I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Regarding the selection criteria for ordinary members of the Red Dragon Team, besides work ability, he values character more.

Speaking from the adventurer’s perspective, these people are clearly not outstanding; otherwise, they wouldn’t still be struggling at the bottom adventurer level after ten years, but they have rich experience and are quite honest and sincere. Furthermore, they are locals and have families in the city.

The employees he hires are basically all locals, the kind whose families live in Farlim.

Gauss’s gaze quickly scanned the commission papers.

He quickly memorized the contents, especially the specific map addresses of each commission.

Overall, the problem is not significant.

They accepted dozens of commissions in a row, all in the same area, meeting Gauss’s requirements.

”You should all get ready.”

”Yes.”

Gauss called his squad to start assembling.

”Finally getting to work.”

Aaliyah stretched lazily.

Having had no outside commissions for many days, she felt a bit out of place, but there was no other way. She had to stay in the base these days to keep an eye on the progress of the project, unlike Gauss, the laissez-faire manager who was out every other day.

Her gaze towards Gauss was full of unspeakable resentment.

Gauss pretended not to understand the meaning of her gaze.

Hephaestus flapped his wings and landed on the base’s square.

In these days, he also conveniently opened up ”flight permissions” for himself, Aik, and Hephaestus.

Currently, the airspace around the Red Dragon Team’s base and the route from here to the city walls are no longer restricted by the anti-flight magic array.

Most of the areas outside the city have also been released from restrictions, making it much easier to enter and exit Farlim now.

”Then let’s set off.”

The Red Dragon slowly flapped its wings.

Soon, amidst the astonished gazes of the ordinary members of the Red Dragon Team, it took off into the sky, flying over the city walls and disappearing from sight.

Gauss recalled in his mind the addresses on the stack of commission papers he had just seen.

Even though it was only a few seconds earlier, he had already imprinted all the locations on his mental map and planned a route based on all the information.

The first commission location was at a village outside Farlim.

Such small villages and towns were scattered around the vicinity.

”A Goblin Tribe threatening the village, numbering about 50?”

It can be said that even the worst adventure group would not look at this meager reward, but Gauss was different; he did not mind.

As the saying goes, a little becomes a lot; this kind of commission itself carries no risk, and with his strong mobility, he can complete many in one trip, which adds up to a significant gain.

Flying over the village.

Gauss had no intention of landing to communicate with the villagers.

This is also the benefit of establishing an adventure group, especially townships within the vicinity of Farlim, where he only needs to submit the commission voucher without requiring villagers’ signature confirmation.

”Biological Positioning Skill-Goblin”

Gauss instructed Hephaestus to lower the flight altitude over a forest area and then released the biological positioning skill.

An invisible energy ripple spread around him like waves.

In the forest, the goblins who were resting suddenly felt a wave of unease.

They instinctively sensed the air around them seemed to change, as if some terrifying creature had descended.

”Waa waa!”

The goblins communicated with each other, then grabbed the weapons beside them and looked around the forest warily.

”Thud thud thud!”

At the moment of their panic and anxiety.

Several unusual presences suddenly descended from the sky.

”Yaa!”

They didn’t expect the slaughter to come so swiftly.

Two shadows darted among the tribe like assassins; every move took away one or two lives of their kin.

Besides this, they were terrified to discover that some unfamiliar strong ”kind” were also attacking them.

By the time they realized they needed to flee, the entire tribe had been slaughtered down to just a few.

As the shadow raised its knife, the remaining last few saplings also died in terror.

A 50-goblin-sized Goblin Tribe was massacred within just a few dozen seconds.

Hephaestus in the sky carried everyone down.

After Gauss used the biological positioning skill again to confirm no survivors were left, he organized everyone to scour the site.

In public, he seemed glorious, yet the Red Dragon Team only had three hundred gold coins left, and now was the time to urgently replenish the small treasury.

Moreover, the Red Dragon Team can now maximally digest these gains.

So...

Pack everything and take it away.

Gauss put everything into the storage pouch.

The pharmacists, sorters, and appraisers hired at the base were there to handle these assorted spoils of war.

In the adventurer squad days, such a commission would bring in a comprehensive income of 1-2 gold coins. Now, with his team, the income could potentially double, reaching a few gold coins.

Iron hoes, rusted swords, arrows, take everything...

Including the goblins’ corpses, parts of their organs, when specially processed, could also serve as certain potions’ materials.

After sweeping the campsite clean, Gauss and his team immediately hopped onto the dragon’s back and headed to the second commission location.

Subsequently, the similar process was repeated.

Arriving at the target, precisely locating enemies with positioning skill, sending the enemies on their way, scouring and packaging spoils of war, and clearing out before moving to the next site.

Their efficiency was extremely high, having processed ten or so commissions by the morning.

Besides them working, another team member was not idle either.

That was Raven Aik.

It continuously carried storage pouches, commuting between Farlim.

Once landing at the Farlim Red Dragon base, it handed over the supplies to the steward Ivan.

He was a warlock doubling as a pharmacist, his potion-making skills were quite good.

Logically speaking, Gauss shouldn’t have recruited such composite talents in just a week, since the agency he commissioned was quite low-end, the recruits were just to fill basic positions.

But this pharmacist sought him out on his own.

Initially, when Gauss heard about it, he pondered why this person was being so proactive, wondering if there was some catch, but once they met, he quickly understood the reason for this person’s enthusiasm.

He was a warlock with thin dragon veins.

Upon hearing the Red Dragon Team had a ”Red Dragon,” he came to confirm its authenticity.

However, after meeting Gauss, his attention quickly shifted from the Red Dragon to this young captain.

Even though Gauss felt the gaze directed at him was somewhat fervent, after carefully perceiving, he did not sense any abnormality from him, so he kept this ”fanboy” who voluntarily came knocking.

After receiving the supplies from the storage pouch, Ivan quickly handed the empty pouch back to Raven Aik.

He turned to see the previously empty warehouse now filled with various supplies and weapons and corpses, his eyes couldn’t help but reveal a hint of admiration.

Could this be the man capable of conquering a Giant Dragon?

Indeed, he was terrifyingly strong.

He couldn’t help but recall the scene from a few days prior when he met Gauss.

The man looked exceptionally handsome, yet radiated a familiar and strange oppressive aura, making him subconsciously weak in the knees, wanting to kneel down.

In his moment of lost strength, it was the other who supported him, preventing him from embarrassing himself in front of the many interviewees.

He realized that the power of bloodline suppression indicated an absolute advantage of the other’s dragon lineage over his.

Even as he felt, seeing the fierce and ferocious Red Dragon Beast later didn’t bring as much impact as the captain did.

Could a human’s dragon beast lineage be purer than a dragon beast’s? Is that possible?

Ivan couldn’t help but shake his head.

Before coming, he had learned about many exaggerated pieces of information regarding Gauss through his channels, all sounding so implausible they appeared false.

Perhaps this was the magical aspect of the captain.

After spending time together, he became increasingly clear on just how terrifying the power hidden in that seemingly slender body was.

If the element of bloodline just made his body instinctively feel close, then subsequent understanding of Gauss solidified Ivan’s resolve to plant roots within the Red Dragon Team.

The captain’s future was so bright, it was blinding.

”Get moving quickly!”

Thinking of this, he hurriedly commanded others to start processing this batch of materials.

For now, being a veteran allows him to have a place, and as the Red Dragon Team continues to grow, there will only be more and more members. He must seize this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, to keep pace closely with the captain.
