A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 285: Chapter 285: Seeing Justin Hale Again (3)

Now, he was just a shareholder in Keystone Technologies. The company’s survival was no longer his concern, no longer his responsibility! The feeling of shedding such a heavy burden was simply liberating!

And just like that, a partnership was sealed. In only two hours, a publicly traded company had changed hands! Seraphina Sterling had been preparing for over half a year to finally bring Keystone Technologies, the future titan of consumer electronics, under her control!

Seraphina Sterling felt she was truly busy. ’My entire day is packed solid. The moment I left this morning, I was taken by Martin Quinn’s men to the Westbound Bar. I barely made it out of there alive, and then I came straight here to discuss the contract details with Chester Sykes! And just as this is wrapping up, there’s the Faulkner family’s birthday party!’ She could have completely ignored the invitation from Jasmine Faulkner and Faye Sterling, but she couldn’t disregard her grandfather’s wishes!

Since her grandfather wanted her to familiarize herself with high-society gatherings, she had to go, even if it was just to make the old man happy! And she would, despite knowing that Jasmine Faulkner and Faye Sterling had surely prepared something at the party to use against her.

The Stelluna Hotel in Aethelgard was far more luxurious than the one in Sanford. Though it was a national chain, the class and quality were on completely different levels! While the Faulkner family wasn’t holding the party at their home, they were still sparing no expense for this event, a clear sign of respect for their son. It was easy to see that while he might not be the family’s most beloved child, his status was by no means low.

Jasmine Faulkner and Faye Sterling had arrived early. They had been preparing for this day for far too long! In fact, the guest of honor at this birthday party was also an acquaintance of Seraphina’s. They had met before in Tollan Town, and their encounters had been far from pleasant! So, when Aiden Faulkner heard that his aunt and younger cousin wanted to deal with Seraphina Sterling, he’d immediately given his full support! In a way, today’s birthday party was being held specifically for Seraphina by the three of them.

Though the guest list was short, every name on it carried significant weight. It wasn’t like Fiona Chapman’s birthday party, where anyone who could be useful to the Chapman family’s business was invited, regardless of their standing. The Chapman family, on the one hand, wanted to announce to the world that they had broken into the ranks of Aethelgard’s elite families, establishing themselves as the city’s new money. As a result, their guest list had been incredibly mixed.

But Aiden Faulkner was different. The people he invited were all from Aethelgard’s truly powerful and established families, not the nouveau riche. Even among the elite, there were hierarchies. The Faulkner and Sterling families were considered top-tier, and their invitations went out to those of the upper and middle echelons. In the deep waters of Aethelgard’s high society, the Chapman family was nothing. The Faulkners didn’t even give them a second thought.

If Seraphina Sterling were to be humiliated on such an occasion, the damage to her reputation would be nearly impossible to repair. The truly elite families all possessed a certain arrogance and a severe clannishness. If Seraphina wanted to enter their high society again and gain their acceptance, it would become incredibly difficult. In that case, even if she was a Miss Sterling, she would not be acknowledged by the elite. If people looked down on her and refused to associate with her, then what was the point of being Miss Sterling at all?

However, the party was already more than halfway over, and Seraphina Sterling still hadn’t even shown her face. The little drama they had prepared couldn’t be staged. Faye Sterling was starting to lose her patience.

”Mom, don’t tell me Seraphina Sterling isn’t actually coming. The party’s more than halfway done. If she were coming, wouldn’t she have been here by now?”

”Relax, she’ll definitely come. If it were just our invitation, she might very well have skipped it. But the Old Master has spoken. She’ll show up, even if it’s only to give him face. You can rest assured of that.”

Jasmine Faulkner had figured out Seraphina Sterling’s character completely. If she hadn’t been certain that Seraphina would come, she never would have planned to make her move at the birthday party.
