Reincarnated as a Lizard

Growl?

As she got closer to the group of injured gnolls, the gnoll shaman that had been tending to the injured gnolls suddenly stood up as a frown appeared on its face.

Although it had not noticed Scaly approaching, it clearly felt a distinct killing intent locking on to the injured gnolls from somewhere on the chaotic battlefield, the only problem was, it couldn’t pinpoint the location of this killing intent and could only raise its guard in preparation for dealing with the forest rabbit that had set its eyes on dealing with the injured gnolls under its protection...

Huh?! How did it notice me?!

At the same time, Scaly could not help freezing on the spot upon noticing the cautious appearance of the gnoll shaman just as she was about to start her attack. Not understanding how the other party had managed to notice her-

No, it doesn’t seem like it noticed me, it should have just sensed that someone was targeting the injured gnolls Hm... Does gnoll shamans perhaps have some kind of danger sensing skill?

Narrowing both of her eyes as she thought about this, Scaly realized that it would be harder to kill the injured gnolls than she had first imagined... And at the same time, she also understood why only a single gnoll shaman had been left behind to protect them.

Getting through the gnoll shaman would be hard. Especially now that she knew about its danger sensing skill and-

Wait... Why am I so hesitant about this? Even if the gnoll shaman is hard for me to kill, I don’t have to fight it and can just avoid it while killing the injured gnolls...

Feeling like she had been acting far too out of character as she thought about this, Scaly realized that she had been affected by the terrifying battle taking place between the forest rabbit lord and the gnoll chieftain.

Unconsciously, she had begun to act extremely cautiously and cowardly ever since arriving at the massive battlefield out of an inherent fear of attracting the attention of these two powerful monsters.

Although this kind of reaction could be considered normal, it was not in line with Scaly’s image of herself as a proud (future) dragon!

It was one thing if she had been trying to ambush one of the two and decided to lay low looking for an opportunity to kill them, it was completely different now that she had been doing her best to hide herself and not daring to stand out due to the inherent fear that one of the two would notice her and hunt her down.

No! If I want to become stronger, I should not act so cowardly! I should face everything head on, and if one of the two notices me, I can always make a tactical retreat to properly digest my gain before looking for the two of them in the future!

Smiling proudly to herself as she thought about this, Scaly was filled with renewed energy, as she decided to increase her speed and charge directly towards the injured gnolls without the slightest hint of fear on her face. Fully focused on reaching the injured gnolls who would serve as a way to rapidly increase her strength and get her one step closer to being strong enough to face the gnoll chieftain and the rabbit lord.

GROOOOWL!?

[Forest Gnoll Shaman, lvl 37]

Of course, with Scaly no longer bothering to hide herself and instead boldly charging towards the injured gnolls, the gnoll shaman guarding the injured gnolls instantly noticed her, as it stepped forward to block her with a ferocious expression on its face and a hint of confusion after seeing that it was not a forest rabbit but a small lizard rushing towards it.

Swish-!

Taking advantage of this confusion, Scaly used her water magic to conjure up a dozen water balls before sending all of them flying towards the gnoll shaman-

Whoosh~!

BANG!

Giving it little time to keep an eye on her as it was forced to use its own special magic to conjure up a strange looking talisman to block the water balls flying towards it.

In turn, allowing Scaly to take full advantage of the gnoll shaman’s momentary laps to slip past it and reach the first batch of badly injured gnolls hiding away behind it.

Groowl!?

Seeing this, the gnoll shaman quickly realized that it had messed up and turned around to catch up with Scaly-

Ptsh-!

Unfortunately, it was too late, as Scaly descended upon the injured gnolls like a reaper emerging from the depths of hell. Leaving them no chance of survival as she used her sharp claws to paint the nearby wooden wall red.

In turn, her level also began increasing at a terrifying speed as she easily killed the injured gnolls who pretty much had no ability to fight back against her, while the gnoll shaman was nowhere near fast enough to catch up to her and stop her.

During this process, Scaly also felt a clear increase in the strength of her magic following her level up to five. Confirming her earlier speculation that there was indeed a qualitive transformation taking place after her stat reached a hundred.

Squeak?

Grrr?

In turn, the massacre caused by Scaly ended up not only drawing the attention of the nearby gnolls, but also drew the attention of the forest rabbits. After all, in only a few short minutes, she had ended the life of countless gnolls and had inflicted more damage to the gnoll tribe than any single forest rabbit had. Soon even alerting the powerful gnolls and rabbits at the core of the battlefield.

ROOOAR-!

As a result of this, a primordial roar echoed out from the center of the battlefield, as the gnoll chieftain that was still fighting the forest rabbit lord also became aware of what had happened!
