Reincarnated as a Lizard

Outside of the gnoll chieftain that she was already familiar with, Scaly unconsciously focused her attention on the massive rabbit that had been able to evenly fight the gnoll chieftain without showing any signs of being defeated.

[Forest Rabbit Lord, lvl 49]

[Description: A lord among forest rabbits that holds the unique ability to have other forest rabbits follow its command and work together as a single unit and will hunt down anyone daring enough to attack the rabbits under it.

Although far rarer than any other forest rabbits, it can still be found with relative ease inside larger forests and dungeons, though, due its strength being comparable to monster like gnoll chieftains and its special ability to gather other forest rabbits causing it to almost always be surrounded by a large number of forest rabbits, it is hard to take down without sufficient strength.]

Seeing the level and reading the description of the massive forest rabbit fighting equally against the gnoll chieftain, Scaly could not help feeling a shiver run down her spine, as she realized that the forest rabbit lord might have come after her if the gnolls hadn’t shown up and taken away the dead bodies of the forest rabbits that she had killed.

But... Even if it I managed to escape for now, the few forest rabbits that escaped might end up informing it about what happened after the battle ends...

Narrowing both her eyes as she thought about this, Scaly glanced across the battlefield between the gnolls and forest rabbits. Trying to see if she could spot the few forest rabbits who had managed to escape her anywhere on the battlefield-

They all look the same...

Unfortunately, she couldn’t tell one forest rabbit from the other, let alone identify the few forest rabbits that had managed to escape from her back then among the hundreds of forest rabbits on the battlefield. Especially considering that the ones on the battlefield had already been injured to some extent. Making it harder to spot the ones that had been fighting her not too long ago.

Hm? Already injured... Doesn’t that mean they will be easier to kill...?

As this thought popped into her head while looking over the battlefield, Scaly could not help turning her attention towards the forest rabbits and gnolls that had retreated to the back after being injured too much for them to continue fighting.

If she could reach either of the two groups of injured monsters, she would be able to easily kill them with her current strength and in turn experience a rapid growth in strength!

But...

By doing something like that, she would undoubtedly end up drawing the attention of the more powerful gnolls and rabbits on the battlefield-

[Forest Gnoll Shaman, lvl 35]

[Big Forest Rabbit, lvl 31]

[Forest Gnoll, Warrior, lvl 33]

[Big Forest Rabbit, lvl 34]

And just glancing over a few of them, Scaly understood that they were only a bit weaker than the group of humans she had seen hunting down rocky mountain lions around the human settlement she had first seen upon leaving the swamp filled with Swamp Alligators.

No matter how much stronger she had grown since her vitality managed to break through to a hundred, she understood very well that she wouldn’t be able to face those powerful rabbits and gnolls. Especially if there was more than one of them attacking her at once.

Will I really have to give up on those weakened gnolls and forest rabbits...?

Feeling reluctant to just give up on what was essentially a large amount of free exp that could potentially help increase her level several times over, Scaly glanced towards the group of injured gnolls that was located closest to her and was the easiest to reach, as a look determination appeared on her face.

Even if she knew the danger of launching a sneak attack on the injured gnolls who had gathered up close to the wall of the tribe where a gnoll shaman was guarding them and helping them recover, she was unwilling to let go of such a great chance to rapidly increase her strength.

As for the reason why, she decided to go after the gnolls who could in a sense be considered more difficult to reach compared to the injured forest rabbits that weren’t that far away from her either... That was because the forest rabbits were located outside the battlefield itself and were guarded by four powerful forest rabbits with equal strength to the single gnoll shaman guarding the injured gnolls.

Although it would be a bit harder to reach the injured gnolls as she would be forced to sneak her way through the bloody battlefield, it wasn’t that difficult considering her small size and the fact that the gnolls sense of smell had pretty much been rendered useless due to the large amount of blood and other things on the battlefield overwhelming their normally strong sense of smell.

It was also because of this that Scaly felt confident in being able to sneak through the battlefield undetected. If not, she would have had to try and go for the injured forest rabbits instead of the injured gnolls.

After all, if they managed to discover her in time, they could also call for help or try to get back into the tribe by braving through the large battle currently taking place around the entrance to the tribe.

Rustle~

With all of this in mind, Scaly rapidly scurried across the forest floor in the direction of the injured gnolls. Making sure to keep herself hidden beneath the foliage and other things covering the ground of the battlefield, while at the same time fighting her urge to jump out and kill any of the gnolls and forest rabbits she encountered along the way. After all, most of the forest rabbits and gnolls fighting across the battlefield were weaker than her and killing them would be an easy thing for her to do.

The only thing stopping her was the anticipation getting her hands on the large number of injured gnolls huddled together around the wall of their tribe, waiting for her to show up and claim their lives to further her own strength.
