I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Anyway, it’s to increase the number of monster kills, so who doesn’t count as a kill? Consider it as sharpening the knife in advance for hunting that Extraordinary Centaur.

He has made plans for his future arrangements.

...

”Centaur?”

”Did you say it wrong? Shouldn’t it be goblin?” Faced with Gauss saying he would go out alone, Aaliyah and the others were not unfamiliar.

Gauss was always so energetic that while everyone had just returned from an expedition and was resting, he would utilize his spare time to complete commissions.

Just hearing that this time he had targeted centaurs made Aaliyah and the others a bit puzzled.

For human adventurers, centaurs are not good targets for hunting. Because they move swiftly, are hard to track, and are wanderers in the wilderness, spending most of the year migrating, hardly ever settling down.

Centaurs hadn’t offended Gauss, had they?

As Aaliyah was thinking this, a scene flashed in her mind of rescuing those children in Black Water Town.

Although she didn’t witness the subsequent battle, according to speculation, Gauss must have suffered quite a bit at the hands of that Extraordinary Centaur.

Could it be because of that centaur leader, the king of Black Water Town, that he held a grudge against the centaur race?

Aaliyah glanced at Gauss subtly, seeing his unchanged expression, she was a bit skeptical.

He holds grudges like this?

”That’s right, it’s centaurs.” Gauss nodded.

”Do you want me to go with you?”

”No need, I’m preparing to hunt some ordinary centaurs this time, it’s not dangerous.” Gauss shook his head.

He’s not planning to take anyone along.

His teammates aren’t like him, possessing a body as perverse as that of a top demon race. His teammates need to rest upon returning to town to accumulate energy and strength for the next expedition.

”Then be careful,”

His teammates were used to his ”workaholic” mentality as well.

In the afternoon, the ”Commission Reception Specialist” of the Red Dragon Team returned from the Guild.

Unfortunately, due to the uncertain whereabouts of centaurs, the Guild had no commissions related to centaur hunting.

This is easy to understand, even victims of centaur raids rarely issue commissions because centaurs seldom stay in one place, and by the time it’s posted, the centaur tribe might have roamed hundreds of kilometers away.

Moreover, unless governed by a highly aggressive leader, centaurs generally don’t go out of their way to slaughter and plunder populous towns. Of course, if you happen to come across small merchant caravans and convoys in the wild, these creatures wouldn’t mind initiating a raid.

Fortunately, although there was no commission info, the specialist still gathered the intel Gauss needed.

”Someone said they spotted centaur activity in the western Wind Grassland.”

”Good.”

Gauss didn’t delay, decisively mounted Hephaestus and set off.

The earlier he arrived at the grassland, the higher the chance of encountering them before they departed. Of course, if he didn’t find the centaur tribe, it didn’t matter. Gauss never returned empty-handed, he’d simply search nearby for other monsters to practice on.

That’s how he usually was.

Along the way, if he encountered demons outside of commissions, he’d often clear them out without thinking about not having commission rewards, thus saving energy.

This is also why, despite being an adventurer for only two years, he has accumulated over thirty thousand monster kills.

Monsters wouldn’t crash into his Magic Missiles on their own; it was always him actively seeking them out.
