Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 480: Chapter 353: Isaac Gets Serious

At first glance, the greatest problem for a Star Mage seemed to be the so-called Shadow of the Star God. It was most likely power originating from the Star God, which would be a fitting parallel to the power of this world’s strongest figure, the Black Knight.

After all, he also possessed the Power of Star God.

But what exactly was this Shadow of the Star God?

Staring at the Magic Book in his hand, Soron sank into thought. Based on the information from his memories, the Cultivation method for Star Mages in this world was quite similar to that of Arcanists from the Real World—they just needed to perform Meditation. During this process, they would gradually perceive the Shadow of the Star God and thus obtain Magic Power, which, notably, wasn’t stored within their bodies.

That’s right. Star Mages were born with an organ to store Magic Power, unlike Legendary Mages who needed to modify their own bodies. In this regard, they were similar to Arcanists, but they lacked a direct Casting Ability.

Of course, this was also their most fatal flaw.

Theoretically, if they could solve the problem of independent Casting, Star Mages could become true Wizards. But this was far easier said than done; in practice, it was incredibly difficult.

Even modern Wizards had few viable solutions for an independent Casting Ability. Countless Tier Five and Tier Six Wizards had thrown themselves at this problem day and night, all to no avail.

This was understandable; after all, it touched upon Great Creation.

Soron gently tapped his finger on the Magic Book. With a light wave of his hand, a thick white mist began pouring from the mouths, noses, and eyes of the other nineteen people. Wisps of memory flooded into Soron’s mind like a tidal wave. A moment later, he extracted the useful information and returned their souls to their bodies.

’This will have to do for now. I still need to organize the data on Star Mages. Then I’ll examine these subjects and see if I can find any trace of that Shadow of the Star God on them.’

Soon, the only sounds left were the constant thuds of goblins budding from the trees and falling to the ground, and Soron’s incessant rustling.

Meanwhile, after emerging from the temporary base, Agares glanced at the battlefield, which was gradually stabilizing after a brief period of chaos. He frowned slightly. ’Continuing this stalemate won’t work.’

’If we can’t take this position soon, the enemy is bound to send reinforcements. Things could go south if that happens.’

So, after a moment’s thought, Agares lightly swiped his right index finger across his left wrist, and a purple, illusory bracelet materialized.

”Lord Isaac, this is the current situation...”

”Is that so? Then just kill them. Anyone on the battlefield, kill them if you can. If they don’t make a move, maintain the stalemate. Just be careful not to let things go south.”

Outside the world, Isaac, who was currently experiencing the power of the Silver Law, received Agares’s message and made a swift decision without much hesitation.

’There was no need to hold back. A peaceful resolution would have been ideal, but the enemy clearly had their own agenda and didn’t want things to end so simply. Fine, then a fight it is. They were just a bunch of Tier Threes, anyway.’

For the current Isaac, as long as he wasn’t concerned with the path of Great Creation, he could churn out droves of them. Whether through Demonic Puppet modification or Giant Dragon Bloodline enhancement, it wasn’t difficult for him.

Tier Four was his current technical bottleneck. After all, at the Tier Four level, Isaac had only managed to accumulate power; in terms of Knowledge, he was still sorely lacking.

For one thing, for a Tier Four Miracle Mage to advance to Tier Five Legendary Wizard, they needed to complete three [Miracles] or three secondary Great Creations. This was necessary to receive the baptism of the Power of World Origin and further elevate their level of existence.

And that was just the foundation. After the three baptisms, a Legendary Ascension Ritual was required to fully advance to Tier Five Legendary Wizard.

His progress on that front...

Unfortunately, Isaac’s current progress was zero.

’Originally, during his ten years in the Endless Tower, he had already formed some rough ideas for his first [Miracle]. Completing the first baptism would have been no problem. However, his thinking changed after he learned that secondary Great Creations could also grant a baptism!’

’He wanted to challenge himself!’

’He would advance to Legendary Wizard through the baptisms of three secondary Great Creations!’

On one hand, he wanted to strive for perfection on the path of the Wizard. The reason his combat power had skyrocketed after each advancement so far was entirely thanks to the unusually solid foundation he laid at every stage.

On the other hand, what if—and Isaac was just considering the possibility—

’what if he actually succeeded?’

’What if he got lucky and managed to drop the ”secondary” descriptor, completing a true Great Creation instead? Wouldn’t that be the ultimate jackpot?’

’He would ascend to the heavens in a single step!’

’It was a bit of a pipe dream, but there was no real loss in failing, was there?’

But to get back on topic. Leaving aside Agares, who had just received Isaac’s permission to engage in life-consuming combat, Isaac himself had been facing a series of attacks from Trist. Through them, he had managed to figure out the basics of the Silver Law. His understanding was still quite shallow, but he couldn’t help that. Gaining a deeper understanding was simply unrealistic unless he could obtain the main body of the Silver Law itself.

Law. It was truly worthy of the name Concept God. The essence of this Magic was to gather the beliefs of tens of thousands, mix them with a certain amount of Magic Power, and compile them into a series of binding rules. This was the meaning behind its name, [Law].

It was worth noting that, as a form of compiled Magic, its abilities should have been diverse. In practice, however, the abilities of the vast majority of Laws were remarkably uniform.
