A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 282: Chapter 282: A Feud Kicked Off (6)

”However, I do apologize for my tardiness. Something happened that was completely out of my hands. But I will make Mr. Quinn feel that waiting this long was worth his while!” Seraphina Sterling took out her business proposal, and their negotiation began.

Keystone Technologies was a rising tech company in Aethelgard. It was a medium-sized enterprise, but it showed immense potential, with profits that surpassed even some of the renowned corporations of prominent families. It had taken less than two years for the mid-sized software company to successfully go public. Its prospects were excellent.

However, while the company’s leader, Chester Sykes, was a genius in programming and software development, his management skills were sorely lacking, a weakness that became glaring as the company expanded. Chester Sykes’s inexperience in management quickly manifested in every aspect of the company, with the most severe problem being internal division. This infighting directly led Keystone Technologies into a fatal crisis.

The company’s co-founder suddenly left Keystone Technologies, taking his entire R&D team with him, which caused the company’s stock price to plummet. The original development plan slowed to a crawl. Worst of all, the departing team took the company’s research and development results with them. In the software development industry, everything depends on speed and innovation.

Their development pace had slowed, making it impossible to enter the market on schedule. Compounding this were the leaked programs and a continuously falling stock price. On top of all that, it seemed someone was covertly acquiring company shares. Chester Sykes no longer had the capital to stabilize the stock price. If things went on like this, bankruptcy was the only possible outcome for Keystone Technologies.

Keystone Technologies was the culmination of Chester Sykes’s hard work over the past few years; he couldn’t just stand by and watch his business collapse! The thing was, when it came to programming, no technical challenge could stump him. But when it came to saving the company, the solutions he could come up with were truly limited. Business management was not his strong suit; otherwise, the perfectly healthy Keystone Technologies would never have ended up in this state.

After exhausting every possible option with no success, he suddenly received an email one day from someone claiming they could save the company. He had come to the meeting with a ’might as well try’ attitude. He just never expected the other party to be more than an hour late.

When the appointed time came and no one showed up, he was ready to leave. But the atmosphere here was just too relaxing. ’I’ve been mentally and physically exhausted over the company for months now,’ he thought. ’It’s nice to have such a great place to unwind.’ That was why he hadn’t left; he decided to just treat it as taking a day off.

Just when he had concluded the other party wasn’t coming, she actually appeared. ’She looks like she’s barely more than a kid, still wet behind the ears,’ he thought, his gut reaction telling him he’d been scammed. But then he saw her produce a business plan with a professional air, and even had a contract already prepared. Only then did Chester Sykes start to take her seriously.

The more he listened, the more shocked he became; he found it all to be increasingly incredible. Several times, he lost her train of thought completely and only understood after she paused to explain. By the end, he had utterly lost his dominant position and could only follow Seraphina Sterling’s lead. ’It can’t be helped,’ he lamented internally. ’There are so many management terms I’ve never even heard before, let alone know what they mean!’

The two of them talked from morning all the way into the afternoon. Only then did they finish going through the thick proposal in Seraphina Sterling’s hands. Incredibly, Chester Sykes hadn’t even taken a single restroom break.

”If you agree with my plan and are satisfied with my proposal, you can sign right now. Of course, if you can’t make a decision immediately, you can also go back and consider it carefully. I just hope you will give it your full consideration and make a decision in the shortest possible time. After all, for Keystone Technologies as it is now, time is life!”

Seraphina Sterling was being very considerate, not pressuring him to make a decision on the spot. Of course, this was also a tactic; the more eager she appeared, the more he could hold it over her. Conversely, this balanced attitude, alternating between pressure and ease, would actually make him more anxious.
