Reincarnated as a Lizard

Looking at the bloody trail that had been left behind by whatever was behind the disappearance of the dead rabbits, Scaly froze on the spot after noticing a rather familiar looking object not too far away from the bloody trail, a weapon covered in rust with a chipped blade that made it no different from a blunt weapon.

Gnolls! That weapon is definitely a weapon used by gnolls!

Narrowing both her eyes as she thought about this, Scaly didn’t waste any time as she decided to follow the bloody trail in search of the gnolls who had been bold enough to steal her prey.

Given how far away she was from the small gnoll tribe she had already terrorized, the gnolls behind the theft of the rabbits should belong to another tribe... And although she understood that this tribe might be far stronger than the one, she had encountered, she also understood that it was a chance for her to grow stronger.

Even if she couldn’t take on the entire tribe, she at least had the ability to hunt down a few gnolls before being noticed.

Squeak!?

As she set off following the bloody trail, Scaly happened to run into a random forest rabbit that was unfortunate enough to cross her path.

Whoosh~

Ptsh-!

Chomp! Chomp~ Chomp~

And wasting no time, Scaly finished off the unfortunate forest rabbit before satiating her hunger with a look of amazement plastered all over her little scaly face. Not able to believe that the deliciousness of the forest rabbit was almost comparable to that of the sun crabs.

Indeed, like the description of the forest rabbit had said, it was indeed a delicious monster worthy of the delicious tag given by the description. At least so far, the description hasn’t missed a single time in this respect.

Rustle~!

[Forest Rabbit, lvl 6]

No later than her chomping down on the last bit of the forest rabbit, did another forest rabbit suddenly emerge from the bushes next to her with a confused expression that soon morphed into one of horror upon discovering the dead forest rabbit left with nothing more than its bones following Scaly’s eating every edible part of it.

Squeak? SQUEAK!?

Whoosh-!

Realizing the danger of its current situation, the forest rabbit immediately turned around and escaped in the direction it had come from-

Ptsh!

Unfortunately, it was too late and couldn’t escape Scaly’s water spear. Dying on the spot without being able to put up the slightest bit of resistance in the face of the much stronger Scaly.

Time to-

About to continue on her journey follow the bloody trail after killing the forest rabbit, Scaly momentarily came to a stop as she began to unconsciously move in the direction of the now dead forest rabbit.

Hm... Another one won’t hurt... Not to mention, the bloody trail isn’t going to disappear anytime soon and the gnolls won’t be leaving their tribe after returning with the rabbits. Ah! I also have to make sure I have a full stomach so I can fight properly!

Rationalizing her behavior to herself as she soon found herself directly in front of the dead forest rabbit, Scaly didn’t waste any time as she happily chomped down on the second forest rabbit.

Chomp! Chomp!

Soon enough, only the sound of Scaly happily devouring the second forest rabbit echoed out across the forest before everything fell silent a few minutes later as the second forest rabbit was similarly reduced to nothing more than bones.

Now, time to-

Squeak?!

Ah... Ma-maybe just one more...

SQUEAK!?

Swish-!

Ptsh!

Chomp~!

...

At the same time that Scaly was busy chomping down on the third forest rabbit while rationalizing her excessive consumption as needed to be fully prepared for hunting down gnolls, the big forest rabbit that had followed behind the group of gnolls carrying away the dead bodies of the rabbits that had fallen to Scaly, arrived in front of a large tribe far larger than the gnoll tribe Scaly had encountered.

Not only were there hundreds of gnolls present in this tribe, but the tribe itself was also surrounded by a wooden wall made of tree logs that had been driven into the ground close together.

Although this was by no way an impressive wall and wouldn’t be able to stop most monsters present in the forest, it was still an impressive feat of engineering for a group of gnolls that by most accounts were considered to be nothing more than mindless monsters without a gnoll shaman around.

Squeak...

Seeing the impressive wall and the large number of gnolls entering and leaving the tribe, the big forest rabbit also let out a fearful squeaking sound as it wasted no time in turning around and escaping in the direction it had come from.

Different from Scaly who didn’t know a lot about gnolls, the big forest rabbit, having lived inside the forest for a long time, understood full well what a gnoll tribe of that size meant.

Not just did the gnoll tribe have an impressive shaman far smarter and stronger than the one Scaly had encountered, but a gnoll tribe of that size almost certainly had a powerful gnoll chieftain at the lead. Only this way would it be possible for so many gnolls to gather together in a single location!

Rustle~

Escaping from the gnoll tribe, the big forest rabbit didn’t have time to get far before a sudden resulting from a bush next to it alerted it about the presence of another monster.

Squeak...?

Knowing that it wouldn’t be able to escape if it had been discovered, the big forest rabbit steeled itself as it slowly approached the bush in question-

Squeak-!

However, before it had a chance to attack or panic, the familiar rabbit far larger than itself appeared from the bushes-

Squeak!

Squeaaak~

Squeeeaak!

And following behind it, countless rabbits appeared from the surrounding forest. From big forest rabbits to normal smaller forest rabbits, the number of rabbits present soon grew from a few dozen to hundreds!
