Naruto: Reborn as Konoha's Idol

Chapter 87: Chapter 87 A person covered in bandages

”Sorry, I’m late...”

A person covered in bandages, looking extremely weak, limped to the venue while clutching a wound.

”Hayate...”

Yūgao, who was about to leave, saw her lover who was supposed to be dead. She even wondered if she was under a Genjutsu.

”Yūgao, I’m back. I was seriously injured before, which delayed me for quite some time...”

”You idiot! Do you know how worried I was about you?”

The tears that had just dried flowed again, but these were tears of joy.

”Sorry for making you wait. I was able to come back alive this time thanks to Nara Kano. She risked her life to take me away when I was heavily injured and used her family’s secret medicine to barely save my life.”

”If it weren’t for her, I’m afraid I wouldn’t have seen you again.”

The Nara family was originally a pharmaceutical-related clan, so it was normal to have some slightly outrageous life-saving medicine. This was also Kano’s excuse for hiding Karin.

”Then we must go and thank her properly.”

”Yeah, let’s prepare some gifts and choose a good day to visit and thank her.”

”I’ll listen to you.”

”There’s one more thing I want to tell you. When I was about to die, I realized that the only thing I couldn’t let go of was you. This attack made me realize how much I fear losing you. I want to be with you forever. Will you marry me?”

Faced with one surprise after another, Yūgao had already thanked the heavens countless times. Her pretty face flushed slightly; this was exactly what she wanted. Her eyes began to sparkle.

”I do!”

Kano didn’t notice this side. She planned to stay home and study the music-based Genjutsu she got from Tayuya; these could be considered secret techniques.

Secret techniques are different from Bloodline Limits. For example, others could learn the Nara family’s secret techniques, but they kept them hidden from outsiders, and others didn’t look highly upon their secret techniques. Bloodline Limits are innate skills that others cannot learn.

Naruto had already left, and Kano was about to leave too, but a taciturn person approached her.

”Kano, you said that man would return after the Chunin Exams ended. Where is he now?”

”Calm down first. You can’t beat him right now. Let me think... he is indeed in Konoha Village right now. But I’m not quite sure of his exact location yet. Let me look for him first; I’ll call you when I find him.”

The Akatsuki uniform should be quite eye-catching. If she saw them, she might as well go up and say hello.

These days, there were many commissions to help repair Konoha Village, and Ninjas had also joined the civil engineering brigade to start building houses. Kano didn’t join the fray; she was currently working hard on composing music, combining scores with those music Genjutsu, as well as the scroll Genjutsu: Hell Viewing Technique - Modified given by Kakashi.

However, this was not something that could be completed overnight.

An A-rank Ninjutsu (recorded as A-rank in the databook, but Jiraiya said it’s S-rank) like the Rasengan took a genius like Minato Namikaze three years to complete. For her own S-rank musical piece, spending a month or so wasn’t long.

For Kano, the composing part wasn’t very difficult; it just required time. The most important part was the Genjutsu aspect.

However, Kano didn’t just stay cooped up at home all the time. She often went out for walks to find inspiration, singing songs to encourage the villagers along the way.

”Karin hasn’t left the house in a long time. I should buy her some tasty food. She just needs to endure a bit longer; once Tsunade returns, I can ask Tsunade to arrange an identity for her.”

She visited several shops, buying Strawberry Daifuku, potato chips, basically buying a little of whatever she passed by. The shop owners were very polite, saying they were Kano’s fans and wouldn’t take money, but Kano didn’t lack that little bit and insisted on paying properly.

”A Dango Shop, the taste is good. I’ll buy some to eat too.”

The greedy Kano ordered two servings of dango: one to go and one to eat on the spot. She poured a cup of hot tea and sat in the small shop to enjoy it slowly.

”I’m digging in.”

Just after she finished one skewer, two more customers entered the shop. They also ordered two servings of dango and tea. Kano was quite surprised; she didn’t expect to run into them here.

Red clouds on black robes, and even wearing bamboo hats. The Akatsuki’s outfit was so suspiciously obvious—how had they not been taken away by the guards?

System, help me take a few photos. I plan to forge a set of Akatsuki robes to play with later.
