I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Gauss didn’t think much of Aaliyah’s request.

She probably just felt curious about the Magic academy and wanted to take a look.

”Next time I go to teach, I’ll call you, if you still have time then.”

”Okay.”

Gauss looked at Aaliyah.

After breaking through to level 5, her appearance seemed to have changed again.

Although her features were still fundamentally the same, they seemed to have been slightly optimized, moving a step closer to the characteristics of an ”Elf.”

If every level up brings some change, then after a few more levels, she might be indistinguishable from a true pure-blood Elf.

Thinking of this, Gauss couldn’t help but feel a bit envious.

Unlike humans, Elves are a long-lived species.

Pure-blood High Elves can break through a lifespan of a thousand years without seeking any special means, and Gauss has even read stories about Elves living for tens of thousands of years.

I wonder what my lifespan is now?

Gauss wasn’t at the age to worry about this yet, but he was somewhat curious.

He felt his lifespan should have surpassed the normal human limit, given how strong his body is, and the life energy within him is like that of a monster, living one or two hundred years shouldn’t be an issue?

As he continues to break levels, various racial talent abilities continue to strengthen, his lifespan will definitely increase further.

”By the way, how much money do you have on you? I can allocate some to you from the accounts.”

”I probably have more than twenty Gold Coins in change on me, why suddenly give me money?” Aaliyah looked confused.

She was surprised by the ”high salary” of Gauss’s teaching position earlier, but that was somewhat a gesture of ”support,” she didn’t actually have much need for money.

After all, when she needs money, she can always ask Gauss, who wouldn’t withhold it from her. Just like recently, purchasing magical plant transplants into the dream and researching magical plant experiments, nearly two hundred Gold Coins were invested into it.

”To purchase magic spells, you’ve broken through to level 5, it’s time to buy some 3rd-level Druid spells to learn.”

Gauss looked at Aaliyah’s ”dazed” expression and helplessly sighed, enlightening her.

He didn’t expect Aaliyah to be so unconcerned about her own ”cultivation.”

Initially, he thought Aaliyah was embarrassed to ask for money, but it turned out she had a heart so carefree she forgot about it.

Fortunately, she had him.

”Huh?”

Aaliyah shook her head.

”Spells?”

”I don’t need them. After breaking through, two 3rd-level spells naturally appeared, probably as a reward from the Lady of Moonlight for my continuous transplantation of magical plants into the dream.”

”Just like how Gauss awakened his magical abilities from an ancestral return of bloodlines.”

Aaliyah, being the most experienced in the team, was aware of the spells Gauss would occasionally receive.

In this world, apart from the regular self-learning, there are a few alternative ways to acquire spells and skills, such as bloodline inheritance, enlightenment, special contracts, forbidden surgeries, relics of inheritance, divine blessings, and some special ceremonies, but ordinary people rarely have the opportunity to access these methods, so they might as well not exist.

”...”

Gauss felt embarrassed.

Is this the benefit of having someone in power above you?

It seems like the existence of the suspected deity behind Aaliyah is quite generous, helping her awaken her ancestral Elf bloodline and bestowing spells.

This is good, having such exclusive skills bestowed saved Gauss some money.

Moreover, the stronger Aaliyah becomes, the stronger he becomes too.

Because Aaliyah’s kill count can be shared on his Monster Atlas.

In other words, the suspected deity behind Aaliyah is actually giving him benefits.

”So, what spells did you receive?”

Facing Gauss’s curious inquiry, Aaliyah didn’t have any intention of hiding and said directly.

”Moonlight Vine and Flowers of Defense.”

”Moonlight Vine will form 3-5 vines around me, they can be controlled by me or attack enemies autonomously.”

As Aaliyah spoke, she demonstrated.

Silver moonlight slowly emerged around her, after a while, three vines resembling tails grew from her lower back.

It was visible that she was still in an unskilled stage having just mastered this spell.

Moonlight Vine pressed against the ground, gently lifting her body from the chair.

Gauss was not deceived by its beautiful exterior, he could sense its intense internal energy through its radiant appearance.

A typical creature that gets hit by it would probably be sent instantly to the afterlife.

A beautiful yet deadly attack spell.

And it also seems to function well as a ”mobility tool.”

For a 3rd-level spell, it’s already quite comprehensive.

The only drawback might be its lack of long-range attack ability.

Its range of effect is only a few meters around.

”As for Flowers of Defense.”

Aaliyah closed her eyes, internally mobilizing life energy akin to moonlight.

She failed several times before finally succeeding.

As she opened her blue eyes, white pink petals gradually formed, creating small shields of petals around her.

”It can defend against external attacks, and when it breaks, it will heal the one protected.”
