauss had preserved much evidence with a memory stone at that time, supplemented by Luna and others’ details—adventurer guild personnel soon grasped the situation.

”It seems this deal is almost sealed.”

Ivan, accompanying him, breathed a sigh of relief as he watched the staff hurriedly leave.

Normally, Ivan handled most Red Dragon Team’s connections with the Adventurer’s Guild, so he was relatively familiar with the guild’s personnel.

Perhaps it was his illusion, but Ivan felt the guild’s dispatched staff were always agreeable when handling Red Dragon Team affairs.

”Once the approvals come through, Ivan, along with Luna and others, should manage the handover.”

Merging with the Gray Wolf’s Fang Adventure Group isn’t achieved with a few words. Naturally, Gauss won’t oversee the entire process, delegating the task to his employees instead.

After wandering around a few more times, he returned to the Red Dragon Team base.

This time, upon returning, he needed to digest the gains from this period.

He closed his eyes, sensing the changes in his body.

Judging solely by numbers, his body and spirit now differed vastly from normal humans.

Especially his intelligence attribute; throughout this period, he sensed notably active spiritual power.

With his eyes closed, deep within his mind, he could feel the tangible concentration of spiritual energy.

Initially, this force was rather weak, but as Gauss’s intelligence attribute steadily increased, and he consciously trained himself, this spiritual telekinesis grew stronger.

It now possessed a force equivalent to dozens of kilograms.

Sounds unremarkable; it’s essentially an enhanced version of Mage’s Hand—one consumes spiritual power, while the other consumes magic power.

Yet, in reality, these two forces are incomparable.

Even for the simplest tasks of moving objects, the spiritual telekinesis is leagues ahead of Mage’s Hand in strength.

Spiritual telekinesis is more flexible, allowing Gauss complete control, enabling him to focus explosively on a single point or disperse the power into dozens of streams.

Conversely, Mage’s Hand resembles an aggregated magical hand, with relatively weak power, and its movement pattern closely aligns with the principles of real-world arm movement.

Moreover, the fundamental difference between spiritual telekinesis and Mage’s Hand lies in their essence.
