Celestial Night Emperor

Chapter 48: Chapter 48: Sent to the Rooftop, Yama’s Entrance

Inside the banquet hall, friends, family, and distinguished guests were already seated. The reporters and so-called ”influencers” invited by the Gu Family were primed and ready for action.

After all, they were paid to do a job.

Gu Yuxuan eagerly grabbed a microphone, adjusted his white suit, and began to speak with a suave, polished air.

”Friends, family, esteemed seniors of the business world, on behalf of the Gu Family, I’d like to say a few words!”

He held his head high. ”I’m sure you’ve all heard the recent rumors—that Han Biwei and I have an illegitimate daughter. Many media outlets have been asking for an interview about this. So now, I’ll make it clear in front of all of you: I have absolutely nothing to do with Han Biwei!”

At this, his eyes filled with scorn. ”You all know Han Biwei’s current situation. If you don’t, feel free to look it up. She used to be a well-known young lady in Su City. A pity, really. Now she’s fallen so low. Not only did she have a child out of wedlock, but she even brought back some random bum!”

A wave of laughter immediately erupted from the crowd below.

Most people in their circle knew something about it and treated the whole affair as a joke.

Gu Yuxuan smiled as well. ”Our friends in the media have already investigated the matter thoroughly. They’ll be publishing their reports any minute now—stories about Han Biwei’s fall from grace and her fooling around with shady characters. You’ll be able to read all about it on the news on your phones in just a little while!”

All around, people from various news outlets and influencers took out their laptops and immediately started drafting their articles.

Gu Yuxuan set down the microphone and gave his father a triumphant gesture.

’Once that news gets out, it’ll cause a sensation, even if it’s fake.’

’Han Biwei is utterly finished!’

The crowd looked on with great anticipation.

Seated behind the scenes, Qin Tianxuan had watched Gu Yuxuan’s entire performance. Now, he raised a hand and shattered the coffee table in front of him.

With murder in his eyes, Battle Pavilion Wutian stepped out from the wings and gave a signal to Prince!

Prince’s eyelid twitched. He walked straight up to the reporters.

”What do you think you’re doing? We’re from Su City Television, you get it? Real journalists aren’t afraid of anything!” the head of the largest media outlet shouted, making a disdainful gesture.

Prince took a step forward, his expression savage.

”Ha! You want to hit me? In front of all these people? In front of the major media outlets? You dare? Believe it or not, I’ll make you tomorrow’s top headline!”

The bastard was really pushing his luck.

The next instant, his hair was yanked. With a SWOOSH, his head was slammed into a wooden table.

With a loud CRACK, the reporters’ table collapsed.

Prince yanked the man up by his hair and smashed his head into the second table!

After all three tables had collapsed, he pulled out his phone. ”Get me Chen Hai. Tell the director of Su City Television to get over to the Skydome Venue immediately!”

The director of the Su City station arrived in a mad rush. Before he could even speak, Prince slapped him hard across the face.

”Not afraid of anything, huh? I’m the headline, is that it? How about I send all of you to the roof first!”

With that roar, all the media personnel’s equipment was confiscated, and they were all herded out onto the balcony.

On the rooftop, amidst the howling wind, the whole group of idiots was on their knees, crying and wailing, their bodies trembling uncontrollably.

The entire venue was stunned into silence, utterly terrified.

No one could make sense of the scene, especially the director of Su City Television. He was one of Governor Chen’s trusted men! How... how was he now kneeling on the roof, crying like a child?

Gu Weiqi was already furious. He motioned to a subordinate. ”Get those thugs from South City out here to get things under control. It seems a soft approach isn’t going to work!”

A few major thugs from South City had already entered the venue, posing as bodyguards.

They now emerged from behind Young Master Gu Yuxuan, whipping off their shirts.

Their ferocious tattoos were on full display—azure dragons and white tigers!

”Heh heh, we brothers took Young Master Gu’s money, so we’ve got to say a few words!” The thugs had the classic air of the Jianghu. ”Nobody get hasty now, and don’t get angry. Anyone who wants to be disrespectful to our Young Master Gu has to get through us first!”

SWISH, SWISH, SWISH! In unison, they drew the knives hidden at their waists.

They were Butterfly Knives. With a CLATTER, they flicked the shining blades open and shut, performing flashy tricks.

Prince and his men laughed at the sight. ”Where did these morons come from?”

Just then, the sound of thundering footsteps came from outside the doors.

The big boss of South City, Yandong Mountain, appeared with a line of his men!

”Marquis, I heard you shouting from all the way outside! No need for you to trouble yourself, really. I know these guys. Let me handle them.”

Old Yama said with a grin, bowing to Prince.

Prince rubbed his head. ”Make it quick. We have a lot more to do.”

”Yes, sir,” Old Yama replied. He turned, hands clasped behind his back, and walked up to the idiots, a smile still on his face. ”How much did the Gu Family pay you?”

”B-Boss... Boss, you... you see...”

The idiots collapsed to their knees in an instant, dropping their knives in terror.

Old Yama leaned down to look at them. ”You motherfuckers. I already laid down the law. No one from South City was to cause trouble tonight. Are you all deaf?”

As he spoke, he made a gesture behind his back.

Several of his underlings came over, picked up the fallen knives, and silently pinned the idiots to the floor. With swift chops, they sliced off one ear from each of them right then and there.

Their mouths were stuffed with cotton before they could even let out a scream.

The bleeding was staunched, the floor was wiped, the men were dragged out.

The entire process was seamless and ruthlessly efficient.

Old Yama bowed once more. ”Marquis, this is a gathering for the big shots of Su City. I won’t intrude any longer. Please come visit me for tea when you have the time!”

Prince clasped his hands in a gesture of respect. ”Thanks!”

Old Yama repeatedly insisted it was his duty, then turned toward Qin Tianxuan’s position behind the curtain and gave a deep bow. He then straightened up and made a stylish exit.

The venue was dead silent.

At that moment, more footsteps were heard. The Patriarch of the Shen Family and the family’s eldest daughter, Shen Meng Jun, had arrived.
