Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 487: Chapter 356: Isaac: Can a Wizard Be So Stupid They Can’t Even Brew an Advanced Magic Potion?

It was quite ironic. The Wizard Civilization needed collective wisdom to develop rapidly, yet High-tier Mages were each more reclusive than the last...

This was also the fundamental reason why Arcanists could develop so quickly—they had perfectly struck at the Wizard Civilization’s Achilles’ heel!

But back to the main topic. In short, Isaac already had a rough idea for his research on Star Mages. Among his current ideas, there were indeed some that could utilize Knowledge related to Law. After all, Law was what interested him most recently, so his inspiration was inevitably influenced.

But unfortunately, both his own judgment and the detailed data provided by his Golden Finger proved that none of those ideas were particularly outstanding.

Helpless, Isaac had no choice but to give up on them.

He shook his head in resignation. ’I originally wanted to see what kind of Law could be condensed from the faith of a Dimension Apostle...’

’It seems I’ll have to give up on that for now.’

Seeing that Gandalf and the Black Knight were still immersed in shock, Isaac casually tossed the Silver Law to Gandalf before the sinister Void sawteeth devoured him. How to handle these two ”country bumpkins” was Philo’s business, not his.

Thus, when he reappeared, he was already in Soron’s laboratory.

Isaac’s arrival was silent. This was because he had noticed before coming that Soron was engrossed in an experiment, so he had minimized his disturbance to avoid affecting Soron.

Standing behind Soron, Isaac curiously watched his experiment: the dissection of a goblin.

Looking at the ”open-chested” goblin on the operating table, Isaac stroked his chin. He quickly figured out Soron’s plan. After all, he had once been an expert in human modification techniques himself, not to mention he possessed the two Divine Artifacts, Analysis and the Golden Finger. This kind of experiment was a piece of cake for him.

Therefore, despite having just arrived, he had already reached a conclusion before Soron did.

Unfortunately, Soron’s attempt to use the Star Knight’s promotion ritual for the goblin’s Physical Enhancement had failed once again. And just like before, the problem was that his direction was wrong.

But even though he already knew the result, Isaac didn’t stop Soron.

Because for a researcher, the experience of failure is also very valuable. Isaac had always believed that the most important part of research was the process, not the final result.

Compared to success, he often preferred his experiments to fail. That way, he would have more motivation to learn more Knowledge, rather than simply obtaining one powerful but uninteresting result after another.

”Sigh...” Behind Soron, Isaac let out a silent, feigned sigh.

After a short while, Soron’s dissection was complete. As expected, just as Isaac had foreseen, the experiment had failed.

But apparently, from the look on Soron’s face, he hadn’t realized that his direction was the mistake.

’It’s not that the direction is completely wrong, though. The general direction is correct.’ The Star Knight’s promotion ritual could indeed solve the problem of the goblin’s Physical Enhancement, but unfortunately, it wasn’t the current version of the ritual.

It still needed to be optimized. And to optimize it, one first had to understand what the so-called Shadow of the Star God truly was. This thing played a rather important role in the power systems of both Star Mages and Star Knights.

However, Isaac didn’t plan on telling Soron this. Or rather, he wouldn’t tell him for now. In any case, Soron would be cooperating with Isaac on some Star Mage experiments, so there would be plenty of opportunities in the future for him to discover the problem on his own.

This could be considered a test for Soron. Three years from now, the worlds would begin to merge. If Soron still hadn’t found the right direction by then, he would tell him and correct his research path.

But, Isaac had faith in Soron!

After all, this was a Legendary Mage who had clawed his way out of the mire that was goblin society!

He believed that Soron wouldn’t be defeated by a hurdle of this level.

The experiment’s repeated failure brought a few wisps of disappointment to Soron’s eyes, but only a few. For him, failure was already a common occurrence; he was used to it.

Thus, the disappointment in his eyes quickly faded. Just as he was rapidly composing himself and preparing to continue his research, he finally noticed Isaac behind him. He froze for a moment, bowed in greeting, and then handed over the experimental data from the past few years to Isaac.

Although the relevant data had already been passed to Isaac through Maxu Kant, many things were just not the same without seeing them with one’s own eyes. This was especially true for the related test subjects.

Nodding, Isaac pointed out a few mistakes Soron had made during the recent dissection. The Void sawteeth reappeared and swallowed him.

He was going to Agares’s place to get the relevant data, and then he would head to the laboratory that Soron and Agares had prepared for him over the past three years to conduct his own experiments.

Just as with Soron, Isaac arrived at Agares’s laboratory silently.

Because, like Soron, Agares was also conducting human experiments... It had to be said, the two of them were quite compatible.

Soron’s human experiments used his former kin, the goblins he had summoned, while the materials Agares used were also summoned—Demons.

However, the direction of their experiments was quite different.

Regarding the Power of Star God contained within the power systems of Star Mages and Star Knights, Agares’s idea was very simple and very much in the style of the Abyss—to create new Demons.

This was a routine experiment for many Demon Dominators. After all, their strength primarily came from Demons, and while the existing Demon races were extremely powerful, who would complain about having more options at their disposal?
