I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

”Keep moving forward!”

Looking at the gazes from her teammates, she gritted her teeth and suppressed the unease in her heart.

If they were truly trapped, she was prepared to sacrifice herself to give the loyal band of team veterans time to escape.

Just as her mind was a tangled mess, she suddenly saw a red flag in front of her.

”That is...”

Her eyes narrowed slightly.

It’s an adventure group.

Encountering an adventure group again this time wasn’t accidental, as she had been forced to hide and dodge in the vast area around Black Water Town.

In truth, during the past few days of fleeing in the Black Water Town area, she hadn’t refrained from meeting other adventure groups and adventurers, but she never considered asking for help.

Because she knew every organization prioritized their self-interest.

If she approached other adventure groups for help, the likely outcome would be them capturing the group and bartering it with Gray Wolf’s Fang under Fisher’s control for some benefits.

Capturing them and handing them over would earn the friendship of the leader of a powerful adventure group and substantial material rewards. Choosing to protect them would mean a war between adventure groups, even if victory ensued, there would be significant losses.

Anyone would know how to choose.

Without relevant interests, there aren’t many champions of justice.

Yet, the flag in her view evoked some memories.

If she remembered correctly, that should be the Red Dragon Team?

Thinking of Fisher’s apparent schemes concerning Gauss, she fell into contemplation.

After some consideration, she eventually chose not to circle around like before, but led her teammates to swiftly approach.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Even though she had only met Gauss once, an enemy’s enemy is a friend.

If she could persuade the other party, perhaps they might survive.

After all, Gauss was considered a strong figure by Wolf.

She knew Wolf had high standards, even in Farlim, he didn’t give high praise to the leaders of similarly-sized adventure groups.

Although her understanding of Gauss was limited, knowing only that he was a Level 7 Caster, wielding strong magic power, a rising star in Farlim, she chose to trust Wolf’s judgment beyond that.

”Halt! This is the Red Dragon Team’s temporary base, who are you?”

Just as they were about to approach the village, a shadow abruptly condensed from the ground, and once the shadows dispersed, a tall and beautiful woman appeared before them.

The woman maintained a safe distance, neither too close nor too far.

”We are...”

Just as she desperately wanted to introduce herself, a figure gently descended from the sky.

”You must be members of Gray Wolf’s Fang, right?”

The newcomer was Gauss; his memory was sharp, recognizing the identity of the beleaguered female leader before him with a glance. Previously, in Gray Rock Town, she was standing beside Gray Wolf’s Fang leader, Wolf, indicating that she was an important member.

He assessed the injuries on the other party, feeling some suspicion arise in his mind.

Did they encounter some mishap?

Although Gray Wolf’s Fang leader’s strength wasn’t as good as his, the overall team’s strength was quite outstanding. Having briefly met them, he specifically inquired afterward.

Gray Wolf’s Fang counts as an old adventure group in Farlim, hosting numerous Master-level Professionals and dozens of Elite Professionals.

”Yes, Captain Gauss.”

”We seek your protection!”

For some reason, upon seeing the man in front of her, the anxiety in her heart suddenly calmed considerably.

There seemed to be a special charm about him — calm, serene, and unflappable.
