A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 293: Chapter 293: Reaping What You Sow (Part 2)

”Seraphina Sterling, when you make a mistake, you should accept the punishment! Mr. Quinn is being magnanimous by only asking you to apologize. That’s your good fortune! This was your fault from the start! Hurry up and apologize to Mr. Quinn! Beg for his forgiveness, or people who don’t know any better might think all of us from the Sterling family are cowards who won’t own up to their actions, just like you!”

Faye Sterling fanned the flames from the sidelines, her expression and demeanor absolutely perfect for the part! So, it turned out Faye Sterling’s consummate acting skills were inherited from Jasmine Faulkner! It’s truly like mother, like daughter. They could both lie with such a straight face, without so much as a blush or a hitch in their breath! It would be a real waste if someone with such talent didn’t go into acting!

”Looks like there are some reasonable people in the Sterling family after all. Seraphina Sterling, Madam Sterling and this Miss Sterling are right. If you know what’s good for you, you’ll obediently get on camera and apologize to Mr. Quinn today! Let me tell you, right now it’s just me coming to you, and I’m only making you kowtow and apologize to Mr. Quinn! If you don’t do as you’re told today, when Mr. Quinn himself comes for you, things won’t be this simple!”

Peter Quinn gave a sinister smile. ”By then, even if you wanted to kowtow and apologize to Mr. Quinn, I’m afraid he wouldn’t even give you a second glance! Mr. Quinn wouldn’t even give you the chance! It’ll be too late then! The Sterling Family is a top-tier family in Aethelgard. The business world is so competitive these days; it’s not easy for the Sterling Family to maintain its place among the elite. If the Sterlings suffer any kind of misfortune because of you, then you’ll be a traitor to the Sterling family!”

The banquet hall fell utterly silent. Most of the guests at this birthday party were from prominent families of similar standing to the Sterlings. Now, hearing that a member of the Quinn family was actually going to move against the Sterling Family, the hall became deathly quiet. In Aethelgard, the Quinn Family was an untouchable force. As the saying goes, it’s easy to get things done when you have friends in high places. Every single person here, without exception, didn’t dare to cross the Quinn family!

Everyone looked at Seraphina Sterling with faces full of pity. This girl was truly unlucky. Of all the people to offend, she had to offend Mr. Quinn! It looked like she would be another one sacrificed by her family. When a child’s fate was weighed against the family’s interests, the family always came first.

But Seraphina Sterling remained completely composed, as if she hadn’t heard a thing. She clearly wasn’t taking Peter Quinn’s threats seriously at all! The crowd couldn’t help but admire her mental fortitude. To remain so unfazed in a situation like this!

”I wasn’t raised to be scared! You want me to apologize? Impossible!” Seraphina’s rejection was firm. ”Master Quinn, if you’re getting on in years, you shouldn’t be wandering about. You should stay where you belong! People say that an old mind doesn’t work so well, and today I’ve experienced that firsthand. It’s true! I didn’t scratch Martin Quinn’s Maybach! You can’t even investigate something this simple, yet you still have the nerve to run around showing off that you’re one of the Quinn family?”

Seraphina Sterling frowned, a faint smile on her face laced with thick sarcasm. ”You’ve completely disgraced the name of Aethelgard’s elite families! Let me give you some advice: stop trying to suck up to Mr. Quinn. You’d be better off staying far, far away from him! Do you know why? Because if Mr. Quinn found out you did something so stupid while invoking his name, he’d probably throw you right off this third-floor balcony! Your actions are seriously dragging down his IQ!”

Peter Quinn’s arrogant, wild expression instantly darkened. ”Seraphina Sterling, you’re courting death!” With that, Peter Quinn lunged forward, raised his arm, and swung a hard slap at Seraphina’s face!

The crowd instinctively shut their eyes. That fatty, Peter Quinn, might not have much else going for him, but he was strong. And not just ordinarily strong, but exceptionally so! If that slap landed on Seraphina Sterling’s delicate face, it would surely knock her out cold!
