I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Feather Pen Avenue.

”Huh?”

”Since when did two new shops open up here?”

”And there’s a lottery, with the first prize being a full set of plated armor worth 20 Gold Coins.”

”There are also a lot of Magical potions in the prizes.”

”You can enter the lottery just by shopping, the more you spend, the more chances you get.”

”Bas, let’s go in and take a look, maybe we’ll be lucky and win the first prize? That’s a full set of plated armor worth 20 Gold Coins!”

In the core area of Feather Pen Avenue, two adjoining shops opened simultaneously—a weapon shop and a potion shop.

From the identical Red Dragon flags hanging on the signs and the relatively unified decoration style, it’s clear that these two shops share a common owner.

The new shop opening, along with the activity announcements posted at the entrance and the flyers distributed by the staff outside, attracted many people to join the bustle.

The cheapest item in the shop costs only one Silver Coin, which although not insignificant, isn’t considered much by many Adventurers.

Additionally, items like arrows, poisons, and healing potions are essential for Adventurers anyway, so it doesn’t matter where they buy them. At least here they have a chance to win the grand prize.

If they were fortunate enough to win a full set of plated armor, even if they didn’t want to use it themselves, selling it for a dozen or twenty Gold Coins would be a considerable fortune for most Bottom Adventurers.

They also don’t worry that the shop owner would deceive them.

After all, with a little inquiry, they’d know who is behind these shops.

Being a senior Adventurer with an exceedingly rare super mount like the Red Dragon, to many Adventurers, that’s an absolute patron.

Such a person could hardly tarnish their reputation for a mere 20 Gold Coins.

Gauss and Aaliyah, along with others, sat on the second floor of the tavern across the street, eating lunch while observing the opening day situation of their shop.

”Looks quite lively.”

”I wonder how much the day’s turnover will be.”

Gauss took a sip of sake.

The Red Dragon Adventurer Group now has their own blacksmiths and pharmacists, so naturally, they wanted to try opening their own shop.

Anyway, management and operations are left to the people below.

If it runs at a loss, it wouldn’t be too late to close it then.

As for the lottery, it was his suggestion, and it seems to be working well.

In this world, at least merchants in Farlim don’t typically employ marketing strategies.

However, the good business isn’t purely due to lottery activities.

From Gauss’s observation, many people glanced at the lottery announcement before moving on, and after shopping, they were too lazy for the lottery, just buying for the sake of it.

These people are typically elite Adventurers or at least those more imposing Bottom Adventurers.

Gauss guessed they might be making purchases because of the Red Dragon Adventurer Group’s reputation.

Although the Red Dragon Team is a newly registered Group for less than a month, during this time, it has already gained fame in Farlim, at least in the southern district.

Just the reports Gauss knows of have appeared in the local paper several times.

Including but not limited to, introductions of the current Red Dragon Team members, the location of the base, the scale and situation, etc.

One time, the front page even prominently introduced the Red Dragon Team captain, that is himself, detailing plenty of past experience, achievements, and various nicknames and related incidents.

This is the benefit of carrying out activities in large cities.

If it were a small town, even with significant fame, at most a few thousand people would know of you.

But in a provincial capital like Farlim, every move could attract the attention of several times or even ten times more people.

Positive reputation can be turned into tangible benefits in most cases.

As with the same two shops, some Adventurers might buy his weapons and potions out of admiration and recognition.

After observing, Gauss withdrew his attention.

Opening a shop in such a prime location might be a high-stakes gamble for small merchants, but for him, it’s just a few idle moves, not requiring much attention.

It’s just that as it’s the shop opening day, Aaliyah suggested coming to have a look, otherwise, he wouldn’t bother coming.

”Any Door Level 3 (27/50)”

With persistent effort, a short-term intensive investment of time and energy can yield remarkable results.

In just a few days, this challenging Level 4 Spatial Magic has improved from Level 1 Skill Proficiency to Level 3.

Among all the Magic he currently masters, he can feel that Any Door’s difficulty is significantly higher than other Magic.

This might be because it involves spatial characteristics.

However, it’s still not enough.

Currently, the pre-activation time for Any Door has been steadily reduced from several seconds to one second. One second is short, but still too long to achieve his ideal effect of instant teleportation.

The higher the level of battle, the more crucial every second becomes.

The outcome of a battle, even life and death, often hinges on the contest of those fractions of a second.

Any Door is quite reliant on Skill Proficiency, and he needs to enhance it to Level 4, Level 5, and even Level 6.

Though it’s functional now, the higher the proficiency, the better the magic’s effect.

The difficulty of improving Skill Proficiency levels increases as you progress, and this is despite Any Door being constantly in a secondary core spell slot.

Even the sole core skill, Gauss Position, currently has a proficiency level of just Level 5 (153/200).
