I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

He knew that Gauss might also know the extremely important conditions for opening the treasure due to the hypnosis just now.

So a confident expression gradually appeared on his face.

That treasure was from a powerful ancient earl’s family, and even a strong person like you would be tempted by it, right?

And as long as you covet the treasure, he must be kept alive.

Otherwise, even if they gather the Treasure Map, it’s useless.

He had already made up his mind; he must endure humiliation and bear the burden for now.

Since that was his ancestral secret treasure, and it must be opened by a descendant personally, maybe there would be means left by the ancestors at the treasure site, and at that time, he might be able to kill the villain in front of him who covets his family’s treasure.

Thinking of that future scene, he couldn’t help but let his mouth slowly curve upward.

He, Felix, would, like the protagonists in those stories, go through countless hardships and eventually gain the power that belongs to him and kill all those who oppose him.

”Squeak!”

Suddenly, a crisp sound rang out.

A moment later, a line of blood appeared on his neck.

He felt as if the world in his vision was spinning, and with a ”thud,” his head seemed to hit something.

”Eh?”

”Why does this headless body look so familiar?”

The moment his consciousness appeared, no more information surfaced because he had already fallen into the eternal dark slumber.

Gauss looked at the four headless bodies, summoned a clay creature to gather them together, and then used Burning Hand to burn them to ashes.

He hated being threatened, especially by such obviously scheming perpetrators; he didn’t want to leave a hidden danger for himself, even though it seemed that Felix wasn’t a threat to him at all now.

It’s better to deal with it sooner.

As for the treasure he used to threaten him, Gauss had to say, Felix might have misunderstood, overestimating the importance of the treasure in Gauss’s heart.

Gauss might have been a bit curious about it, but that was all.

Even if it really couldn’t be opened, so what? Even if there was a real treasure, by the time he gathered the entire map, his strength would have undoubtedly reached another level, making that so-called treasure nothing but an irrelevant trifle.

After disposing of the bodies, Gauss checked the surroundings.

”Let’s go back.”

His body quickly ascended under the effect of the Flying Skill, soaring upward before swiftly flying towards the Red Dragon Team’s camp.

Upon reaching the sky above the camp, he landed beside Levin and the others.

They were currently looking for a place to set up tents, and turning their heads, they saw Gauss appearing beside them.

”It’s done. Those Wanderers indeed intended to murder you.”

”But from now on, you don’t need to worry; they won’t bother you again.”

Upon hearing Gauss casually mention the situation, Levin and Medvedeva exchanged puzzled glances.

They knew that group of Wanderers would be no match for Gauss but this was too quick; Gauss had just left, and in the blink of an eye, he returned to tell them it was resolved.

”By the way, the reason they targeted you has something to do with this Treasure Map.”

”This Treasure Map is related to the ancestors of that Wanderer leader, who has been collecting these fragments. But for now, they haven’t gathered them all.”

Gauss took out the piece of leather Levin had previously purchased and explained.

He truly didn’t place much importance on this so-called Treasure Map.

”Oh, I see.” Levin nodded knowingly. ”In that case, I’ll give this to you, Gauss. Consider it a thanks for saving our lives.”

”Don’t mention it.” Gauss smiled and shook his head.

But he also felt that it was better to keep these leather maps in his own hands; it was hard to say whether they were a blessing or a curse.

Gauss shared some of his speculations with Levin and the others.

”Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing.” Levin said.

They had nearly died once because of this map, and besides, gathering the other fragments wouldn’t be an easy task, so it might as well stay in Gauss’s hands.

After clearing things up, Gauss felt relieved.

The next day.

Gauss’s Red Dragon Team began to enter the swamp area.

Since the teams that went out yesterday had not returned, and the small teams sent afterwards to check the situation were also missing, the Beastman Race in the swamp sensed the danger surrounding them; the entire nest was now on high alert, with multiple layers of Beastman patrols circling around the nest.

Gauss floated in the air, cloaked by a layer of invisibility; perhaps before, he needed to carefully plan to ensure that others could annihilate any fleeing creatures.

But now, after merging the members of Gray Wolf’s Fang into his Red Dragon Team, the team’s strength was not what it used to be.

In the misty swamp, nimble and agile figures swiftly darted through.

”In position!”

”In position!”

Gauss clearly saw the positioning of the team members and waited until everyone reached their designated locations according to plan.

”Move!”

Above the miasma infused with special magic power, a giant sun was slowly descending, rapidly evaporating the moisture in the air, causing the temperature to rise sharply.
