I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

At the dining table, many people naturally noticed this scene.

Seeing Gauss stand up, many also stood up with him, but he persuaded them to sit down again.

Gauss only allowed the chief steward Ivan to follow.

”Is my sister alright?”

Gauss asked the member of the Red Dragon Team who came to inform him.

”Miss Cicero is unharmed, but several classmates seem to have been injured by her, including a child from the Xavier family. As for other details, I don’t have more information; the academy has notified both families to visit the academy.”

”That’s good.”

Gauss felt relieved upon hearing that his younger sister Cicero was fine.

As long as the person is fine, everything else is minor.

So he leisurely sat in the carriage compartment.

After a period of travel, the carriage stopped in front of an estate.

By now, the night was deep, yet the estate was still brightly lit inside and out.

Upon arriving, he also noticed a few luxury carriages parked not far away.

He glanced at them briefly, then looked away.

”Let’s go see what the situation is.”

Gauss led Ivan and strode inside.

Perhaps due to sensing his extraordinary demeanor, the security at the entrance even forgot to stop him, merely watching as he walked in, and only after he walked dozens of meters did they finally run after him.

Outside the infirmary, the lights were bright.

The Magic Lamps emitted a hazy glow, dispelling the darkness.

The white Luminare flowers hanging in the potted plants on the balustrade shimmered with a silver light like moonlight, looking extremely beautiful.

However, contrary to the serene scenery, a large crowd had gathered here.

The outer circle consisted of students watching the commotion; the academy was residential, and the dormitory was not far from the infirmary, so many students naturally came over voluntarily to see what happened.

Under the corridor outside the infirmary, the most attention was drawn by a noblewoman covering her face with a silk scarf.

She was about thirty-five or thirty-six years old, her face rather unremarkable, yet her brows and eyes carried a persistent bitterness, though she was well-maintained.

She wore a bright red long dress, with the neckline opened just right, revealing a section of white neck, adorned with a string of round sea pearls, each as large as a pinky finger.

On her shoulders loosely rested a silver mink fur stole, her hair pulled up in a high bun with deep brown curls, and a hairpin set with pigeon blood red rubies inserted diagonally.

At this moment, her eyes, lined with exquisite eyeliner, were slightly red.

”My little Samantha has been obedient and charming from a young age, everyone likes her, I can’t even bring myself to hit her, but today... she got injured by some wild girl who appeared out of nowhere.”

”Today’s matter absolutely cannot end like this!”

”Hand the person over to me.”

As she spoke, her bitter gaze glared at Cicero standing beside the teacher.

The dean found her aggressive manner somewhat helpless.

The doctor in the infirmary had already checked; in fact, Samantha and the others were not seriously hurt, just a bit of bleeding, a bandage and a brief rest was all they needed.

Besides, the incident was due to Samantha and her cohorts bullying a commoner classmate. They were not in the right, Cicero was merely standing up for friends.

Originally, the academy didn’t intend to inform the parents, but somehow this Mrs. Xavier learned of it and rushed over.

He had no choice and informed Cicero’s family as well.

If it were regular parents, he would probably have asked them to leave, but this woman bore the Xavier lineage, so he had to show some courtesy, thus patiently explaining on the side.

Yet unexpectedly, the mother was unreasonable, insisting on accountability despite Samantha and the others being unhurt.

”Esteemed Mrs. Xavier, I suggest you calm down first, it would be better not to make a big fuss about this; Cicero’s brother Gauss is about to arrive.”

The dean kindly advised.

In the academy, because Cicero usually dressed rather plainly, except for a few teachers, no one knew her brother was Gauss, but having been the one in charge of welcoming Gauss on admission day, he was naturally aware of Cicero’s identity.

In his view, although Mrs. Xavier’s status was remarkable, Gauss backing Cicero was even more extraordinary; if it came down to it, it was hard to say who would suffer.

Unfortunately, his goodwill went in vain.

Because she seemingly hadn’t heard that name at all.

”Teacher, let me give you an advice, don’t get involved in our Xavier family’s affairs. I am not someone you can provoke.”

Looking at the arrogant woman before him, he felt a surge of frustration.

However, before he could continue speaking further.

A steady sound of footsteps slowly echoed from the other end of the corridor.

The footsteps were neither hurried nor slow, yet seemed to step on a certain rhythm, causing the originally noisy corridor to quiet down a bit.

Even the students watching the commotion instinctively stopped talking, all eyes turned uniformly towards the direction of the sound.

Gauss’s stride was not fast, yet he carried a strong presence. He was still dressed in the deep-colored formal wear from the dinner, the hem lightly fluttering in the night wind, followed by Ivan in a black business suit.

Mrs. Xavier cast her gaze over, first sizing him up and down.

”Brother!”

Upon discovering it was the figure she had longed for, Cicero immediately dashed excitedly from the teacher’s side, hugging Gauss’s waist.
