Chapter 463: Chapter 345: Kunyel’s Silver Coin, Meeting in the Forest

The young man showed no fear and advanced with his sword.

But the Lion Skeleton Knight Richardson hesitated, and the soul fire in its eyes flickered unsteadily.

This indicated that its state of mind was seriously affected.

The same was true for the skeleton warhorse beneath it, which began to unconsciously retreat.

The Skeleton Knight seemed to be struggling, raising and lowering its lance repeatedly. Although no expression could be seen on its skeletal face, everyone could sense the extreme inner conflict the terrifying Skeleton Knight was experiencing.

If it were an ordinary person daring to block its path, they would have long been skewered by its lance.

All the Dragon Descendant Knights could feel an inexplicable pressure emanating from the young man confronting the Skeleton Knight.

This pressure was so intense it caused palpitations, as if they were facing not a person but a terrifying Abyssal Great Demon.

Zong Shen himself felt a bit uneasy. His strategy to deal with the Lion Skeleton Knight Richardson was simply to use Demon Deterrence to expel it.

While most undead instinctively fear demons, this creature was no ordinary undead; it was a Great Undead in both power and origin.

He couldn’t be sure if Demon Deterrence would scare it away, as this tier of Great Undead might react with fierce resistance instead of fear.

Zong Shen’s palms were sweaty as he gripped the Royal Guard Battle Sword. Coming to Kunyel’s rescue was a risky move.

”Crack...”

The Lion Skeleton Knight slowly opened its jaw, producing a sound as joints and bones rubbed together.

The soul fire in its eyes fluttered intensely, indicating that it was in deep contemplation and decision-making.

Suddenly, the soul fire in its eyes blazed up, and it raised its broken lance, pointing it at Zong Shen from afar.

It viewed the Demon Deterrence as a taunt, preparing to launch a fierce attack.

The tip of the broken lance was completed with a dark red necromantic energy.

When Zong Shen found himself targeted by the lance, goosebumps erupted all over his body.

At this stage, showing weakness was not an option; he decided to make another effort.

He consciously increased the intensity of his Demon Deterrence.

Once again, the black Demon’s Heart throbbed, and everyone present seemed to hear the powerful rhythm of a strong heart beating, ”thump thump thump.”

The blood flow in Zong Shen’s body accelerated rapidly, veins bulged from his forehead, his blood pressure soared, and his breathing became noticeably short.

A phantom of a black heart appeared on his chest, and an immensely strong oppressive force was unleashed, washing over the Lion Skeleton Knight.

”Crack...”

Facing this formidable deterrence, Skeleton Knight Richardson ultimately yielded.

It turned its skeleton horse around, departing swiftly from the scene.

When faced with the deterrence of a Great Demon, this instinctive fear ingrained in its nature ultimately prevailed.

The terrifying Great Undead, Lion Skeleton Knight Richardson, chose to submit in the end.

Turning toward the northwest, its soul fire gradually dimmed, and its entire form was eventually swallowed by the night, disappearing without a trace.

Zong Shen quickly ceased his connection with the Demon’s Heart, and the Demon Deterrence completely dissipated.

”Hoo...”

He breathed lightly, as if he had just finished a long run, and made a concerted effort to calm his heartbeat and breathing.

Behind Zong Shen, the other Dragon Descendant Knights didn’t notice anything amiss; only Kunyel silently opened his helmet visor.

He had realized that the power the young man had emitted earlier was that of a demon.

However, he had little reaction to this, merely furrowing his brows as if something had occurred to him.

After slightly calming his breathing, Zong Shen turned around.

He nodded slightly to Kunyel and the Dragon Descendant Knights.

”Is everyone alright?”

”Occasionally, undead appear in this nearby burial ground.”

”The Skeleton Knight just now likely came from the Burial Ground.”

Zong Shen took the initiative to say, attempting to change the subject.

All the Dragon Descendant Cavalry removed their helmet visors, dismounted, and stood beside their warhorses, bowing toward Zong Shen.

”Thank you for saving our lives!”

Having just survived a life-or-death crisis, they only felt a void and relief from their narrow escape.

They didn’t have time to ponder how Zong Shen was able to scare away the Skeleton Knight.

At this moment, Kunyel also dismounted and approached Zong Shen.

As a captain and a Kingdom Viscount, he naturally had more experience than the average Dragon Descendant Knight.

He removed his helmet and tucked it under his left arm, his eyes scanned Zong Shen from head to toe.

Then, with his right hand clenched into a fist, he placed it over his left chest, bending his head to sincerely thank Zong Shen.

”Thank you, sir, for your rescue!”

”My name is Kunyel, and I am a captain from the Lentax Giant City Branch of the Dragon Descendant Knight Order.”

He expressed his gratitude with clear resolve, then raised his head to extend his right hand.

Zong Shen extended his hand to shake it; for Zong Shen, this was their second handshake.

But for Kunyel, it was the first.

”There’s no need to be so formal, Lord Kunyel.”

”The knights of the kingdom are tenacious and brave; it is you who protect the peace within the kingdom.”
