I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

A few people sat in the carriage going back.

Cicero was still thinking about what had just happened, feeling that she had caused trouble for her brother, and sat on the seat with some anxiety and confusion.

But Gauss noticed the unease on her face and pinched her cheek.

”You did the right thing today, there’s no need to feel guilty about it.”

”Really, brother?”

”But I caused you trouble.”

Cicero lifted her head, her big eyes looking at Gauss.

”As long as you do what you believe is right, I will support you.”

”Can I continue going to the academy?”

”If you want to.”

”Thank you, brother!”

Gauss only smiled.

The carriage drove all the way to the Red Dragon Team’s base, Gauss planned to let Cicero rest here for two days before sending her back to the academy.

However, there were still some matters to instruct Ivan about beforehand.

”I understand, from now on I will assign someone responsible for Miss Cicero’s security issues.”

Despite having warned that Xavier family’s noblewoman, necessary security measures must still be taken.

Coincidentally, he also planned to lecture at the magic academy these days, fulfilling his duties as a guest professor, and could take the chance during the next lecture to discuss with the vice-president of the Magic Academy.

Kieran Xavier, the vice-president of Kalksa Magic Academy, is also a member of the Xavier family.

Moreover, he’s a Level 8 caster, certainly holding a higher status within the family than Joanna Xavier and her husband encountered tonight.

During the few words exchanged, Gauss accurately captured the bravado hiding insecurity beneath the opponent’s arrogant attitude.

Thus the opponent mentioned the Xavier family, using the family’s power to coerce Gauss into yielding, until her husband arrived, she decisively apologized upon hearing her father ordered her to do so.

All this indicated the opponent was nothing but a dispensable role within the Xavier family.

Logically deducing, Gauss suspected the opponent was unlikely to retaliate, but since it involved his own family, Gauss decided to take an extra layer of insurance.

The next day.

Due to Gauss’ advance notice the night before, Kieran Xavier arranged a temporary class for him at Kalksa Magic Academy.

As with previous public lectures, the registration for this lecture was still overwhelmingly full.

This bustling situation was naturally not because of Gauss’ fame, perhaps the first time was influenced by such factors, but after the lecture, experiencing Gauss’ genuine skill in teaching, the students truly acknowledged this new professor not much older than themself.

The class smoothly ended under Gauss’ instruction.

For Gauss now, teaching some low-level casters posed no difficulty, he could easily provide students with targeted explanations and solutions based on his own experience.

Even after the course ended, students were still hounding him with questions.

After answering some questions, Gauss surprisingly encountered Kieran Xavier waiting outside for him, initially planning to find him in his office.

The two went together to the cafeteria for a meal.

At the dining table, as Gauss just mentioned yesterday’s events, unexpectedly Kieran Xavier showed no sign of surprise.

”I knew about this matter last night.”

”You don’t have to worry. The family has already issued a house arrest order to that little Joanna, preventing her from having any sinister thoughts.”

”I should thank you for helping to educate the less promising juniors of the family.”

Kieran’s face was calm, as if speaking about an irrelevant stranger.

”Did you really think the family would stand up for her?”

”I trust your character as the dean, Kieran.” Gauss did not respond directly.

But as he said, he had a few encounters with Kieran, knowing he wasn’t bad-hearted, though he wasn’t as certain about other members of the Xavier family.

Maybe the Xavier family, or Joanna’s side had that kind of protective professional strongman.

Kieran Xavier shook his head with a smile.

”No historical family would make such a foolish mistake.”

”In fact, the reason I knew about it was Joanna’s father voluntarily reported the situation.”

”Hoping that you absolutely won’t have any misunderstandings.”

”If Joanna harbors any ill intentions, you won’t need to act; her family’s elders will be the first to handle it.”

Kieran said softly.

The larger the family, the more ruthless it becomes; not to mention Joanna was merely a gradually declining branch junior, even if his own granddaughter offended Gauss, he would certainly not have the idea of furthering the conflict under such circumstances.

For the family’s rulers, they only value the offspring with excellent talent, while other offspring are merely tools to carry on the family’s bloodline, raised with good care to adulthood, but if they make mistakes that lead to conflict with other strong individuals, the cost must be considered.

If the opponent’s strength isn’t enough, while being arrogant, they wouldn’t mind acting to maintain family dignity, but obviously, Gauss wasn’t such an opponent.

Therefore, even if Gauss didn’t come today, the Xavier family would send Kieran Xavier who had contact with Gauss to explain the situation.

To prevent Gauss from harboring grievances and doubts, it’s necessary to nip the budding conflict at its source.

”That’s good.”
