Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 468: Chapter 348: The Still Inhumanely Rich Philo

The development of the New World was tentatively scheduled for two weeks from now, but the three of them were set to meet in one week. Ostensibly, it was to finalize the battle plan, but in reality... it was because Isaac wanted to meet Angel in person to confirm her intentions and make sure Philo wasn’t taking her for a ride.

After receiving Isaac’s promise, Philo left immediately. Isaac, in turn, set aside his other tasks and began to seriously read a book Philo had brought him—a strategy guide for developing the New World.

”New World” was the designation for secondary spaces with a complete set of rules. Because these rules were so well-developed, these spaces were similar to the Real World in many respects—but only in many respects.

After all, a New World was also known as a Little World, and the ”little” was telling. In terms of the completeness of their rules, they couldn’t compare to the Real World, which meant some rules were different. This was to say nothing of the fact that the Real World’s rules had been modified by countless powerhouses over the ages, making the disparity even greater.

The most important difference was a mechanism akin to the World Wall!

The World Wall was the mechanism the Real World used to block Divine Power. However, it was not exclusive to the Real World. In fact, research by Wizards had shown it to be a universal mechanism, originally intended to defend a world against powerful external enemies and prevent its own destruction.

Over time, however, its newest and most important purpose became to prevent powerful beings from acting freely within the world, which could disrupt its natural operation, and to thereby increase resource utilization efficiency.

For example, there was a time in the Real World’s history when Deities confiscated all Extraordinary Power and ruled the world with absolute authority. During that era, the world’s internal cycle, which had been driven by Extraordinary Power, was lost. As a result, the world stagnated for a very long time.

The situation only improved with the birth of the World Wall.

The World Wall equally suppressed all powerhouses, including Wizards and Knights!

The reason they were unaffected by the World Wall wasn’t that they were born in this world. It was because the earliest power of Wizards originated from the Outer Gods—power plundered from them, which, from the world’s perspective, was a benevolent act.

Later, once the Wizards grew powerful, they deciphered the World Wall’s mechanism and turned it into a vital tool in their fight against the Deities. Knights were similarly ignored by the World Wall because they were originally the Creations of Wizards.

Therefore, this special treatment for Wizards and Knights only existed in the Real World. In a New World, they would receive no such favor from its World Wall. Any being that exceeded a certain power limit would be unable to enter.

Most New Worlds shared the same tier restrictions as the Real World, with an upper limit of Tier Three. Some weaker worlds were limited to Tier Two. An influx of power that was too strong would trigger the New World’s self-destruct mechanism.

It was worth noting that a New World’s World Wall differed from the Real World’s in one key aspect: although it restricted those above Tier Three from entering, the strongest beings native to that world were generally above this limit. Most were Tier Four, with a rare few reaching Tier Five.

This was why the exploration of New Worlds was the exclusive domain of Tier Four Powerhouses.

However, these Little Worlds were still just that—little. Their rules were not yet perfect, meaning their World Walls could be disabled. This was the fundamental principle behind developing a New World.

The process of developing a New World revolved primarily around finding a way to disable it.

The materials Philo provided stated there were generally three methods for developing a New World. One was pure plunder. The first step was to send an advance team into the New World. While establishing a forward outpost, they would collect data on the world’s rules and coordinate with Wizards outside the world to crack its World Wall.

During this process, the world itself would alert its native powerhouses. They would then launch relentless attacks on the advance team’s stronghold to prevent them from gathering data.

The second step, therefore, was to dispatch a steady stream of reinforcements to help them defend the outpost and establish a Teleportation Gate.

The third and final step: once the Analysis of the World Wall was complete and it was broken, the restrictions on the number and power level of entrants would be lifted. This was when the main army and the powerhouses would all step into the New World to complete the final harvest!

’This is straight-up villainy,’ was Isaac’s first thought as he read.

But after he finished reading, he somewhat revised that initial thought. For the natives of that world, it was undeniably an act of aggression. But for the powerhouses of the Real World, it was more akin to an act of enlightenment.

Yes, their purpose was to acquire resources, but it wasn’t a simple slash-and-burn operation. After the resources were harvested, the entire Little World would be completely integrated into the Real World under the Wizards’ control. All life within it would be safely transferred over as well, adding to the depth and foundation of the Real World.

For the ordinary mortals and the lower-to-middle-tier Transcendents of the New World, this was actually a great opportunity. The larger, more complete Real World could offer them far more hope!

Of course, Isaac was looking at it from the perspective of a Transcendent. For the ordinary people who couldn’t or wouldn’t become Transcendents, the outcome would depend on the specific circumstances. After all, even the Real World had no shortage of scoundrels.
