Celestial Night Emperor

Chapter 1: Chapter 1: The Night Emperor Returns

Three months ago, a hundred thousand Celestial Demons invaded Da Xia. The world was shaken, the land thrown into turmoil, and the nation teetered on the brink of annihilation.

At that critical moment, the Night Emperor Tianxuan, with his unparalleled power, tore through all obstacles and slaughtered the hundred thousand Celestial Demons in the Desert North!

By vanquishing the demons in the Northern Territory, he forged peace for the world, performed an unprecedented deed, and earned the title of Night Emperor.

In an instant, the name of the Night Emperor became known to all, and he was worshipped by millions.

As the saying goes: in all the world, who does not know the Emperor!

...

「Da Xia, Southern County. By the shores of Mirror Lake.」

Qin Tianxuan stood quietly before a lonely grave. His eyes, which had remained as still as an ancient well even when facing down entire armies and mountains of corpses, were now brimming with tears.

After seven years at war, he had quelled the chaos and secured the nation’s peace and prosperity.

But now that peace was finally achieved, he had returned home only to be greeted by the lonely grave of his wife, Ye Shuanghua!

”Emperor...”

Beside him, Venerable Yuan, the Pavilion Master of the Intelligence Hall, stood clad in black. His face was pale as he hesitated, words caught in his throat.

Under the Night Emperor’s command were six great Pavilions and nine Battle Departments.

The Intelligence Hall, in particular, was responsible for gathering information and scouting the enemy.

”Speak.”

Qin Tianxuan spun around, an overwhelming killing intent flashing in his eyes.

Before him, Venerable Yuan trembled, his expression one of terror.

He had never seen the Night Emperor look like this.

Even a few months ago, when the Night Emperor had charged into the Celestial Demon Army alone to behead its leader, his murderous aura had not been this dense.

”According to the investigation, your wife was murdered. Those involved include the Ye Family, the Divine Doctor Family from the Imperial Capital, and it seems... the Qin Family, the one known as the head of all clans...”

BOOM!

The moment his voice fell, a heaven-storming killing intent erupted from Qin Tianxuan’s body!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Across Mirror Lake, a fierce wind howled and colossal waves exploded upward, proclaiming the boundless rage in Qin Tianxuan’s heart.

He had fought for seven years, slaying countless enemies to ensure the everlasting stability of Da Xia’s lands.

But... how had Da Xia repaid him?

They said all communication from the border was forbidden to prevent military intelligence from being leaked.

They said contact with the outside world was not allowed, for fear of endangering our families!

They said! ’Just focus on fighting at the front! Da Xia will take good care of your families!’

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

’Take good care of them?’

’Is this how you take care of them?’

”KILL!!!!”

Qin Tianxuan stared toward the Imperial Capital, letting out a roar filled with overwhelming killing intent.

Instantly, the once-clear sky was blotted out by dark clouds, as if a malevolent star had descended upon the world, ready to unleash a cataclysm of slaughter!

WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

Figures appeared one after another at Qin Tianxuan’s side.

The six Pavilion Masters under the Night Emperor’s command all materialized at this moment, each kneeling on one knee before Qin Tianxuan with faces full of fanatical reverence!

”We await the Night Emperor’s command!”

In their eyes, the Night Emperor was their faith.

Wherever the Night Emperor pointed, there was the enemy!

If the Night Emperor gave the order, so what if they had to trample this land to pieces?

This nation, they could protect!

But they could also destroy it!

Just then, the communicator Venerable Yuan carried began to ring. He picked it up, and his expression changed dramatically!

”Emperor, you have a daughter! The daughter of you and your wife!”

Venerable Yuan shouted, his face a mask of disbelief.

”What?”

In an instant, Qin Tianxuan’s body trembled violently, and he snatched the communicator from Venerable Yuan’s hand.

A video was playing on the device. In it was an adorable, elf-like girl in a pink cotton dress with a pair of bright, lively eyes.

’The resemblance! It’s uncanny!’

The moment he saw the video, he knew this was his daughter, Qin Tianxuan’s daughter!

”Hey, little bastard, time to eat!”

Just then, a coarse voice came from the video, and a dark, grimy steamed bun was thrown in front of the girl.

”I’m not a bastard! I have a mommy and a daddy!”

”Mommy said! My daddy is a great hero who protects our country.”

”You’re not allowed to call me a bastard!”

The girl in the video puffed out her cheeks, clenched her little fists, and held her head high as she spoke.

”Not a bastard?”

”Who doesn’t know your mother, Ye Shuanghua, shacked up with some tramp to have you? Now your mom’s dead! And that tramp is probably dead in some stinking gutter. If you’re not a bastard, who is?”

With the CREAK of a door, the owner of the coarse voice walked toward the girl, cursing under his breath.

”No! My daddy is a great hero, and he’s not dead!”

”Mommy said! He’ll definitely come find Niannian! He’ll definitely protect Niannian!”

”Niannian will wait for Daddy! Niannian believes in Daddy!”

The girl’s eyes widened as she spoke, her sparkling eyes filled with hope.

THUD!

With a dull thud, a vicious kick sent the girl’s frail body flying, and she crashed hard onto the ground.

The next second, a heavyset, fleshy-faced man appeared in the video. He grabbed the girl by the neck and slammed her to the ground!

”Fuck! You still dare to talk back? I say you’re a bastard, so you’re a bastard!”

”Someone get me ten buckets of ice water! Let’s wake this little bastard up.”

Ice-cold water was viciously poured over the girl again and again. The color drained from her pale little face, and her tiny body trembled in the freezing cold. In the blink of an eye, she was on the verge of death.

The man choked the girl, lifting her up to his face. He gritted his teeth and snarled, ”Say it! You’re a bastard!”

”Niannian... has a daddy!”

”Niannian... is not a bastard!”

”Daddy... is that you...”

”Niannian thinks she can see you...”

”Am I finally... going to meet you...”

A blissful smile suddenly appeared on Niannian’s pale, frozen face before she slowly closed her eyes.

”Huh? Fuck! Playing dead now, are you?”

”Someone get her! Take her straight for dissection! See what parts on her can be sold for money!”

...

The video ended there.

By Mirror Lake, a dead silence had fallen long ago.

In that moment, an endless rage built up in everyone’s heart.

The Night Emperor had poured his heart and soul into Da Xia.

But now he returns to find his wife murdered, his daughter beaten unconscious, and about to be dissected for her organs?

”AHHHHHHH!!!!!!”

”DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE!!!!”

At that moment, the six Pavilion Masters roared at the sky!

But Qin Tianxuan, in contrast, had grown calm.

However, the six Pavilion Masters knew that beneath that calm was a rage powerful enough to shatter mountains and rivers!

”Where is my daughter.”

The calm voice, devoid of any emotion, still sent a shiver through the hearts of the six Pavilion Masters, men who were accustomed to mountains of corpses and seas of blood.

That voice was like the whisper of death itself—terrifying.

”Night Emperor, the Young Master... is at an orphanage on the outskirts of the city... That orphanage... according to our investigation... abuses children... and traffics human organs... Their crimes are too numerous to count...”

Qin Tianxuan took a deep breath, turned, and walked toward the helicopter behind him.

Just before he left, he said one thing: ”Relay my order to the nine Battle Departments...”

”Return through the pass!”

BOOM!

Instantly, the six Pavilion Masters’ eyes widened in terror.

Under the Night Emperor’s name were a total of six Pavilions and nine Battle Departments.

The six Pavilions each had their own duties.

But the nine Battle Departments commanded vast armies and stood guard over the Desert North.

One could say that the nine Battle Departments were Da Xia’s protective shield, the pillars of the nation!

As long as the nine Battle Departments stood, no enemy army could take a single step into Da Xia.

But now...

The nine Battle Departments were returning!
