Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 486: Chapter 356: Isaac: No Matter How Stupid a Wizard Is, How Could They Fail to Brew an Advanced Magic Potion?

Upon hearing this, the stunned Gandalf finally came back to his senses, though he was still quite shocked.

Of course, amidst his shock, the trace of unwillingness in his heart from not being able to follow Isaac also vanished into thin air. From Isaac’s few simple words, he felt as if he had seen a Wizard Civilization where Magic was as dazzling as the stars in the sky!

’If I could go to a civilization like that, it’d be worth dying for!’

More importantly, he was now one hundred percent certain he could go to that world. After all, the Philo they were following was also from that world, and she was the Eldest Princess of a recently fallen Empire!

Recently fallen, Empire, Eldest Princess...

These three simple phrases were enough to spark infinite flights of fancy in one’s mind!

’Surely, even a fallen Empire must possess an incredibly brilliant Magic!’

Gandalf thought to himself.

(Unfortunately, that was not the case. The core strength of all Empires had always been their Knights.)

After briefly answering the two of them, Isaac gently squeezed his left hand, and the nascent Divine Law that had just begun to take shape dissipated into nothing. This decisive act left the Black Knight and Gandalf stunned once more.

Putting themselves in his shoes, if they had been in the same situation, they definitely wouldn’t have abandoned the power of the Divine Law as decisively as Isaac had. After all, even from a newly born Black Iron Level Law, they could clearly sense its terrifying power.

Isaac, however, didn’t feel much about it. ’No matter what kind of Law it is, it’s just too much trouble. Both its application and its Cultivation are a pain. And for all that hassle, the ultimate reward isn’t even an invincible power. It’s just not worth it.’

Besides, although the Divine Law was very close to the realm of invincibility, just as the Wizard who had once created and then personally destroyed it had considered, the Divine Law was powerful, yes, but far too dangerous!

Another name for Law was King’s Magic, meaning it was Magic that only a King could possess. Even the Wizard who created this Magic could only share its use with the King through a backdoor method; he couldn’t prevent the corresponding King from using the corresponding Law.

Therefore, while the power of the Divine Law was formidable, the thing was simply too dangerous, because among the Deities, there was also an Existence known as the Divine King!

And They were far, far more powerful than any human King. Although that specific Divine Law had not matured, according to that Wizard’s later calculations, he believed that any Divine King—regardless of whether Their Subordinate Gods participated in the construction of the Divine Law—could forcibly control the Divine Law by virtue of Their own extremely high station!

Therefore, in the Wizarding World, any attempt to construct the Divine Law would be met with unified opposition from all Wizards!

Such an act was considered even more egregious than becoming a Mad Witch!

After all, becoming a Mad Witch was merely leading the way for one Outer God, but constructing a powerful Divine Law was like leading the way for all Outer Gods!

One had to understand that in the divine hierarchy, ”Divine King” was just a term for a certain realm, and there were quite a few of those things.

Thus, in the current era where Wizards and True Gods coexisted harmoniously, even the True Gods disliked the Divine Law.

Or rather, They disliked a Divine Law that could be used by both True Gods and Outer Gods.

Therefore, Isaac naturally had no need to keep this thing. ’After all,’ he thought, ’I consider myself a rather law-abiding, good Wizard. I’m not that crazy.’

The other reason was that Isaac wasn’t particularly interested in the power of the Law to begin with; he was only interested in the Knowledge of it.

As long as it was Knowledge—even the Knowledge of the Outer Gods, which Wizards widely regarded as filthy—he would savor it gladly!

’In my view, Knowledge has no hierarchy, nor is it good or evil!’

That first part in particular—that Knowledge has no hierarchy—had helped him overcome countless problems.

So, after destroying the Divine Law, Isaac instinctively began to consider how the Knowledge gained from the Law could help his research on his existing systems.

After pondering for a moment, Isaac nodded thoughtfully.

’As I thought. It’s no help at all.’

What he was currently trying to tackle was the problem of autonomous Casting for Star Mages. He actually had many ideas on this topic; after all, Soron and Agares had been providing him with all sorts of data for the past three years. But since he was unable to enter this world, he had been unable to begin his research in earnest.

Although he had passed many of his ideas to Soron and Agares to conduct experiments on his behalf, their Levels were far too different from Isaac’s. Their experimental skills, in particular, were not on the same tier.

This was because Isaac’s experiments involved a great deal of Knowledge and techniques from Ritualism. Even among Tier Five Legendary Wizards, few could compare with Isaac in this area, let alone two mere Tier Three Mages like them.

Another major hurdle was that they lacked the boost from his Golden Finger.

In short, aside from providing Isaac with massive amounts of data that let him brainstorm nonstop and accumulate mountains of ideas, their experiments were barely better than nothing.

This was also one of the drawbacks of being a Legendary Mage. Due to the lack of a mature system for cultivating Knowledge, the vast majority of Legendary Mages developed without structured guidance. As a result, it was common for Wizards of the same school to have drastically different specializations by the time they reached the High Tiers.

Collaboration between them was extremely difficult!
