A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 279: Chapter 279: Kicked-Up Enmity (3)

A chill ran down Seraphina Sterling’s spine. ’This man is truly difficult to handle! As expected of the future heir to the Quinn Family, his commanding presence is absolutely unparalleled!’

It felt like standing on a small, drifting boat, watching a monstrous wave surge toward you with no power to change a thing. All you could do was watch helplessly as it approached, awaiting your fate to be swallowed by the sea.

Seraphina Sterling did her best to suppress the fear in her heart. ”I think it would be best for you to investigate this matter thoroughly, Mr. Quinn. I can only say that I was indeed at the scene when your prized car was scratched. I trust that with your capabilities, it should be quite easy to find out who previously owned the car I’m driving now!”

”Are you telling me what to do?” Martin Quinn’s deep voice rose slightly, and the temperature in the private room seemed to drop another degree. The man’s presence was simply overwhelming. A single sentence, a single expression from him, was enough to strike fear into everyone’s hearts.

Seraphina Sterling’s heart sank further. ’I have no idea where his limits are. This man is a lunatic; you can’t predict his actions using common sense! I have no clue what he’ll do next!’

”I just don’t want you to be deceived, Mr. Quinn! If the great Mr. Quinn can’t even get his revenge on the right person, wouldn’t that be a little... degrading?”

Suddenly, after Seraphina Sterling spoke, the already tense atmosphere in the private room grew even more silent and oppressive, making it hard to breathe.

”You’re unbelievably arrogant!” The moment Martin Quinn finished speaking, the man who had led Seraphina Sterling in launched a sudden, ferocious attack. He showed absolutely no mercy just because she was a young woman.

Seraphina Sterling’s slender frame moved with agility, dodging his attacks. Though his strikes were powerful and fierce, he couldn’t land a single blow. Seraphina showed no mercy, either. When anyone dared to attack her, she went all out to teach them a lesson. ’The best outcome would be for him to walk the other way the next time he sees me.’

Watching Seraphina Sterling’s agile movements, Martin Quinn finally began to take her seriously. Among the wealthy elite, never mind the women—even most men didn’t possess her level of skill. At best, they knew some half-baked martial arts, enough to handle petty thieves and street punks. But against an expert like Leo Warren, they’d be finished in just a few moves.

Not only was Seraphina Sterling evading Leo Warren’s attacks unscathed, but she had also managed to land several hits—all on his vital spots. ’This Seraphina Sterling must have had formal combat training,’ Martin thought. ’But she’s just a rich heiress. Why would she endure so much hardship to practice fighting? This is getting rather interesting!’

After watching the ”show” for long enough, Martin Quinn made his move, lunging between the two to separate them. His timing, however, was a little off. Seraphina had been aiming a side kick at Leo Warren, but because of Martin’s sudden intervention, her foot connected squarely with his leg instead.

The two of them stopped fighting, but the situation that followed was even more awkward than the fight itself. Seraphina could only curse her rotten luck. ’Before this, Martin Quinn and I had no real feud. But now? We definitely have one, and I’m the one who literally kicked it into existence! This is so much more serious than a scratched car!’

Facing Martin Quinn’s grim, ice-cold expression, Seraphina Sterling could only squint and offer a guilty smile. ”Uh, an accident! That was a complete accident! I was trying to kick him! I just didn’t expect you to suddenly appear! All I can say is, you’re just too fast! So fast I didn’t even have time to react!”
