Global Lords: I Have Information System

Chapter 467: Chapter 347: Bang City Prospects and the Airborne Trade Route Plan

Zong Shen’s gaze was deep as he stared at the sand table of the territory for a while.

Then he raised his head and looked at Hoy.

”Hoy, you are right.”

”However, I still have one question.”

”If our territory develops to the Bang City level in the future.”

”Will the Kingdom intervene with us?”

Zong Shen asked a sharp question. Currently, most Bang Cities within the Kingdom are held by the noble class.

For example, the power in Gothic Castle is in the hands of Viscount Hector, and the power in Boss Bang is held by Baron Bezos.

Behind this, there are figures of various royal families, forming a very solid chain of class interests.

Bang Cities mostly exist as hereditary fiefs for the heirs of major families, although there is no fixed concept of fiefs in this world. However, sometimes the presence of this concept is not important, but rather whether the matter itself exists.

And currently, my status in the Kingdom can only be regarded as a novice with no background or influence.

If my territory rapidly develops and reaches the Bang City level, and those Kingdom nobles want to come and pluck the fruits, it would be rather unpleasant.

Hearing Zong Shen’s question, Hoy hesitated for a moment.

There are many precedents of such matters on the continent, but the outcomes are not very favorable.

If a territory develops to the Bang City level, Kingdom forces will soon intervene. They will use various means to seize control of the Bang City.

Primarily, it is led by the active royal families in the area.

For the founders or actual controllers who developed it single-handedly, if they are sensible, they can still receive some compensation; if not, the outcome will be very miserable.

This is the stark reality. However, developing a Bang City level territory is not easy for the indigenous people. It requires decades of careful management and development.

This world is vast and has no shortage of arable land, so the population growth rate is also fast.

But this world is not only inhabited by humans; there are many alien races and various magical beasts.

The seemingly vast lands are actually not safe. Plus, most of the Kingdom’s wealth is controlled by various royal nobles, and throughout the Kingdom, roving bandits run rampant, especially in densely populated village and town areas.

For those nobles, a Bang City is equivalent to a treasure vault.

Bang Cities with fewer populations have over 100,000 people; those with larger populations can reach millions, if not several million in scale.

This standard range is quite large because regional differences throughout the continent create a variety of situations.

As for the population of Giant Cities, it starts at tens of millions. Some huge Giant Cities often house tens of millions or even hundreds of millions of people.

Seeing Hoy’s hesitation, Zong Shen came to understand.

Lords see indigenous people as granaries and stepping stones for development, and when they reach a certain level of development, there is also the potential for indigenous people to pluck their fruits.

”If you have no background or noble title, our territory will face some troubles in the future.”

”However, sir, as long as you establish good relations with local royal families and gain some privileges.”

”Or find a way to gain merit within the Kingdom and become a merit noble recognized by the Kingdom, then it will be logical to control a Bang City level territory.”

Hoy pondered for a moment and spoke frankly.

Zong Shen nodded silently; this is an unavoidable hurdle in the future development of the territory.

However, as a neutral camp force, lords do not necessarily rely on indigenous forces to develop. They can acquire recruitment scrolls and development resources through avenues such as points exchange, treasure chest opening, relic exploration, and market trade.

One can only say leveraging the indigenous people’s strength may gain more resources and faster development speed.

The pros and cons of this relationship and future development path choices depend on each lord themselves.

Thinking of this, Zong Shen couldn’t help but begin to contemplate the situation of his current area.

At the moment, Zong Shen’s area could still be considered sparsely populated by indigenous people.

Within the explored range, there are only three indigenous villages, and after Odu Village was removed, only two remain.

Of course, in the entire area, there are definitely more than these two or three indigenous villages.

After all, the area they descended into is a square region of 200 kilometers by 200 kilometers.

The location of Zong Shen’s territory should be in the northeastern part of the area.

Continuing east leads to Sitanos Village, which is also the direction towards Boss Bang.

The opposite, westward towards Odu Village, is the direction to the area’s central point, where Lentax Giant City is located.

North of the territory, after passing the Burial Ground, one can enter the northern forests within more than ten kilometers, where the mountains are sprawling and occupy a large range.

As for the south, the direction Zong Shen explored the least, he only fought some bandits and made a trip to Lake Heart Island, and additionally, Jiang Yi’s territory is to the southeast.

Moreover, there is a village named Dinan to the south that Zong Shen has never visited.

According to previous investigations by Tiezhu, continuing south from Dinan Village for over ten kilometers leads to a swamp surrounded by toxic mist, which acts like a dividing line blocking Tiezhu’s further southward progress.
