A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 252: Chapter 252: The Sinister Faye Sterling (Part 1)

Faye Sterling bustled about her room all afternoon, only emerging in the evening. She wore a light pink, puffy dress and a pair of pointed-toe crystal shoes. A sparkling diamond headpiece was nestled in her jet-black hair. Seraphina Sterling only needed a quick glance to tell the accessory was incredibly expensive—it couldn’t have cost less than three or four million.

Jasmine Faulkner doted on her daughter, and Owen Sterling granted his only daughter’s every wish. This was obvious from Faye Sterling’s daily expenditures—her clothes, shoes, and accessories were all from the most exclusive luxury brands. She was every bit the Miss Sterling.

Faye Sterling shot Seraphina Sterling a cool glance. ”Let’s go. My final grades were great this term, so Dad rewarded me with a new car. It’s a custom-modified sports car—not something you can buy with money alone! It requires status, position, and wealth! I’ll drive you. You can get a taste of my driving skills!”

Faye Sterling’s face was full of smug pride, her eyes flashing with scorn. ’Tonight, I’m going to make you feel the full extent of the gap between us. The difference in our status! What high society truly is! Even though you’re back, you’re still just an unpresentable nobody. You’ll never be able to fit into the upper class!’

Seraphina Sterling said nothing and simply opened the back door and got in. She knew exactly what Faye Sterling was thinking. She just felt that in her past life, she must have been truly blind to have treated Faye Sterling like a dear sister. Whatever she owned, she had made sure to set aside a portion for Faye. Little did she expect that in the end, Faye would even steal her husband. ’Thinking about it now, I can’t completely blame others for my fate. My own blindness played a huge part in it!’

”Seraphina Sterling, I’ll let it go for today, but for any future parties like this, you can’t dress so casually! You’re just in a dress—the quality might be decent, but it’s not even a designer brand! That’s unacceptable! When we get there, don’t speak if you don’t have to. Our social circle is completely new to you, and we talk about things only high society people are privy to. You wouldn’t know any of it, and if you open your mouth and embarrass yourself, I won’t be there to bail you out!”

Faye Sterling was furious. ’If Seraphina Sterling hadn’t returned, I’d be the only daughter of the Sterling Family, and the family’s entire fortune would be mine one day! But of course, that woman had to come back! Still, even though she’s back, I’ll use my own methods to make Seraphina understand that just having the Sterling surname doesn’t make her the great Miss Sterling, nor does it grant her a ticket into the world of the truly wealthy!’

”I know what to do,” Seraphina Sterling replied, her expression unchanged, her voice calm and even. ’Faye could only resort to petty, girlish tactics to try and bother her. She couldn’t care less about such childish schemes.’

Faye Sterling’s goal was to humiliate Seraphina Sterling, to make her understand her place and her lowly position in the Sterling Family. She wanted to prove that Seraphina could never compare to her! Seraphina’s mother was just an ordinary woman from a common background, while her own mother was the eldest daughter of the prestigious Faulkner Family. In terms of both wealth and power, the Faulkners were countless times greater than Kimberly Jennings! She wanted to hammer it into Seraphina’s head that she could never, ever reach her level.

’Anyone with a shred of self-awareness would feel so ashamed and inferior after my little speech that they wouldn’t be able to look me in the eye. But Seraphina Sterling didn’t react at all! Her tone didn’t even waver when she replied! Does she have no pride?’

’And what was up with that tone she used? It was like I was the chauffeur and she was the young miss sitting in the back!’ This realization infuriated Faye Sterling. She slammed her foot down on the gas pedal. The car, already a modified sports car, instantly rocketed down the street.
