Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 483: Chapter 354: Three Years

’What in the world is a Deity to this man?’

’Is it really okay to use the power to create a Deity so casually?’

’This madman!’

At this moment, a sliver of regret flashed through the minds of all three. ’Perhaps... working with this man wasn’t such a good idea.’

’Even though he’s so incredibly brilliant!’

Philo and Angel exchanged a look. For a moment, the former rivals shared a rare, unspoken understanding. ’On the next mission... no!’

’We can’t work with this crazy bastard on any future missions!’

’Otherwise, he’s going to get us all killed sooner or later!’

The Black Knight, standing to the side, was thinking along the same lines. His gaze flickered between Philo and Angel. After his surrender, he had learned that the three of them came from different factions and were only temporary allies.

He hadn’t cared much about it before. In his eyes, while the other two might be powerful, they were nothing compared to the overwhelming pressure Isaac exuded. His previous thinking had been simple: ’Follow whoever is strongest!’

And Isaac was, without a doubt, the strongest. He also seemed to hold a certain leadership position among the three, so naturally, the Black Knight hadn’t paid much attention to Angel and Philo.

But things were different now...

’Isaac is too damn crazy!’

’He could kick the bucket at any moment. The future with him could be incredibly bright, but it could also be pitch-black!’

If he were alone, he might have been willing to take a gamble and follow Isaac. After all, he understood the principle that the bigger the risk, the greater the reward.

Unfortunately, he was not alone. He had his Kingdom and his people behind him, and he had to consider them.

Angel and Philo naturally noticed the Black Knight’s glances. They didn’t think much of his ”betrayal.” Following the strong was an eternal Truth of the Extraordinary World.

However, Angel wasn’t particularly interested. While the power the Black Knight had displayed was impressive, it was a shame he wasn’t alone. Accepting him meant accepting the people behind him, which would be very difficult for Angel.

Although the Witch Country was very powerful—far stronger than any Empire on the continent—its territory wasn’t actually that large.

For one, governing a country is a tricky business. It requires not only talent but also an immense amount of energy. While Witches, unlike Wizards, didn’t need to bury their heads in research to advance, wouldn’t it be better to use that free time to enjoy life?

’Sipping tea, dancing a little, then sipping some more tea... ah, what a wonderful life that would be~’

’Why look for trouble when there isn’t any?’

So, while Angel was tempted by the Black Knight’s formidable power, she had no intention of accepting him. For no other reason than that she simply couldn’t afford to support him and his people.

Philo’s eyes, however, flickered with interest. Angel couldn’t afford them, but she could!

’And this is exactly what I need right now!’

’Both the population and their system of Law... it was a godsend!’

But now wasn’t the time to discuss it.

The three turned to look at Isaac, their eyes filled with deep confusion and anticipation. ’After all that commotion, there has to be some kind of reward, right?’

Isaac might be insane, but few would question his genius. His recent actions were most likely not for nothing.

”Haaaah~” Sure enough, under their gazes, Isaac let out a long breath, a relaxed expression appearing on his face.

”Did you get something?”

”Mhm.” Isaac nodded with a smile in response to Philo’s question. He raised his right hand and called out, ”Maxu Kant, have you compiled it?”

”It’s all here, Divine Master.”

Before the speechless gazes of Philo and the others, a rather ethereal woman in a purple robe materialized behind Isaac and handed him a Magic Book.

’Another Deity...’

’They wouldn’t be surprised again. Probably...’

”Good.” Isaac took the Magic Book and waved it in front of the three of them. ”This is what we just gained. Some data on the World Wall. With this, our next steps should go much more smoothly.”

...

Isaac wasn’t wrong. With that data, their research did proceed much more smoothly. But that ”smooth” progress took three years...

「Three years later.」

Standing in the Boundless Void, Isaac gazed silently at the now completely defenseless Little World. The ten years he had spent in the Endless Tower had already taught him that research for a High-level Wizard was never a brief affair.

But when it took him three full years to finish breaking through the World Wall, he still felt a bit dazed.

Of course, this was partly because Philo and the others eventually couldn’t keep up with his pace, leaving him to conduct the research all by himself...

Still, the time spent on this had exceeded his expectations.

It was over a year longer than their initial estimate.

Of course, while it took longer than expected, the rewards also exceeded expectations.

The Black Knight’s surrender had drastically reduced the losses for both sides. Not only that, but the Black Knight and his people also received technological and military support from Philo, allowing them to bring the last piece of the Little World’s territory under their control and significantly improve their standard of living.

At the same time, Philo began to establish her Faith among these people.

Philo benefited greatly, but the other two didn’t miss out either. According to their prior agreement, the population went to Philo, the Extraordinary resources to Angel, and the Knowledge and the Little World itself to Isaac.

With the Black Knight’s surrender, Angel gained an extra three years to harvest the resources within the Little World. During these three years, Angel made a fortune, to say the least!

After all, with this Little World about to be integrated into the Real World, Angel could use all sorts of forbidden spells almost unscrupulously to accelerate the growth of various resources. This was one of the major windfalls of developing a New World.

Isaac didn’t lose out either. Firstly, over these three years, with Gandalf’s active cooperation, Soron and Agares made smooth progress in collecting all relevant Knowledge about Star Mages and Star God Knights.

If they had stuck to the previous War model, not only would collection have been troublesome, but the losing side would have inevitably taken some irrational actions, leading to the destruction of Knowledge.

Such situations were commonplace in the development of New Worlds.

Furthermore, both Wizards and Knights usually had their own unique secret techniques. Conquering a Little World without a full-scale War allowed for the maximum preservation of this Knowledge, which would be of great help to Isaac’s research into the power of Star Mages.

After all, who’s to say that some Tier One Mage might not provide Isaac with the very insight or even the method needed to solve a problem?

This wasn’t impossible. After all, hadn’t Isaac’s own Virtual Divinity technology made such huge progress precisely because it was dependent on a Divine Fragment?

And that Divine Fragment was not only something Isaac had researched when he was just Tier One, but its origin was an even more primitive Witchcraft for modifying a Divine Species.

Therefore, in the world of Wizards, there is no high or low Knowledge; you never know when something might prove useful.

It’s just that Isaac’s gains were a bit more subtle.

”When should we begin the integration?” After finishing his work on the World Wall, Isaac stretched his neck and turned to look at Angel. Once the Little World began to merge with the Real World, resources could still be collected, but they could no longer use Forbidden Techniques to accelerate their growth. Doing so would incur the hostility of the Real World’s will.

Therefore, as per their prior agreement, Isaac needed to ask Angel.

”Me? If possible, I’d like to wait another three years. There’s something I haven’t obtained yet,” Angel said, looking at Isaac with some surprise. ”What about you? Are you really determined to merge it into the Real World?”

”Mhm.” Isaac nodded. ”I have no interest in territory and the like. I’ve already collected most of what I want from this world. The only remaining advantage is as a site for my future research. There’s no point in keeping it separate. I might as well merge it and see what kind of feedback it produces.”

With that, Isaac turned to Philo. It wasn’t just Angel who needed time; Philo did too. However, her population could be transferred gradually during the integration period, so the impact wouldn’t be significant. Still, he needed to ask. ”And you?”

”It doesn’t affect me. The integration process is quite long, so just go with your timeline.”

”Alright. In that case, we’ll begin setting up the integration ritual in three years.” After speaking, Isaac transformed into a streak of light and shot straight into the Little World. He couldn’t wait to start researching his new findings!
