I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Its body began to tremble.

This wasn’t fear, but excitement.

If it could capture him, it would definitely get more rewards from the queen.

Without continuing the conversation, it turned around and grabbed the giant bow hanging behind it.

Then it pulled an arrow from the quiver hung on the side of its horse body.

Its eyes were tightly fixed on Gauss in the sky.

In just an instant, Gauss felt a chill on his back.

”So strong!”

He could be absolutely sure that the target giving him such intense pressure had to be an Extraordinary Demon.

”Tier Two Ghost Transformation!”

He hesitated not at all.

Gauss activated his Ghost Transformation Talent to enhance mobility.

A pair of horns emerged from his forehead, and his whole body was entwined in swirling black and white Ghost Energy.

Also, under the blessing of this Ghost Energy, he felt his Flying Skill was becoming even swifter.

However, it still wasn’t secure enough.

He concentrated, and soon the Ghost Energy behind him condensed into a pair of wings.

He didn’t simultaneously activate the Dragon Species Possession mode; the enhancement from the Dragon Species focused on destructive power and strength, which didn’t greatly complement speed and agility.

Moreover, given that he was now at the center of the monster’s lair, he needed to conserve more Physical Strength.

His gaze was fixed tightly on the centaur who had already readied its bow and arrow.

”Swoosh!”

A two-meter plus long arrow ripped through the air.

The speed of this arrow left a scorching white streak in the air.

To call it an arrow would be an understatement—more like a projectile capable of shattering mountains and rocks!

Even the surrounding air seemed to freeze from this arrow.

The air became exceptionally heavy.

Any object in the direction of this arrow’s trajectory couldn’t easily escape its lock.

And in Gauss’s eyes, time seemed to slow down.

He had never focused as intensely.

”Flying Skill””Acceleration Skill”

Activated almost simultaneously.

The wings formed by Tier Two Ghost Transformation flapped explosively, providing astonishing thrust.

His body cut through the heavy, water-like air.

In less than a tenth of a second, he appeared thirty to forty meters away.

”Boom!”

Blood flowed from his ears.

The sonic boom from the arrow tearing the air instantly shattered his eardrums.

However, the bleeding in his ears soon stopped.

The buzz faded, and his hearing quickly returned.

The powerful self-healing ability repaired his eardrums in an extremely short time.

The centaur, noticing Gauss had dodged the arrow, showed a hint of confusion on its face.

As if puzzled that the seemingly undeniable arrow had been avoided.

Gauss glanced in the direction of Aaliyah and the others, estimating that they should have rescued the person by now.

”Magic Missile!”

A storm of Magic Missiles was launched, pouring down.

Some missiles hit the centaur, unable to penetrate its defenses, but those falling into a cluster of monsters caused significant damage.

And just as the centaur was preparing to notch another arrow.

Gauss glanced at the centaur, and with a flap of his wings, he flew in the opposite direction of where he came from.

This centaur’s power was rather terrifying; he speculated it might be Level 12 or even stronger, impossible to match head-on!

A blood-colored Domain slowly formed around it.

Gauss had no doubt that if it were close combat, he’d struggle to withstand even one strike from it.

The seven to eight-meter long spear was clearly its main weapon.

Fortunately, it seemed unable to fly.

This provided him space to pull away.

Seeing Gauss wasn’t inclined to continue fighting but instead was swiftly flying away, the centaur frowned, then picked up the spear at its side.

It moved its hooves, pursuing in Gauss’s flight path.

”Boom!”

The building in front of it was as fragile as paper, collapsing at a charge.

Dozens, hundreds of monsters perished under its trampling, while its focus remained solely on Gauss.

Meanwhile, three dragons in the sky, noticing the commotion in the town, began to fly in rapidly.

Forming a siege, flying towards Gauss.

Gauss was fast, but the centaur below was equally speedy.

Hearing the earth-shaking rumble, Gauss didn’t dare slow down for even a moment.

Simultaneously, his peripheral vision caught sight of the dragons overhead.

The strength of these dragons was already somewhat inadequate for him now.

But to kill them would indeed require some effort, and more importantly, there was the relentless pursuit from the centaur below.

Its range was quite extensive.

More flying units from other areas were closing in for encirclement.

”Need to retreat.”

Gauss knew he couldn’t afford to be delayed.

Even a few seconds’ delay would quickly get him entangled by more flying units, which would be problematic.

He had successfully drawn the centaur out of the town for more than two minutes, a sufficient enough time for Aaliyah and the others to retreat from another direction.

”Arbitrary Door!”

Without further intention to pull away by flying.

A blue glow flickered on Gauss’s body.

In the next moment, his body abruptly vanished into the air.

”Bang!”

A dragon initially swooped towards him, losing its target unexpectedly, collided with another dragon.

”Disappeared?”

The centaur immediately turned its head, surveying the surroundings.

Its incredibly sharp eyes seemed to capture abnormal movements around, but to its disappointment, aside from monsters, no human figures were visible anymore.

Truly vanished...

”Find that human!”

Upon hearing its roar, the flying monsters scattered swiftly, conducting more intensive searches in all directions.

Meanwhile, on Gauss’s side.

His body continued to flicker.

The maximum range for his Arbitrary Door teleportation was roughly three hundred meters; the farther the distance, the more Magic Power was consumed significantly.

His first teleportation moved him from high above to the ground, and then, taking advantage of the moment the opponent’s attention was fixed on the airspace, he activated it again successively, second, third, fourth...

With repeated use, Gauss employed the maximum distance of Arbitrary Door eight or nine times, consuming massive Mana, and depleting his Magic Power entirely, even some Power of Feast used up.

Only after completely vanishing from the opponent’s sight did he dare slow down for a rest.

Teleportation’s primary advantage over flying is the lack of movement trajectory, thus increasing the probability of avoiding locks.

”Phew...”

Listening to the roaring cries overhead.

Gauss, now within the river, avoided blindly continuing to teleport, opting to dive toward the riverbed.

Having received blessings from Mercury, he possessed the ability to breathe underwater.

Coupled with mastering the ability [Swimming], he soon became like an agile fish, swiftly drifting downstream in the river toward the direction away from Black Water Town.

”Mutant centaur, I will remember you.”

Once his strength is adequate, he will seek out the opponent again, believing that day won’t be too far.

In a predetermined location.

The shadows coalesced into several figures.

”Safe now.”

Ying breathed heavily.

Two pale-skinned children anxiously hid behind Gron.

”I wonder if Gauss has successfully escaped.” Aaliyah appeared anxious.

They had heard the terrifying noises loud and clear.

Most of the town was shaking.

They waited in place for several minutes, and just when their spirits were sinking, blue light suddenly flickered before them.

”I’m back.”

Hearing the familiar voice, the heavy stones in Aaliyah and the others’ hearts finally fell.
