Naruto: Reborn as Konoha's Idol

Chapter 98: Chapter 98 Jiraiya held his palm out

”Catch, this is a Water Balloon.”

”What’s this for?”

”This is a prop for the Ninjutsu I’m about to teach you. Watch closely; I’ll demonstrate it once.”

Jiraiya held his palm out. As Chakra continuously gathered, a rapidly spinning sphere of Chakra appeared. He turned and struck a tree—

”Rasengan!”

The violently spinning Chakra sphere shredded and carved. By the time the spinning Rasengan vanished, a large hole had been gouged into the tree, and it promptly toppled over.

”Did you see that clearly?”

”So cool! I want to learn it!”

”This is the Ninjutsu I’m going to teach you next. Kano, if you’re interested, you can follow along too.”

Kano, who had accompanied Naruto to the mountains for training, was actually looking for a good place to do her own practice. As she laid out a mat, she looked over upon hearing Jiraiya mention her.

”Rasengan? Like this?”

Kano held out her hand, and a spinning blue sphere of Chakra gathered in her palm.

This gave Jiraiya quite a fright.

”Where did you learn such a high-level Ninjutsu? None of the people you know should know this technique!”

”Don’t underestimate my information network. Does a Ninjutsu that doesn’t require hand seals even need someone to teach it? You can learn it just by figuring it out yourself. I’ve known the Rasengan for a long time.”

”Then why haven’t I seen you use it before?”

”Yeah, I haven’t seen Kano-chan use it either.”

Naruto chimed in. He had just thought this Ninjutsu was so powerful and wanted to learn it to protect Kano-chan, but he didn’t expect her to already know it.

”That’s because this Ninjutsu doesn’t suit me; it consumes too much Chakra. I’d run out of Chakra after using it two or three times. Using this kind of power as an ultimate move is honestly a bit of a waste.”

The Rasengan is suitable for those with ’Ton-kra.’ For the same amount of Chakra consumption, my own secret technique, the Shadow Palm Suppression Technique, is much more powerful than the Rasengan.

”So this Ninjutsu isn’t actually that great.”

Hearing Kano dismiss the technique, Naruto instantly lost interest. If Kano didn’t use it, it obviously wasn’t anything special.

”That’s not true. This technique doesn’t suit me because my Chakra reserves are low. But since you have a lot of Chakra, if you learn it, this technique will become your basic attack. It’s the most suitable Ninjutsu for you.”

”Then I definitely have to learn this Ninjutsu!”

Since Kano-chan said this technique suited him, he absolutely had to master it!

”Well, since you’ve already learned it, Kano, go ahead and do your own thing. I’ll start teaching Naruto.”

”Mhm, you two go ahead. I have my own training to do.”

Taking off her shoes, her jade feet in white silk stockings stepped onto the oversized picnic mat. She took out a pen and began making revisions in a notebook, occasionally picking up her guitar to try playing a few notes.

She was also trying to complete a System mission. The mission reward was ’Illusion,’ an ability that could turn Genjutsu into reality. It could be used not only in battle but also to save people.

However, this mission was also extremely difficult: composing an original S-rank song. This level of difficulty was incredibly high. Even among pop music from her previous life, very few could reach S-rank.

In terms of composition alone, Kano didn’t dare to be so arrogant as to think she could compete with professional musicians. She planned to take an unconventional path and use music-based Genjutsu to boost the song’s rating.

She had confirmed with the System that this approach was a valid method.

After Jiraiya finished explaining the basic essentials to Naruto, he came over to Kano’s side.

”Are you writing a song?”

”Yes.”

”As expected of the konoha songstress. You can still create such beautiful songs while training in Ninjutsu.”

”Thanks for the compliment, but I’m a little stuck right now.”

”Oh? Something can actually stump you? Let’s hear it.”

”I want to make a song that makes people feel incredibly happy when they hear it. I wanted to ask for your reference—in what kind of environment would you feel incomparably happy?”

”Me? Let me think... it would probably be being surrounded by cute young girls—”

”Get lost!”

Before he could even finish, Kano summoned Shadow Deer Tube to kick Jiraiya away.

”I shouldn’t have asked an old pervert like you!”
