Reincarnated as a Lizard

Squeak? Squeak!

Getting closer to the place where the injured forest rabbits were located, Scaly was forced to cut her approach short, as she ended up being spotted by one of the weaker forest rabbits...

Swish-!

PTSH-!

[Gained 56 Exp]

And in a desperate attempt to stop it from alerting the rest of the forest rabbits to her approach, Scaly didn’t hesitate in using a water spear to quickly kill off the weaker forest rabbit-

Squeak!

Squeak-!

Squeeaaak!

Unfortunately, it was too late, as the other nearby forest rabbits also noticed the abnormality and soon altered the rest of the forest rabbits to her presence. Instantly causing a large of forest rabbits to rush towards her.

Although they didn’t know what she was up to, it was clear that they suspected she was also targeting the injured forest rabbits. Especially considering that she had suddenly appeared only a short distance away from them.

In the end, due to her own impatience of wanting to reach the injured forest rabbits as fast as possible, Scaly ended up being chased away by a large number of forest rabbits, while the ones who remained quickly made sure that the number of forest rabbits guarding the injured forest rabbits doubled.

Under normal circumstances, this would have affected the overall state of the battlefield but given that the forest rabbits had been able to kill of a few of the stronger gnolls due to a certain lizard causing the gnoll chieftain to leave the core of the battlefield for a short period of time, it only caused the battle to return to its former state.

...

I was so close! Only a bit more and I would have been able to reach those injured forest rabbits!

Managing to escape from the relentless pursuit of the forest rabbits after running with all of her might for ten minutes straight, Scaly could not help silently crying out in regret at the lost opportunity to rapidly increase her strength a second time. Especially so when she glanced over at the heavily guarded area where the injured forest rabbits were located.

Even if she tried to forcefully rush in and kill as many injured forest rabbits as she could, it would not take long before eight big forest rabbits all above level 30 surrounded her and made escaping impossible. Even if her strength had increased quite a bit and she had confidence in facing two or maybe three of them at once, it was far from enough to face eight of them at once.

With this in mind, Scaly reluctantly decided to lay low for a bit and recover the mana and energy she had used so far.

At the same time, she also decided to take the opportunity to look over her status and see how much stronger she had become after her level had gone up by five in such a short period of time.

Stats

Name: Scaly

Race: Ancient Water Dragon Lizard

Level: 9/30, 2%

STR: 66 |VIT: 130| DEX: 51 | M: 126

Skills: [Dragon Bloodline lvl 3], [Flight lvl 1], [Water Magic lvl 7], [Poison Resistance lvl 2], [Claw Strike lvl 3]

Looking through her status, Scaly didn’t expect much to have changed outside of her normal stats, but upon closer inspection, she discovered that her claw strike skill had leveled up to three.

Hm... Is it perhaps because I used my claws while killing the injured gnolls? I wonder if the description of the skill changed now that its level increased...

Tilting her head with a curious look in her eyes, Scaly didn’t waste any time as she decided to inspect her claw strike skill to see if anything had changed after its unexpected level up.

[Claw Strike lvl 3]: The fundamental ability of any creature belonging to the dragon bloodline, the claw strike skill draws upon the strength of the dragon blood inside the body to strengthen the sharpness and power of your deadly dragon claws. The higher level the [Dragon Bloodline] skill is, the stronger the claw strike will be. In rare circumstances, the skill can be strengthened through bloodshed.

Narrowing both her eyes after seeing that something new had indeed appeared in the description of the claw strike skill, Scaly could not help feeling a sense of joy after realizing that it pretty much described how she had managed to level up the skill.

Strengthened through bloodshed...

Even if the chance of it was low, it was at least better than her having to rely on the few times that her dragon bloodline increased in strength to level it up.

Not to mention, given she needed to hunt down monsters to level up, even if it was rare, it shouldn’t be too difficult for her to level up her claw strike ability. Especially if she happened upon another group of injured gnolls in the future...

Feeling even more eager to continue going after the injured gnolls or forest rabbits after reading the new description of her claw strike skill, Scaly could not help staring towards the gnoll tribe in the distance that had been completely closed off and the large number of powerful forest rabbits at the edge of the battlefield protectively encircling the injured forest rabbits.

When I recover my full strength again, I will look for another opportunity to strike!

Rustle~

Along with this thought, Scaly made her way up the trunk of a nearby tree with a smaller forest rabbit in her mouth before finding a comfortable spot out of sight to observe the battle taking place below-

Chomp! Chomp~ Chomp~

And while enjoying the smaller forest rabbit with a blissful expression on her face, Scaly began the process of recovering the energy and mana she had used during her massacre of the injured gnolls, the escape from a certain gnoll chieftain before he could even begin to chase after her, and the final escape from the forest rabbits that she had ended up startling due to her own impatience.
