Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 481: Chapter 353: Isaac Gets Serious

This was because Laws required upgrading and enhancement. The simplest Black Iron Law could, at best, bind a Tier One Transcendent. Moreover, activating it was extremely cumbersome; one could say it was the epitome of inefficiency.

Enhancing a Law required a continuous investment of faith and Magic Enhancement. But most importantly, the rules it embodied needed to be genuinely accepted by the people. While not every rule needed to be accepted, at least ninety percent of them had to be.

Otherwise, the Law would not only fail to be Enhanced, but it might even regress. In severe cases, it could shatter entirely!

Incredibly strict.

Furthermore, the original purpose for creating all Laws was to combat Existences from beyond the world—namely, Deities. As a result, most of the rules were designed to expel or kill beings that entered illegally.

Due to all these factors, the abilities of Laws were remarkably consistent.

Isaac gently raised his right hand, and Trist immediately ceased its attack. There was no point in continuing the fight. ’To study the Silver Law further, I need to get my hands on the source itself.’

A faint light flickered in his eyes. In an instant, Isaac received an update on the Analysis of the World Wall—progress was negligible.

This was to be expected. Even for Wizards, the World Wall was not easily dismantled. Although Philo had brought plenty of tools, the difficulty was undeniable, and her experience was lacking. It was only natural for it to be slow.

But Isaac was done waiting.

Both the power contained within the Silver Law and the Knowledge about Star Mages he’d received from Soron made Isaac impatient to begin his research. He decided it was time to lay his cards on the table with the Black Knight.

’Their stubborn resistance now is just a ploy to demonstrate their value, to sell themselves and their world for a good price. It’s cruel, but that’s the reality of it. The weak don’t get to choose, after all.’

’But that’s also their greatest weakness. Can’t be helped. That’s just how the Real World is—good guys get a gun pointed at their heads.’

FLUTTER~

With a flick of his left hand, the Divine Spirit Book materialized, its pages flipping ceaselessly.

Simultaneously, a Profound and wicked Magic Power began to emanate from Isaac. A phantasmal world flickered into existence behind him, and from within its darkness, countless pairs of malevolent eyes stared greedily at this world!

This bizarre and terrifying scene made the Black Knight, who was still bewildered, break out in a cold sweat. ’This is... Tier Four power?!’

Far away in the Little World Royal Hall, Gandalf also perceived this scene through the power of the Silver Law. His face was filled with horror. As the strongest Star Mage in this world, he knew all too well where his own power came from.

’But the power emanating from that guy... it’s even more terrifying than the Shadow of the Star God used by us Star Mages!’

’The sheer level of that Existence is staggering!’

Gandalf, who occasionally explored beyond his world with the Black Knight, knew exactly what this meant. ’Is he... preparing to flip the table?’

Outside the Little World, Philo stared at Isaac’s sudden eruption of power, momentarily stunned. She couldn’t understand what was happening. ’Isn’t everything going smoothly? All the casualties so far have been on my side, and I haven’t even complained. What’s gotten into Isaac?’

Despite her confusion, Philo said nothing, silently maintaining the Magic in her hands. She couldn’t help it; the power now erupting from Isaac sent a violent tremor through her heart.

In this world, the strong are revered.

So, even though she had been the one to discover this Little World and arrange this entire operation, at this moment, only Isaac had the authority to make a decision.

If this had been the old Philo, she would have felt nothing but shame, humiliation, and disgrace. She would have rather died...

But now?

She could only think one thing: ’Isaac is a total badass!’

There was no helping it. The gap between them was just too vast—so vast they weren’t even in the same league. The thought of competing with him couldn’t even begin to form.

But that didn’t mean she was just going to roll over and give up. Deep in her heart, a sliver of indignation and anticipation remained. ’Once my research is complete, I should be able to wield power like this too, right?’

Gradually, Philo’s gaze on Isaac became entranced.

’Power... I want it!’

Angel, marveling at the display herself, also noticed the look in Philo’s eyes. In fact, through her Chronicles of Time, she could even get a rough idea of what Philo was thinking.

’It’s a good thing we’re not closer, or I’d be tempted to tell her that if her research succeeds, the power she’ll possess won’t be on this level at all. Even though I can’t see that future clearly, I’ve learned from my elder Witches and the Terra Demigod that once Philo completes her current research, she will advance to Tier Five!’

’And that research, though born from coincidence, is already on the correct path!’

’Barring any accidents, Philo’s ascension to Tier Five is set in stone. It’s only a matter of when.’

This was also a key reason why Angel had agreed to a truce. After all, that Demigod was currently pulling strings everywhere, actively networking with both veteran and up-and-coming Wizards, all for the sake of ensuring and even accelerating Philo’s advancement.

Letting the three of them ’play’ in this Little World by themselves was also part of that plan.

She was one thing, but Isaac was the primary target they wanted to win over in this operation. After the battle in Prince Norns’s Domain, Isaac had completely stolen the spotlight. Despite being a Mad Witch, no one now doubted his genius for research.

If Philo could get some guidance from a genius like him, her research would surely proceed much more smoothly.

Though Angel didn’t know why Philo seemed completely oblivious to all this, she had no intention of telling her. ’Best to let her stew in her frustrations for a while longer.’

Seeing the slightly dazed look in Philo’s eyes, the corners of Angel’s lips tilted up. She was clearly in a good mood.

However, this good mood lasted only a moment. She, too, felt that heart-stopping tremor from Isaac’s power, which made her fall silent. She was a Time Witch, after all!

And a Time Witch who possessed an Original Scripture, no less!

Relying on the power of the Original Scripture, she could instantly erase anyone whose Magic Power quality was inferior to hers and who lacked the protection of a Divine Level power, simply by rewriting the past!

Against those with stronger Magic Power than her own, she could sacrifice her lifespan to draw upon her future strength and defeat them, capable of unleashing power up to the Tier Five level!

But...

’So why... why did I still feel that heart-stopping fear from him?’

Angel’s expression grew solemn. ’A Tier Four Wizard shouldn’t be able to fight above their level!’

Isaac was unaware of Angel’s thoughts. If he had been, he would have simply called it a misunderstanding. The heart-stopping feeling came from the Divine Spirit Book. After all, they were in the Boundless Void where the power of a Deity was unrestricted. So, while the power he could personally control was only at Tier Four, the Deity’s true form could project far more strength.

Of course, if it came to that, even Isaac himself would die if he didn’t flee fast enough...

But even if Isaac had known, he would have had no interest in explaining. At this moment, he calmly regarded the solemn-faced Black Knight and said flatly, ”Let’s talk. There’s no point in fighting any further. To us, Servant Demons and Demonic Puppets are just resources. But you... you are losing lives. Cooperation is the only path to a win-win outcome, is it not?”

”Hmph. You just want us to surrender. Don’t dress it up as ’cooperation’ to make it sound nice,” the Black Knight said, clearly displeased.

”Yes, you’re right.” To the Black Knight’s surprise, Isaac didn’t argue. He simply nodded. ”That’s exactly right. So, will you surrender? I would prefer this world to be preserved as intact as possible; it would be beneficial for my subsequent research. However, I am not willing to pay for that preservation with my time. Death, or surrender. Those are your only two choices.”

Having said his piece, Isaac fell silent, watching the Black Knight quietly as he awaited his decision. He was confident the Black Knight would make the correct choice. After all, from their brief exchange, Isaac had already grasped some of the Silver Law’s characteristics.

’For anyone other than a Wizard to use the power of a Law, they need to be recognized. It is, in the truest sense, the power of a King!’

As expected. After a moment of silence, the Black Knight, though reluctant, had no choice but to agree. He had just received a report from Gandalf on the battle at the front lines—six Tier Three Knights were dead.

Three of them had been killed instantly the moment the enemy Wizard took action.
