I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

”Pardon my intrusiveness.”

”Allow me to introduce myself. I am Wolf, the leader of the Gray Wolf’s Fang Adventurer Group from Farlim.”

”This is my deputy leader, Luna.”

”Hello, Leader Wolf, Deputy Leader Luna.” Gauss greeted them with a normal expression.

So, it turns out they’re an adventure group from Farlim as well.

He recalled the wolf banner he saw at the gate upon arriving in Gray Rock Town a few days ago; that was evidently their team.

Once he figured this out, Gauss slightly lowered his guard.

”This is my hometown.”

Strictly speaking, saying that Gray Rock Town is his hometown is not wrong.

Originally, this body’s former owner was from Stone Creek Village, not the town itself. However, since Stone Creek Village is a remote village under Gray Rock Town’s jurisdiction, and many villagers around the area originated from Gray Rock Town, he could be considered half a Gray Rock Town person.

”What a coincidence.”

Obviously, Leader Wolf of the Gray Wolf’s Fang only knew of a person named Gauss but wasn’t very familiar with his background.

He looked more attentively at the teammates beside Gauss.

After a simple assessment, he naturally wouldn’t think that Gauss travelled this far back to his hometown just to relax, and it’s clear he’s here with a mission.

Around this area, the only place worthy of a full-scale adventure group’s operation should be the Black Water Town region.

”I’ve heard of you and your group’s reputation in Farlim, Leader Gauss, and today, upon meeting you, it truly lives up to it. Coincidentally, our Gray Wolf’s Fang is also planning to explore the Black Water Town region. If your group’s destination is also Black Water Town, perhaps we might have the opportunity to collaborate.”

Wolf smiled and extended his hand.

”You’re too kind. Black Water Town is very dangerous right now, so it would be good to look out for each other.” Gauss gently shook his hand.

”Then, see you at Black Water Town.”

After a brief exchange, the two groups merged into different streets.

As they walked farther away, the pink-haired girl, Luna, who hadn’t spoken until now, finally opened her mouth.

”Is that Gauss? He seems to be just a pretty face, doesn’t look particularly special.” She seemed puzzled as to why Leader Wolf had gone out of his way to strike up a conversation on the street.

”No, he’s very strong.” Wolf’s expression became quite serious as he corrected her.

”Really strong? Stronger than you?” Luna asked, confused.

”Hard to say.” Wolf shook his head.

Warriors often have excellent intuition at close range.

During those few words of exchange just now, although on the surface he didn’t perceive any threat from the other party, the conversation felt like a gentle breeze; deep down, however, he had a persistent feeling of tension.

He trusted his subconscious instincts very much.

So, the earlier contact actually indicated that the other party’s power was incredibly formidable.

Moreover, possibly the type of opponent he hated encountering the most—mysterious and terrifying.

Fortunately, they were colleagues, not enemies.

”Perhaps in Black Water Town, we might even have the opportunity to fight side by side.”

Relationships between adventurers are complex, being both competitors and sometimes reliable allies.

Especially in places like Black Water Town, which has been occupied by demons, human cooperation is needed even more.

...

Meanwhile, Gauss and his team, having walked away, were also discussing Wolf just now.

Albena was curious about his exact strength, but Gauss couldn’t really figure it out either.

If it were a Caster, he could at least use some special perception methods to detect something, but facing a warrior who suppressed his edge, unless it was a formal battle, he couldn’t accurately assess the specific strength level.

He could only vaguely sense that the other party was an expert.

However, one thing is certain, which is that the other party’s profession level is definitely higher than his, because very few adventure group leaders in Farlim would be of a lower level than him.

If there were, he would only suspect that they had connections.

The group turned into a street, exchanged a few words with Sofia from the inn at the corner, and continued walking into the deeper alleys.

In front of his own courtyard wall, Gauss saw a somewhat familiar burly figure.

Once he saw the person’s face clearly, a slight expression of surprise appeared on his face.
