Naruto: Reborn as Konoha's Idol

Chapter 78: Chapter 78 Sasuke formed hand seals again.

However, it might also be due to Chakra consumption; not everyone is like Kano, whose exclusive Ninjutsu doesn’t consume Chakra.

In the third match, Kankuro faced Rock Lee, and Kankuro surrendered directly.

In the fourth match, Choji fought Shino, and Shino was slightly superior.

The final match.

It was the battle between Kano and Sasuke.

Kano still wore her cute performance outfit, her twin-tails swaying as she took the stage. Sasuke, on the other hand, had changed into black clothes and looked even cooler.

Sasuke smiled at Kano and said:

”You must understand me, right?”

”Yeah, I’ll give it my all. You’d better be careful.”

Sasuke had wanted to fight Naruto for a long time, and he wanted to fight Kano even more.

When they first teamed up, he thought they were both dead weights who would only hold him back. From their first cooperation, his opinion of Kano began to change.

She went from being a dead weight to someone weak but with a tactical mind, then to a comrade-in-arms with perfect coordination, and finally to ’Holy crap, how is she this strong!’

Of course, his opinion of Naruto had also changed.

From a dead weight loser to a coward who only caused trouble, then to a stubborn love-struck idiot, and finally to an idiot who was about to catch up to him.

Kano also knew that Sasuke was working much harder than in the original timeline. In the original, he was always number one and had his pride. But now he knew Kano was stronger than him, and by more than just a little, yet someone as strong as Kano was so humble. He had to cast aside his Uchiha arrogance and work twice as hard to prove he was still the genius Uchiha!

So Kano planned to use Shadow Deer Tube to deal with Sasuke.

As the others retreated to the spectator seats, the referee Shiranui announced the start, and both of them formed hand seals simultaneously.

”Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!”

”Water Release: Water Encampment Wall!”

A giant fireball crushed the ground as it rushed toward Kano, while a wall of water suddenly rose from the waterless ground in an attempt to intercept it.

Before the outcome of this clash was decided, Sasuke leapt into the air and threw several shuriken.

”Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Fire Technique!”

This attack was swift and fierce. Kano didn’t have time to block, so the Shadow Deer protected her, using its large water pipe to knock away the Phoenix Sage Fire shuriken.

The next moment, a thick mist began to appear in the surroundings. Sasuke also realized that Kano was using Shadow Zabuza; he smiled to himself, knowing Kano was indeed going all out.

Sasuke formed hand seals again.

”Wind Release: Great Breakthrough!”

The mist, which hadn’t even fully gathered yet, was blown away by Sasuke’s Wind Release.

”Sasuke, you even learned Wind Release!”

”I learned this specifically to deal with you. There’s more than just this move coming later.”

Sasuke was showing great respect to his opponent this time. He knew Kano’s weaknesses: she had a small amount of Chakra and relied on Shadow Ninjas; if he could get close, it would be over.

So Sasuke’s tactic was to use his own vast Chakra reserves to force Kano into a Ninjutsu bombardment. Then he would wait for an opportunity to close in and subdue her with Taijutsu.

Sasuke started with Fire Release again, planning to wear Kano down from a distance. Suddenly, Shadow Haku’s Ice Mirrors emerged, and several senbon were fired, forcing Sasuke to interrupt his Ninjutsu and dodge in a panic.

”Water Release: Wild Water Wave!”

Kano also seized the opportunity and formed hand seals. A jet of water as sharp as a blade was spat from Kano’s mouth. Sasuke, unable to dodge in mid-air, could only form seals to continue the Ninjutsu clash.

”Water Release: Water Trumpet!”

Puffing out his belly, he spat out a large amount of water in one breath. This water not only buffered Kano’s Wild Water Wave but also used the recoil to help him avoid vital spots, though his shoulder was slightly injured.

”Not bad, you actually dodged that. Then how about this move!”

”What?!”

Standing in the distance, Shadow Zabuza had already formed 44 seals, and a Water Dragon Bullet was ready to be launched.

Sasuke hurriedly formed seals and slammed both hands on the ground.

”Earth Release: Earth-Style Wall!”

A wall of earth, not particularly sturdy, rose up.

”A wall of this level won’t be able to stop a Water Dragon Bullet!”

”It’s more than that, just watch! Earth Release: Water-Dividing Wall!”

Sasuke released Chakra into the wall again, and the entire wall seemed to fold over, changing from an ’I’ shape to a ’
