Celestial Night Emperor

Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Jiangning’s Sky Has Fallen

The Imperial Capital Celestial Hall managed the affairs of Da Xia, with its various Elders working in concert.

Each Celestial Hall Elder was a figure of true power, standing at the apex of society.

Few people could command their attention, and only one person could make them answer his call anytime, anywhere.

The Night Emperor, Qin Tianxuan!

”What?! Are you sure it’s the Night Emperor, Tianxuan?” The Celestial Hall Elder in charge of the Police Department’s affairs leaped up from the sofa, threw on a tunic suit, and waved his hand. ”Bring me the phone! Pass down the order: all meetings for today are canceled!”

’What! There are six consecutive high-level meetings between the Imperial Capital cabinet and the Police Department today, and the Director isn’t attending any of them?’

The Celestial Hall Elder’s expression darkened. ”Do you need me to repeat myself?”

A secure, classified phone was brought to him.

The Celestial Hall Elder picked it up, his voice trembling with excitement. ”Tianxuan, is it really you?”

Qin Tianxuan’s calm voice came through the line. ”Elder Zhao, it’s been a while. I have a matter for you to handle.”

Three months ago, during the Celestial Demon uprising, the Northern Territory had been on the brink of annihilation. It was Qin Tianxuan who had fought for and won the peace that the entire nation now celebrated.

Such a deed, such a man... He was, without a doubt, a peerless champion of Da Xia!

The Celestial Hall Elder immediately stood ramrod straight. ”Please, give your order!”

”In Jiangning of Southern County, personnel from the Police Department are colluding with wealthy businessmen, acting as their protectors. Are you going to handle this or not?”

Ah!

The Celestial Hall Elder drew a sharp breath and asked directly, ”Who is it? The chief of the Southern County Police Department, or the chief of the Jiangning Police Department?”

The men he named were both high-ranking officials in the Police Department.

Only someone at the level of the top official in Da Xia’s Southern County would even register with a Celestial Hall Elder. He had no time to learn about those of lower rank.

However, the video Qin Tianxuan sent showed a group of men whose highest rank was merely section chief.

The Celestial Hall Elder was stunned. ”These... These low-level grunts dare to oppose you? That’s impossible, isn’t it?”

”Heh, they dare alright. In fact, their guns are pointed at me right now,” Qin Tianxuan said, his tone laced with amusement.

The Celestial Hall Elder erupted in fury.

”I’ll take care of it for you, right here, right now!”

Back in front of the Jiangning orphanage, both sides in the standoff had heard the entire conversation.

The corrupt officers from the Police Department were stunned into silence. ’Is this... is this real or fake?’

’The number one leader of the Da Xia Police Department, a Celestial Hall Elder?’

’This Qin Tianxuan can summon him with a single phone call? Not only that, but he was speaking to him as if giving orders!’

’My God, this has to be a joke, right?’

As the thought crossed their minds, the cell phones of the more than sixty Police Department members on site suddenly began to vibrate in unison.

The buzzing was deafening!

A direct order from the highest levels of the Southern County Police Department, a document stamped with a blood-red seal of authority, popped up on their screens.

”Chen Certain: Effective immediately, you are stripped of all duties. You are ordered to surrender your credentials and firearm within thirty minutes and report for confession. Failure to comply will be considered insubordination, and a county-wide warrant will be issued for your arrest!”

Mr. Chen of the Police Department, the highest-ranking of the corrupt officers on site, felt his vision go dark and collapsed to his knees.

”Wang Certain: Stripped of duties. Surrender credentials and firearm. Report for confession!”

”Stripped of duties, surrender your weapon, turn yourself in!”

All sixty corrupt officers were stripped of their positions on the spot. Not only that, but they were also ordered to turn themselves in.

Young Master Jiang just blinked and scratched his head, still in disbelief.

Meanwhile, Qin Tianxuan had already made his second call.

”Brother Qian, long time no see. It’s Qin Tianxuan.”

The head of Da Xia’s National Defense Forces, Elder Qian of the Celestial Hall!

”Brother! You’re in Jiangning? What’s going on? Just say the word, and I’ll mobilize the twelve divisions of the National Defense Forces. With over three hundred thousand troops, whoever dares to cross you, I’ll have them ground into dust!”

Elder Qian’s words were decisive, and he addressed Qin Tianxuan as a brother with great familiarity.

Qin Tianxuan replied calmly, ”I’m in Jiangning. Some of your defense force members are here, saying they want to kill me. You handle it.”

Once again, he panned his phone’s camera across the corrupt members of the defense force.

Elder Qian of the Celestial Hall roared, ”Say no more, brother. I get the picture. Give me two minutes. Those bastards will be court-martialed. I won’t let a single goddamn one of them off the hook!”

The eyes of the defense force squad leaders on site nearly popped out of their heads. They swayed on their feet before collapsing to the ground, one after another.

They didn’t even have the strength to kneel properly.

Qin Tianxuan calmly made a third call, then a fourth, and a fifth.

The Five Great Celestial Hall Elders of Da Xia.

And so, the three hundred corrupt individuals on site trembled uncontrollably, all of them wailing with tears and snot streaming down their faces.

”Mr... Mr. Qin, we... we were wrong! We really didn’t know... Who... who in the world are you?”

They still didn’t know Qin Tianxuan’s true identity, but one thing was certain: his status was so high it pierced the heavens.

This was it. The sky above Jiangning City was about to be torn asunder.

Qin Tianxuan could no longer be bothered with them, his gaze fixed on the distance.

There, a hundred armored vehicles rumbled toward them.

The vehicles screeched to a halt, kicking up clouds of dust. Governor Jiang Qianjun practically tumbled out of one and sprinted forward.

While still more than ten meters away, he dropped to his knees with a thud, prostrating himself in the dirt. ”Greetings, Night Emperor! This subordinate... this subordinate is guilty!”
