Reincarnated as a Lizard

Faced with the four big forest rabbits blocking her path, Scaly didn’t intend to just sit around and wait for the gnoll chieftain and forest rabbit lord to reach her, as she rushed directly towards the four big forest rabbits. Intending to take advantage of their current injured state to get past them without wasting too much time for the two chasing her from behind to catch up-

Squeak!

Ptsh-!

However, before she had the time to put this plan into action, a rabbit squeak sounded out right next to her before she suddenly felt something sharp suddenly cut into her body.

Wha-!? One of them managed to sneak up on me!?

Taken aback by the sudden attack, Scaly felt her survival instincts kick in as she rapidly retreated while at the same time spinning around to see who had injured her.

A new rabbit...?

In the end, what she saw was a forest rabbit covered in completely black fur that she had never seen before during the past two hours of observing the battle between the forest rabbits and the gnolls.

Not just was the color of its fur a different color, but it was also smaller than the big forest rabbits while being smaller than the normal forest rabbits. At the same time, the feeling of danger she felt from it was far above that of the big forest rabbits.

[Forest Lurker, lvl 27]

[Description: Instead of following the normal path of evolution of a forest rabbit, a forest lurker is a special solitary forest rabbit that roams by itself and specializes in assassination. At the same time, due to its solitary nature it does not follow the forest rabbit lord if one happens to emerge. Harder to find than a forest rabbit lord and can be found roaming the world by itself, one of the more sought-after delicacies among human nobles and royalty. In rare circumstances, it will lend a hand to other forest rabbits in danger.]

Doing a quick glance over the description of the new forest rabbit that had appeared and injured her without her noticing it, Scaly could not help silently cursing at her luck as she felt the gaze of the new assassin type forest rabbit fully locked on to her.

Even without asking, it was easy to guess that the only reason that this forest rabbit decided to attack her was because of what she had done to the injured forest rabbits.

If not for that, it might have never gotten involved, as it had clearly ignored the battle between the forest rabbits and the gnolls so far. Only showing up after she had reaped the lives of dozens of injured forest rabbits who didn’t have the ability to fight back.

Squeak...

As their gazes met each other, the assassin type forest rabbit let out a far too cool sounding squeak as it shook its head in pretentious manner before casually waving one of its claws at her. Daring her to come and fight it.

What in the world... Is there perhaps something wrong with the head of this rabbit? Does it perhaps think I want to stay here and fight it with those two rushing over?!

Not knowing what to do when faced with this kind of behavior from a rabbit, Scaly just turned around and continued to rush towards the four big forest rabbits who were still blocking her escape path.

Although part of her wanted to teach the arrogant little rabbit a lesson, she also understood that her chances of escaping from the gnoll chieftain and forest rabbit lord would be reduced to zero if she stayed any longer.

Squeak!?

Seemingly not having expected her to reject its pretentious challenge, the forest lurker let out a surprised squeak as it looked at Scaly rapidly rushing towards the four big forest rabbits who were fully prepared to stop her from running away-

SQUEAK-!

And a few seconds later, it erupted with rage as it chased after Scaly.

Unfortunately, even though it had the ability to sneak up on her and launch a successful sneak attack, its speed was nowhere near Scaly. Forcing it to rely on the fact that Scaly would have to face the four big forest rabbits if it wanted to catch up to her.

Whoosh~!

Knowing this as well, Scaly didn’t waste any time as she directly decided to use all of her mana to conjure up several water spears for each of the big forest rabbits blocking her path. Intending to use everything she had to break through the blockade formed by the four with brute force.

The simple reason for this being that she simply couldn’t afford to do anything else with the gnoll chieftain and forest rabbit leader rapidly approaching from behind!

Swish-!

Swish-!

Swish-!

As a result of this, over a dozen water spears soon flew out towards the four big forest rabbits filled with everything she could muster in her short approach of the four.

Squeak!?

Squeak!

Seeing this, the four big forest rabbits also understood her intentions, as they all prepared to meet the water spears head on-

Ptsh! Ptsh! Ptsh!

[Gained 235 Exp]

However, the water spears that Scaly had used all of her mana to create were far more powerful than the big forest rabbits had expected, as the strongest among them missing a leg and a weaker one whose injures flared up faced with the water spears, were skewered by the water spears. Dying on the spot.

As for the remaining two who had managed to hold on against Scaly’s water magic...

Squaaak!

S-squeak...!

They were far too weak to block her as she took full advantage of their injured state to rush past them and into the thick foliage not too far away. Not daring to stop escaping after getting past the four big forest rabbits, as she knew that her escape was still far from over, with one major problem still being around... And that was the smelling ability of the gnolls, an ability that the gnoll chieftain had undoubtedly perfected as the strongest gnoll!
