Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 465: Chapter 346: Has It Started? It’s Over

Did Isaac, a mere Mad Witch, really have that much clout?

And what was strangest of all, even if Isaac did have that much clout, and even if that enormous price had been paid, the descent of an Incarnation would have caused a huge commotion. It was impossible they wouldn’t have heard a thing!

The recent exaggerated commotion from the Teaching Country was a clear example of this. And over there, it was only divine oracles that descended. Even though many Deities sent oracles at once, it was nothing compared to the Tier Four True God Incarnation Isaac had summoned.

Theoretically, the arrival of this being should have been like a world announcement in a game—the kind that spams the screen dozens of times. But now, it had happened in complete silence...

This...

”Because its descent required no price to be paid.”

A Wizard watching the duel from a conference room in the Flesh Dimension spoke softly.

”No price? How is that possible?” an armored Wizard asked, his brow furrowed. ”Not even a Tier Eight Divine King can bypass the current World Wall. A power of this magnitude isn’t something a Tier Four Miracle Mage should be able to control. This is beyond the scope of a Miracle.”

As an ancient Wizard Organization that had existed since the dawn of Wizards, the Flesh Sect had lived through the great War against the Deities. It had even produced its share of Great Wizards. While information related to a Great Creation was tied to the Mysterious and couldn’t be left behind, they had a wealth of knowledge concerning Deities.

It was widely acknowledged that only a Deity of Tier Nine or above could ignore the current World Wall. However, it was still debated whether a Deity of that level could even exist. This was because from Tier Seven onward, a Deity’s Human Nature would come into direct conflict with their Divinity. Every step forward required them to sacrifice a corresponding amount of their Human Nature, until they eventually lost themselves completely!

They would become an unfeeling, Rule System Concept God!

This was also a major reason why Wizards had abandoned the Path of Divinity.

In any case, this kind of power should normally be impossible for a Tier Four Mage to master, even in the form of a Miracle.

But...

The Wizard who had spoken first nodded, affirming the armored Wizard’s point. He then raised a hand and pointed, causing the viewing screen to instantly focus on the Divine Spirit Book in Isaac’s hand.

”Look at this, and you will understand,” the Wizard said, a hint of resignation in his voice.

”Oh? This appears to be a Contract Magic Book forged from Divine Power. The contract is rather interesting... A Miracle that can control a Deity? Tsk, tsk. As expected of a Mad Witch. Truly terrifying,” an old crone remarked with great feeling. Her face was a web of wrinkles, but she was crowned with a full head of lustrous black hair.

”Indeed... Only the young would dare dream up something like this.”

”I don’t think this has anything to do with being young...”

”Wait! Something’s wrong!” the armored Wizard suddenly exclaimed, finally noticing the Divine Spirit Book’s most significant feature. ”This is! The power of the Nameless Lords! That man dares to meddle with such power?!”

”...”

The conference room fell silent in an instant. Everyone stared wordlessly at the Divine Spirit Book in Isaac’s hand. A moment later, all but the Wizard who had first noticed the anomaly acted in unison, using their immense Magic Power to sever the connection to the image!

For a moment, the atmosphere in the conference room grew heavy. The harm the Nameless Lords had once inflicted upon the Wizarding World was simply too immense. Even now, the mere mention of that past left them with lingering fear. That was why, the moment they realized what they were seeing, their first instinct was to sever the connection.

”Alright, don’t be so tense.” In the end, it was the first Wizard who spoke, breaking the heavy atmosphere. ”The power of the Nameless Lord is being constrained by a Miracle. Interesting. He truly is a Mad Witch, to dare use a power like this.”

This time, no one replied, but they all had a newfound appreciation for Isaac’s reputation as a Mad Witch. He was truly and utterly insane!

To dare use the power of a Nameless Lord!

After a brief silence, the group began to seriously consider a question: should they expel Isaac from the Flesh Sect? The man was simply too insane!

They were talking about a Nameless Lord!

...

Meanwhile, Isaac was completely unaware that the higher-ups of the Sect, watching from the Flesh Dimension, were currently debating whether to expel him. At this moment, he was already cleaning up the battlefield.

Yes, cleaning up the battlefield.

Prince Norns, his two companions, and all their direct blood relatives were dead. It had all happened in an instant.

The battle ended quickly, just as Isaac had expected. At his current level, dealing with a Tier Five was still extremely difficult—even a Pseudo-Tier Five who had been artificially created and possessed nothing but raw Magic Power. After all, their power levels were simply too high!

This was the fundamental reason the Divine Era had ended in the Real World. When facing a Deity in the Real World, Wizards were inherently in an undefeatable position. How could you possibly compete?

In the face of overwhelming stats, all flashy tricks are just empty talk!

Of course, this situation was limited to Tier Three and Tier Four. By Tier Five, Wizards’ methods improved, and stacking stats became relatively easier. A Tier Five Wizard, with the help of powerful buffs from a Floating City and other sources, could even contend with a Tier Six True God!

Strangely, however, this phenomenon stopped at Tier Seven. While Tier Five and Tier Six Wizards could, with enough effort, fight above their level, once they reached Tier Seven, it became impossible to defeat a Tier Eight, no matter how hard they tried.

This was because at that level, the vast majority of known Tier Eights were Great Wizards... their methods were simply superior...

The few Tier Eight Divine Kings that existed were, by the nature of their power, infinitely close to becoming Concept Gods, their abilities far exceeding the comprehension of any Tier Seven Wizard.

Of course, Isaac didn’t know much about power at that level, but he believed it was also related to the scarcity of Tier Seven Wizards. After all, very few proper Wizards actually promoted to Tier Seven. Most would simply enhance their combat power to a Tier Seven level while maintaining their rank at Tier Six, then begin to explore the path to becoming a Great Wizard.

Only a tiny minority of Wizards chose to break through to Tier Seven. The path of a Wizard was one where progress accelerated with the number of people walking it. Therefore, Isaac guessed that if Tier Seven Wizards were given enough time, a day might come when they too could fight above their level!

Of course, that was just Isaac’s speculation. As for how things really were...

’I should focus on reaching Tier Five first,’ he thought.

In truth, there wasn’t much to clean up. After Isaac had so casually summoned the Incarnation of an Abyss Walker and then just as casually annihilated Prince Norns and the others, none of the survivors dared to make a move.

Not everyone could discern the secrets of Isaac’s Divine Spirit Book. Of course, even if they had, it wouldn’t have made a difference. The peculiar nature of the Nameless Lord guaranteed that those in the know would never dare try to break the Divine Spirit Book by exploiting that secret.

Who the hell knew what kind of catastrophe a Nameless Lord, freed from the constraints of a Miracle, would unleash!

Thus, Isaac confiscated thirteen Mage Towers without much effort. As for the rest...

There wasn’t much of a commotion. Although the direct Norns bloodline was completely wiped out, most of the people who actually managed the domain were not his direct relatives. The majority of the Norns Clan were simply enjoying a life of luxury. The ones truly in control of the entire domain were the vassals loyal to Prince Norns and several branch families of the Terra Royal Family.

After witnessing Isaac effortlessly eliminate Prince Norns, any lingering thoughts of resistance these people might have had instantly vanished. Isaac’s Demonic Puppet Legion was now plundering the wealth of the Prince’s Domain at an astonishing speed!

With the threat of Isaac hanging over their heads like a sharpened blade, although reluctant, they could only allow the Demonic Puppet Legion to pillage wantonly. They didn’t dare offer the slightest resistance, and could only hope the puppets’ eyes weren’t sharp enough to find their hidden treasures.

However, while the Demonic Puppet Legion’s looting was going smoothly, Isaac’s own situation was less than ideal...

The Abyss Walker had been too thorough, draining the thirteen Mage Towers of their accumulated Magic Power in one clean sweep. While the display had been spectacular, it also meant that Isaac’s plan to explore the New World after the battle had gone up in smoke...

’As expected,’ he thought. ’An Incarnation without a will of its own is just too crude. It only knows how to kill, not how to clean up the mess...’

He sighed. Though disappointed, there was nothing he could do. In his current situation, while it wasn’t impossible for him to let the Abyss Walker’s actual consciousness descend, its combat effectiveness might have actually dropped as a result. After all, an Incarnation without a will of its own wouldn’t be slacking off on the job.

It did exactly what it was told. Perfectly obedient!

And so, under the watch of countless eyes, the battle that started with a roar ended with a whimper.

However, while the battle may have ended, the storm it kicked up was only just beginning!
