Reincarnated as a Lizard

Even with all of this and the injured forest rabbit in question being the one blocking her path forward, Scaly could not help feeling a bit hesitant as she noticed that the battle between the gnoll chieftain and forest rabbit lord seemed to have moved closer to the location of the injured forest rabbits.

Rustle~!

However, this hesitation didn’t last for long as she suddenly heard the sound of a forest rabbit approaching from behind. Even if she wanted to retreat at this point in time, there would be no way to do so without being noticed-

Swish-!

Squeak!?

And with this in mind, Scaly jumped out from her cover directly towards the big forest rabbit with a missing leg. Taking full advantage of the fact that it had its movement hindered by its missing leg to slip past it and into the group of injured forest rabbits before it had a chance to stop her!

Realizing the urgency of the situation upon seeing Scaly already inside the group of injured forest rabbits, the injured forest rabbit did its best to alert the others to what was happening, as it let out a loud squeak that momentarily overshadowed the sound of the battle between the gnolls and forest rabbits.

Squeak? Squeak!

Squeeaaak!

Squeak!

As a result, the attention of the three other big forest rabbits instantly rushed over. Unfortunately, it was already too late, as Scaly had managed to successfully reach the injured forest rabbits and now had nothing standing between them...

Squea-

Ptsh!

And with a pained squeak that didn’t even have time to finish, the first injured forest rabbit was killed by Scaly before she turned her attention towards the next forest rabbit. Intending to kill as many as possible before the forest rabbit lord showed up and forced her to escape.

...

SQUUUUEEEEAK!

Back at the main part of the battlefield where the gnoll chieftain and the forest rabbit lord were fighting with each other, the loud squeak of the injured big forest rabbit in charge of guarding the rest of the injured forest rabbits momentarily caused the fighting to stop as everyone turned to look in the direction of the loud sound. Including the gnoll chieftain and the forest rabbit lord.

SQUEAK!?

ROAR?!

There, they both saw the now all too familiar lizard ramping through the injured forest rabbits while using its claws to cut down any forest rabbit in its path while keeping the stronger big forest rabbits at bay by conjuring up both simple water balls that could be blocked relatively easily and more dangerous water spears that could even threaten the lives of the strong big forest rabbits.

At this point in time, Scaly had not just offended the gnolls of the forest, but she had also offended the forest rabbits, the two overlords who had been fighting for supremacy over the forest itself!

””...””

As a result of this, the gnoll chieftain and the forest rabbit lord shared a silent glance with each other as they came to an agreement that had never happened since the feud between the two of them began.

No matter what, they had to get rid of that lizard before it ended up causing any more damage!

Roar!

Squeak!

And so, with a new alliance established on the boundaries of eliminating Scaly, the two kings of the forest worked together for the first time in their lives as they rushed towards Scaly side by side while ignoring the surprised glances of their subordinates, who had no clue what to do after seeing their two leaders rushing forward side by side.

Never in their wildest dreams had they ever imagined that the two who had been fighting to the death only a few seconds earlier would suddenly come to a truce and work together.

...

Hm? Why did those four retreats? Did something happen?

[*Ding* Reached level 12]

Finishing off a big forest rabbit that allowed her to directly reach level 12, Scaly could not help feeling a bit confused as she felt the four forest rabbits that had been chasing after her like their lives depended on it only a second ago had suddenly retreated for no reason.

Although she wanted nothing more than to continue increasing her strength by killing the weakened forest rabbits, a feeling that something bad was about to happen suddenly overwhelmed her entire being, as she forced herself to stop and observe her surroundings in search of where this feeling might have come from-

Ah!? Why, why is the forest rabbit lord working together with gnoll chieftain!?

And as a result, she managed to spot the gnoll chieftain and the forest rabbit lord both rushing over in her direction filled with killing intent.

Not only was it bad because it ruined her plan of escaping in a similar fashion as she had done the last time around by making use of the forest rabbit lord to stop the gnoll chieftain from chasing after her, but it also meant that she would now have to escape from both the gnoll chieftain and the forest rabbit lord at the same time!

Whoosh-!

So even though there was still a lot of distance between the two and her, Scaly didn’t think twice to turn around and escape in the opposite direction of the two-

So, that is where you went...

However, as she did this, she realized that her path forward had been blocked by the four big forest rabbits who had suspiciously stopped chasing after her not too long ago. Making her painfully aware that she was now stuck between a rock and a hard place.

No matter what she tried to do at this point, it would be hard for her to escape from her current situation and fighting was even less of an option considering that it seemed like she had become the sole enemy of both the forest rabbits and the gnolls!
