I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Time passed without knowing how long.

When Gauss opened his eyes in the slightly dim cultivation chamber, he knew his breakthrough was complete.

The breakthrough wasn’t strenuous; instead, for him, it felt as natural as a dream, waking up refreshed from a good night’s sleep.

He stood up from the ground.

Soon, his body erupted with a burst of crackling sounds, akin to a mighty dragon awakening within him.

”So comfortable.”

He flexed his limbs, sensing the surging power within.

For professionals, every level breakthrough is a form of metamorphosis and evolution, the distinction lying in whether this ”metamorphosis” is significant or minor.

Different people experience varying improvements, with different directions. Even for the same person, the extent of enhancement varies at different level breakthroughs.

In Gauss’s perception, the improvement he gained this time wasn’t as pronounced as when he broke through from level 5 to level 6.

Back then, he gained a total increase of 7 points in attributes.

Moreover, all attributes felt unified, making his entire physique more ”complete.”

Although this upgrade wasn’t as apparent as from level 5 to 6, it still significantly boosted his strength.

”Main profession Magic Envoy level increased to: 7”

”Sub profession Soul Sword level increased to: 5”

Both main and sub professions each gained one level.

”Agility +1”

”Intelligence +1”

”Perception +1”

This level increase brought an additional point to agility, intelligence, and perception attributes respectively.

After adding the points, his attribute panel reached the following values.

Strength: 15

Agility: 14→15

Constitution: 16

Intelligence: 17→18

Perception: 14→15

Charm: 15

A rather lavish panel.

All attributes broke through 15.

The highest value, intelligence, has reached a full 18 points.

With this intelligence attribute, he reasonably suspects, even those extraordinary casters might not be higher than him.

Furthermore, he has a vague premonition.

When the intelligence attribute surpasses 20 points, it seems there will be some special changes.

However, even now, 18 points in intelligence is already quite formidable.

Of course, he’s not arrogant.

He recalls the feeling of wholeness when he broke through from elite stage to master stage.

It seems that different stages can’t be solely assessed by attribute values.

Beyond attributes, there’s some form of integrated force of another dimension.

And that’s why professionals exhibit vastly different strengths between different ”stages.”

He recalls his brief combat experience with that extraordinary Dragon Priest of Dragon Worship Sect, when she seemed surrounded by an extremely special field energy.

Later, he inquired about that power from the Tiefling Paladin who saved him.

That was the power belonging to extraordinary professionals’ ”field prototype.”

The gap between extraordinary and non-extraordinary strengths is far larger compared to the gap between master and elite professionals.

Even the gap among different extraordinary professionals is chasm-like.

The biggest gap between him and extraordinary professionals now lies in that ”field prototype.”

However, he also possesses his own distinct advantage.

That is his near ”Hexagon Warrior” barrel-like attribute panel, with almost no weaknesses in physical and mental functions.

Moreover, he possesses numerous professional specializations and racial talents.

Even extraordinary professionals able to break through often have their secrets and talents, but they surely aren’t as powerful as his talents.

He clenched his fist, feeling the explosive power throughout his body.

He slightly lifted the corner of his mouth.

Level 7 Magic Envoy, high attribute values, 3 types of purple-quality talents, Demonic Hour, Tier Two Ghost Transformation, and dragon species, commanding multiple and more types of magic.....

Now he should be able to go head-to-head with the weakest tier of extraordinary professionals, right?

According to the Tiefling Paladin Pleos, Cecilia, the extraordinary Dragon Priest, is the weakest tier among extraordinary casters, barely crossing the extraordinary threshold.

She should have used some special means to break through to level 11 forcibly.

But in doing so, she completely overdrew her already limited potential; barring unexpected circumstances, her peak strength in life is level 11, and once her physical functions wane, her strength will rapidly decline.

However, extraordinary remains extraordinary.

If she hadn’t been overly ambitious at the time and tried to capture Gauss alive, she could easily have killed him.

It wouldn’t have led to her carelessly being disarmed by a fully unleashed Gauss.

Even so, the real victor was the opponent; if Pleos hadn’t arrived later, he would’ve been dead.

Gauss analyzes, suspecting she intended to capture him alive to further research the dragon bloodline on him and obtain the power for further breakthroughs, otherwise, she wouldn’t have been so restrained, allowing him to delay long enough for Pleos to assist.

Thus, ultimately, she died due to her greed.

Always be cautious, even if a lion hunts a rabbit, it uses full force.

Gauss reminds himself never to grow complacent just because he has become stronger.

But returning to strength, he feels now facing Cecilia, he should be able to fight her and win.

Therefore, his current ”hard strength” should officially reach the extraordinary stage, rather than the previous ”quasi-extraordinary stage.”

He is now capable of facing opponents like Cecilia, even possibly burst to strike them down, but against a higher tier, with stronger field prototype extraordinary professionals, it’s best to avoid battle; his hard strength should be inferior to theirs.
