I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

”Do the final checks!”

In front of the long line of convoy, Steward Ivan was loudly instructing his subordinates.

Beside him, a young apprentice was holding a booklet, checking the supplies item by item.

This was actually not his first time checking.

But after all, this was the first large-scale siege since the establishment of the Red Dragon Team, so a detailed inspection before departure was not excessive.

Once in the wild, some supplies that seem very easy to obtain in the city can become a hundred times more difficult to acquire if lacking.

”Why do you want to take so many people out this time?”

Aaliyah asked.

”After all, it’s a large goblin nest with nearly two thousand goblins. If we rely on Aik for transport like last time, it will take forever, not to mention this location isn’t as close as last time.”

”Why not organize a convoy to follow along, it also helps them practice.”

Gauss said as he looked at the convoy.

After listening, the others didn’t say much more.

However, the external squad that was about to join Gauss and others for the outing was clearly not as calm.

Debbie looked at the old teammate Donovan beside her who was trembling slightly, and patted his shoulder.

”Hey Donovan, are you afraid?”

”Don’t... don’t be ridiculous!” Donovan took a deep breath and rubbed his cheeks.

Then he glanced around and, noticing no one was watching him, lowered his voice to ask her.

”Does it look that obvious?”

”Haha, relax.” Debbie chuckled softly.

”How can I not be nervous, these are two thousand goblins.” Donovan muttered to himself softly.

Although he had more than 10 years of experience as an adventurer, he had never encountered an enemy of this scale.

The most was about thirty goblins, and that was while cooperating with another squad.

Moreover, the experience wasn’t exactly smooth, making him more cautious in taking on commissions afterward.

This time it was two thousand, which was about sixty times more.

As is well known, no matter what type of monster nest, the threat it poses grows explosively with the increase in the number of monsters.

1-2 goblins could be killed by his own strength, but if it’s 4-5 at once, he would be the one getting killed.

More than 20 goblins could wipe out most bottom adventurer squads.

Over 100 goblins could threaten a village.

These 2000 goblins were beyond his comprehension, and he believed that some poorly defended towns might be overwhelmed by them.

He turned to look at his companions.

The convoy of dozens of people consisted mostly of logistics personnel.

He and some riders obviously wouldn’t be able to participate in such a level of battle.

In other words, it would solely rely on the strength of the few leaders?

Thinking of this, he couldn’t help but shake his head.

He certainly knew that the leader’s strength was formidable. After all, those who could establish an adventure group were not ordinary people, but relying solely on them to eradicate a large-scale goblin nest is perhaps overconfident?

Especially since he had the chance to listen in when the commission was taken yesterday.

He vaguely heard that even the leader seemed to be accepting such a large-scale nest extermination commission for the first time.

”What are you afraid of, even if the sky falls, the leader will hold it up, right?”

Compared to the worried Donovan, Debbie seemed very carefree.

”Let’s hope so.” Donovan swallowed hard.

It’s not unreasonable for him to question the leader’s decision, it’s just that the enemy this time seemed too strong. One slip, and they might all be wiped out.

His gaze quietly turned to the leader and others, who were chatting and laughing in the distance, silently praying in his heart.

”Leader, please bring us back safely.”

He certainly didn’t want to die.

...

”Clop clop—”

The sturdy hooves of the beast stepped on the ground.

This convoy had left Farlim, heading towards the mission target.

”Lord Gauss, try this on quickly.”

Albena eagerly handed the mithril light armor to Gauss.

She had been crafting this piece of equipment for some time, and the delay was because she later commissioned the city’s Alchemist to inscribe some magical effects on it. Just before departure, she finally completed this armor.

Gauss sat in the luxurious carriage, taking the equipment from her hands.

It was worthy of being a special piece of equipment augmented with mithril.

In his hands, it felt much lighter than regular armor, but its protective ability was enhanced by countless times.

Appearance-wise, this light armor was flawless.

The noontime sunlight streaming through the carriage window shone on the mithril light armor, casting a sacred-like sheen on its surface.

It felt cool to the touch but not cold.

The armor plates were thin and tough, with joints linked by supple magic-infused leather. Moving his hands around produced almost no metallic scraping noise.

The helmet seemed specially designed for Gauss, resembling a dragon’s head, with two small forward-curving horns on the forehead area.

Overall, it was very beautiful.

”Thank you, Albena.”

”I really like it.”

Gauss employed a changing-gear magic to envelop himself in the mithril light armor and completed the binding shortly after.

With a mere thought, the armor appeared on his body.

He moved his limbs and felt no restriction whatsoever.

Power and burst seemed to have received certain enhancements.
