Celestial Night Emperor

Chapter 31: Chapter 31: Su City’s Old Yama

Han Qian Jun was covered in injuries, blood still staining the corners of his mouth as he passed out.

Han Biwei was scared out of her wits, while Jiang Wan Jun was trembling so hard she sank to the ground, her face deathly pale.

Niannian started to cry, hugging her mother, at a complete loss.

The family was on the verge of huddling together and wailing.

In this bleak moment, a pair of warm, large hands reached out and pulled Han Biwei up. ”Uncle Han is fine. They’re just external injuries. Don’t panic!”

’Right, I can’t panic now!’

Han Biwei collected herself, and wiping away her tears, she was about to call for an ambulance.

”No need!” Qin Tianxuan already had his phone out and was issuing a command. ”Millennium Street, next to the hotel. Commandeer the nearest clinic. Have the Celestial Medicine Hall dispatch a medical team. Weiwei’s father has been attacked!”

He had never issued such a detailed command before. It was obvious the situation was urgent.

Lingsu, head of the Celestial Medicine Hall and one of the Night Emperor’s subordinates, personally led the team. They immediately located the nearest private clinic and commandeered it on the spot.

After Medical Hall personnel carried Han Qian Jun inside on a stretcher, Lingsu immediately began her diagnosis.

She soon breathed a sigh of relief. ”He’ll be okay. Aside from a mild concussion, there are no dangerous conditions like internal bleeding.”

’And you call that okay?’

Han Biwei became anxious. ”My dad will be okay, right? How long will he be unconscious from the concussion?”

Lingsu quickly bowed. ”Don’t worry, Madam. He will wake up in a little while. With three days of quiet rest, he’ll be as good as new.”

Han Biwei’s body went limp, and she slumped to one side, repeatedly murmuring her thanks.

She and Jiang Wan Jun stayed by the bedside while Qin Tianxuan picked up his sleepy daughter and placed her on a small bed to rest.

He turned and walked out of the clinic.

The event at the Millennium Grand Hotel had long since ended, but the building across the street was now a scene of grim authority.

The leaders of the Six Halls were all inside.

Personnel from the various major departments under the Governor of Su City, Chen Hai, had also received the news and come.

They were all deeply ashamed, standing inside the building without a word.

Qin Tianxuan strode in, slowly sat down, and uttered a single word: ”Investigate!”

Before long, a detailed report arrived from the Intelligence Hall.

”We pulled footage from four cameras at the Millennium Grand Hotel and covertly questioned several guests who were present at the time. We’ve confirmed that a total of seven people were involved in the attack!”

Qin Tianxuan’s expression was impassive. ”The full report.”

”Yes, sir! Seven people were involved. The ringleader is Wang Longhai. He was drunk at the time and injured Uncle Han with the first kick. The other six are Wang Longhai’s lackeys. Their identities, names, backgrounds, and ages have all been compiled onto a blacklist. Please give the order, sir!”

The information was terrifyingly detailed.

For each of the seven men, the report noted how they had attacked and what part of Han Qian Jun’s body they had struck.

The high-ranking officials from Su City’s local departments who were present were utterly aghast.

’It was unbelievable!’

’So this is the power of a top figure from the Battle Department?’

’It’s terrifying.’

They had dug up the family histories of Wang Longhai’s six lackeys going back generations. One little punk who had only slapped Han Qian Jun on the head was clearly noted and identified!

”Sir!” Several of the department heads approached uneasily, bowing together. ”We can handle punks like these. Why should you have to act personally?”

Qin Tianxuan said lightly, ”My daughter calls Uncle Han her grandfather. That makes the old gentleman my elder!”

At this, his gaze darkened. ”My child’s grandfather was beaten into this state. Do I need you to interfere?”

Wutian of the War Pavilion stepped forward menacingly, his expression cold and harsh. ”The Night Emperor has his own rules. You gentlemen may leave. Don’t worry, we know what we’re doing.”

The officials from Su City didn’t dare say another word, wiping the sweat from their brows as they exited the building.

The Night Emperor’s remaining subordinates were radiating killing intent. ”Sir, Wang Longhai’s Long River Property is responsible for countless evils. Should we just destroy it?”

Qin Tianxuan slowly got to his feet. ”I am no longer the Night Emperor. Our involvement will be low-key, but the punishment will be high-profile.”

Everyone stood at attention.

Qin Tianxuan raised his teacup and took a sip. ”An eye for an eye. However they beat Uncle Han, we will return it to them a hundredfold! As for the ringleader, Wang Longhai... heh.”

That one syllable sealed Wang Longhai’s fate.

The leaders of the Six Halls turned as one and started to head out. Just as they were about to take action, a Land Rover suddenly pulled up. A man with a scar on his face tumbled out of the vehicle.

The man scrambled over, ignoring the pedestrians on the street, and dropped to his knees with a THUD. ”This humble one, Yandong Mountain, greets you, my lords!”

”Hm? Who is this?” Wutian didn’t recognize him.

From behind, Prince of the God of Wealth Hall chuckled. ”This is an underground boss of Su City, Old Yama of South City. There’s a local saying in Su City: ’Better to run into a vicious ghost than to cross Old Yan.’ That’s him.”

Venerable Yuan from the Intelligence Hall remembered. ”During the great battle in Beimo, Yandong Mountain led a convoy to deliver supplies to the outer battlefield. I have a record of his contribution here!”

So it was him.

Everyone rushed to help Old Yan to his feet, clapping him on the shoulder. ”During that critical battle, your supplies were a huge help. We can be considered comrades-in-arms!”

Old Yan had never experienced such a moment of glory. He was trembling with excitement.

”My lords, I had prepared a few humble gifts for the Sir and the Young Master. On my way, I heard about what happened at the Millennium Hotel, so I’ve come to volunteer my help.”

At this, a ferocious glint appeared in Old Yama’s eyes. ”The Long River area is under my control. Wang Longhai is just a piece of trash, truly not worth you gentlemen dirtying your hands over.”

They all considered it.

Prince offered a suggestion. ”Sir is still waiting with his tea. For a small fry like this, the faster it’s handled, the better. It’s not a bad idea to have Old Yan help. After all, he’s an old friend from the Beimo battlefield.”

Wutian nodded. ”You go with Old Yan.”

After a few brief words, Old Yan’s Land Rover started up and sped directly toward Long River Street.
