Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 459: Chapter 343: Isaac: It’s Just Stealing a Deity’s Power, What Are You Afraid Of?

Isaac wasn’t surprised that the two of them could figure out his intentions. After all, he himself had started learning about the Great Creation when he was only Tier Three. What he could do, others could naturally do as well.

Humility was a quality Isaac hoped he could always possess.

Thus, he nodded and said casually, ”There’s nothing here you’re forbidden from researching. In fact, this is just piecemeal research. For the two of you, most of it would be repetitive and inefficient labor. The returns wouldn’t be great even if you completed it, so it’s best to delegate it to others. As for you, I have other plans.”

The old woman and the young man exchanged a glance, both seeing the surprise in each other’s eyes. They felt a greater sense of belonging to the Mad Heart Wizard Organization, which they had just recently joined.

After all, despite what he said, for a Wizard’s research, inspiration is often the most important thing, followed by the accumulation of Knowledge.

This inspiration wasn’t just about coming up with ideas.

It referred to a more concrete process—for example, knowing which direction to take for the initial design, what angle to use to break through an impasse, and whether to give up or press on.

For Mages beyond Tier Three, this was the most important ability!

And in that respect, Isaac had showcased his mastery to the fullest in the research plan they held!

It was no exaggeration to say that while most of it was repetitive labor, as Isaac had said, it was definitely not as worthless as he claimed.

Because this meant the experiment’s difficulty wasn’t high for them, and the entire process was perfectly complete. Just with what they held in their hands, they could produce some initial results, and those results...

...would be valuable!

However, after Isaac displayed his ability, that thought vanished from their minds. Having worked so hard to advance to Tier Three, they knew very well how difficult the road ahead was. Following a generous and brilliant Wizard would undoubtedly save them a lot of trouble.

With their loyalty thus easily won, the two of them buried their heads in the documents and began to read seriously.

Isaac had already demonstrated his ability through this document. Now, it was their turn to prove their own worth!

Although Isaac said they didn’t need to complete most of the contents themselves, being able to delegate the work to the right people was also a great test of their abilities.

A moment later, seeing the old woman and the young man put the files down thoughtfully, Isaac caught Liu Li’s eye. Liu Li immediately placed three files down, one in front of each of the three people.

Isaac first looked at the old woman, Selena Night Word. ”This is a research topic I’ve prepared based on your area of expertise. The refinement and transformation of the blood essence of serpentine Demons will be your responsibility. I will provide you with some Tier Four Demon blood essence. If I get a chance in the future, I will try to find a Tier Four Knight Furnace Technique for you to study.”

Selena first nodded calmly, then her head snapped up to look at Isaac.

Among the Wizards present, although she looked the oldest, her reserve of Knowledge was not as... profound... as her appearance suggested.

How to put it? She was the sort of very normal, very Ordinary Tier Three Mage who, if placed in a work of fiction, would serve as little more than a power-level benchmark for the protagonist’s cohort...

All one could say was that there was a world of difference between Wizards.

Among the Tier Three Mages present, the strongest in combat was undoubtedly the Demon Summoner, Agares. His school was a high-risk, high-reward type. The risk of accidents was lower than for a Mad Witch, but the returns were even higher!

After all, the things a Mad Witch traded for might not be useful, but a summoned Demon definitely was!

Whether used in battle or slaughtered for materials.

Next was Demon Eye Soron, and she was last.

And she was only third because the list was limited to Tier Three. If the Tier Two in the room was included, she would drop another rank...

There was nothing to be done about it. Who could compete with a transformation-school Wizard who had mastered a Tier Three Giant Dragon Transformation...?

This was all because she lacked a complete system of Knowledge. Though she had already advanced to Tier Three, only she knew how much she was truly struggling.

Knowledge for higher tiers wasn’t so easy to obtain. Or rather, there wasn’t much that was suitable for her.

After all, she was a Legendary Mage, not an Arcanist. The abilities she mastered didn’t form a cohesive system and were heavily influenced by her personal style. This was the dilemma faced by most Legendary Mages. The path forward had to be researched bit by bit on their own, unlike Arcanists who could learn systematically.

But as a Wild Sorcerer, her research abilities were actually quite average.

Yet the research tasks Isaac had given her not only fit with the [Legend] she currently possessed, but they also vaguely connected to form a coherent system.

Not only would this lower the difficulty of her research, but it would also significantly improve her research ability!

Compared to this, the materials provided in the research task seemed hardly worth mentioning...

HISS!!! Selena took a deep breath, her hands like withered branches clutching the document as if she were seizing fate itself.

Agares, next to her, was the same. His hands clutched the file tightly, his eyes wide.

But the difference was...

Agares was terrified...

Because...

*On the Feasibility of Converting Divine Power into Magic Power*, *On the Feasibility of Converting Divine Arts into Magic*, and *On the Feasibility of Converting Divine Authority into a Wizard’s Authority*...

They were quite simple and clear, and just like Selena’s, they were a perfect fit for his area of expertise. His school of magic specialized in manipulating contracts and power conversion.

After all, you couldn’t outplay a Demon in a contract without a few tricks up your sleeve, and the Evil Energy obtained from Demons came with huge side effects if not properly converted.

But this was about Gods!

Gods!

GODS!

This was stealing the power of a Deity!

This was the research of a Mad Witch!

At that moment, the loyalty Agares had just pledged in his heart was immediately withdrawn...

After all, he had no interest whatsoever in becoming a Mad Witch...

”Don’t be nervous. This Deity isn’t the kind you’re thinking of. I won’t have you actually researching an Outer God.”

”Researching a True God is even worse!” Agares looked at Isaac, speechless. His slightly trembling hand gently placed the file on the table as he prepared to tell Isaac he quit. This was too insane!

But before he could speak, he saw Isaac gently flick his earring, and five illusory figures of Deities materialized behind him.

”You won’t be researching True Gods, either. You’ll just be researching them. These are Virtual Deities I created. Though they are virtual, their power level and nature are the same as a True God’s. Set your mind at ease. I’m not trying to screw you over.”

Agares: ”...”

After a moment of silence, Agares once again shook his head firmly.
