Reincarnated as a Lizard

”Hm? That little lizard sure does run fast.” At the same time that Scaly had begun her retreat towards the swamp that she deemed her best chance of escaping, the powerful human turned to look in her direction while he used a single hand to knock the gnoll chieftain and the forest rabbit lord into the ground.

Whoosh-!

Getting back up to resume their attack on him, the man didn’t even bother to turn and look at the two, as a strange power enveloped his arms before he grabbed hold of both of them. Instantly stopping the two in their track before they could do anything.

R-roar!

S-s-squeak!

Feeling the terrifying power of the human that now held both of them and prevented them from moving, the two monsters finally seemed to realize that they didn’t even have the ability to fight back against him when working together.

Not to mention continue working together to fight back, at this point in time, the two of them just wanted to get free from the terrifying grip and run away as fast as possible-

ROOOAR!

SQUEEEAK!

BANG!

And as if coming to a tacit understanding, both of them decided to use all of their strength at the same time to break free from the terrifying grip of the human. Succeeding just as the human in question turned around to refocus his attention on the two of them.

Whoosh-!

Whoosh-!

However, at that point in time, it was too late to stop both of them, as they had already broken free from the grip and ran with all their power towards the forest in the distance. Leaving the powerful human to choose between chasing after Scaly who was heading towards the swamp or chasing after the gnoll chieftain and forest rabbit lord escaping in the opposite direction where the forest was located.

”How troublesome, I didn’t expect those two to be smart enough to work together to break free...” Shaking his head as he muttered this to himself, the powerful human didn’t even hesitate for a second as he chased after the gnoll chieftain and the forest rabbit lord.

After all, no matter how precious the unique scales on Scaly’s body might be in his eyes, the value of a gnoll chieftain and a forest rabbit lord far exceed them in his eyes. Especially considering that the size of the other two monsters would yield far more materials than a small lizard like Scaly.

Of course, this was only because he had no idea about the fact that Scaly’s blood carried the noble dragon lineage.

If he did, he would have done everything in his power to catch her, as dragon blood, even if diluted, was one of the most precious materials in the world.

”Galahad, go after that lizard!”

Of course, going after the gnoll chieftain and the forest rabbit lord didn’t mean that he intended to give up on getting his hands on Scaly, as he called out to the human knight who had just handed the half dead acolyte over to one of the guards at the entrance to the town.

”Yes!”

Hearing the command, Galahad didn’t dare to hesitate as he turned around and reactivated the skill that covered him in flames before chasing after Scaly who had managed to get a relatively good head start.

Hehe, he won’t be able to catch up to me with such a large distance alrea-

Not even managing to finish her thoughts, Scaly’s expression soon turned into disbelief, as she saw the human knight who had just barely been on par with her in terms of speed before, shrink the distance between them at a terrifying speed.

Not to mention reaching the swamp and finding a place to hide, she doubted she would even get there before the knight human caught up to her!

How did his speed increase by so much all of a- Ah... the other human he was carrying earlier... His speed was reduced because of carrying that other human earlier...!

As she thought about it for a few seconds while continuing towards the swamp, Scaly realized the reason for the human knight’s sudden increase in speed as she saw the half dead trainee acolyte being carried into the town by another group of humans.

In the end, she could only hope for the best as she continued rushing towards the swamp with all her might.

After all, even if she was confident in fighting with the human knight, she didn’t dare continue staying around the human town, as she had no idea if another terrifying human like the one currently chasing after the gnoll chieftain, and the forest rabbit lord would appear.

Swish-!

In the end, she just barely managed to enter the swamp when the human knight caught up with her and slashed towards her with his sword-

Thud~

That she managed to dodge by going under a fallen tree trunk that perfectly stopped the sword while also buying her a few seconds to continue her escape as the human knight pulled his sword out of the half rotten wooden trunk.

Although part of her had also wanted to turn around and take advantage of the sword being stuck in the tree trunk to attack, she still felt that she was far too close to the edge of the swamp to start fighting with the human knight.

Even if she ended up winning the battle, it would be easy for him to retreat. Leaving her with nothing to gain and possibly even endangering herself due to the swamp puppies lurking around ready to play inside the swamp.

Wait... Those swamp alligators... Can’t I make use of them to fight this human?

Narrowing both her eyes as she thought about this to herself, Scaly seemed to have come up with a plan as she made her way towards the swamp water that she knew was filled to the brim with excited swamp puppies ready to play with anyone who wanted to join them for a swim.
