Naruto: Reborn as Konoha's Idol

Chapter 51: Chapter 51: Thrashing Kankuro

The arrogant Kankuro grabbed Konohamaru by the collar and lifted him up.

Kankuro?! It seems the Chunin Exams are approaching. Never mind that for now; saving Konohamaru is the priority.

”I’m sorry, the child accidentally bumped into you. I apologize on his behalf.”

Kano stepped forward and apologized respectfully. These people would be friends in the future; there was no need to cause trouble now.

”I told you to stop. Watch out, or you’ll get scolded in a bit.”

Temari, standing nearby, also tried to persuade him, though she wasn’t afraid of Konoha, but of Gaara.

”Hey, let him go already!”

Naruto also wanted to save Konohamaru, but Kankuro glanced at Naruto’s headband.

Hmph, so these guys are the Genin of Konoha.

”Before any annoying guys show up, let’s play with you for a bit.”

Seeing that he still wouldn’t let go of Konohamaru, Naruto charged forward with his fists swinging. Halfway there, he was controlled by Kankuro’s Chakra threads and tripped.

”What was that just now?!”

”What? Konoha’s Genin are so weak.”

Thinking that less trouble is better than more, Kano stepped forward again to mediate.

”This was our fault. Please release the child first, and we will offer a formal apology.”

”I really hate bratty kids. Even though he’s younger than me, he’s so arrogant. I feel like completely destroying him.”

Kankuro narrowed his eyes at Kano and gave a malicious grin.

”You’re that diva, right? I hear your name everywhere; you’re quite famous. If you strip naked and apologize on your knees, I might consider letting him go.”

Several anger veins instantly popped on Kano’s head.

This bastard dares to insult me! And humiliate me like this! Even if Gaara comes today, no one can protect you!

Seeing Kano humiliated, Naruto was filled with rage and was about to attack Kankuro.

Kano’s shadow began to fluctuate, and five Ninjas jumped out, followed by a mist that began to envelop the area.

Several senbon attacked Kankuro from various angles. To defend himself, he had to release Konohamaru. Immediately after, flying chains dragged Konohamaru back.

With Konohamaru saved, Kano planned to give Kankuro a thorough beating.

When fighting Shikamaru, she had to hold back for fear of killing him, but when fighting someone from another Village, if they died, they died.

Kano rarely used Taijutsu, usually only against Shikamaru, but for someone with such a foul mouth, she truly wanted to give him a few punches herself.

She rushed forward to coordinate with Haku and quickly suppressed Kankuro. Seeing he was no match, Kankuro was about to use his puppet, but Kano wouldn’t let him succeed; she pulled out her hunting flute and smashed his puppet to pieces!

”You dare!”

”What of it? You’re the only one allowed to be arrogant? Today, I’m going to teach you a lesson! Anyone who dares to help him, I’ll beat them up too!”

Kano pinned Kankuro to the ground and thrashed him. His body was covered in senbon, and Kano had to aim for the spots without needles to stomp on him. She raised her foot high, aiming the heel of her high-heeled shoe to grind into Kankuro’s face, which was covered in markings.

”I’ll teach you to watch your mouth!”

Her heel stomped down hard, the blunt heel pressing into his cheek.

”Aaaaaahhh!!!!”

”Kankuro!”

Temari wanted to step forward to help, but Shadow Haku instantly blocked her path. She pulled out her three-star fan, preparing to use Wind Release to blow away both the person and the mist.

However, Shadow Haku’s Bloodline Limit was still superior, keeping Temari completely suppressed.

Sand appeared out of nowhere to protect Kankuro.

”Stop it.”

That haughty tone must be Gaara’s voice. But this time, no one could protect Kankuro—not even if Gaara had come.

Gaara’s current strength was great, but there were limits to that strength. Otherwise, why wouldn’t Kano have used Shadow Zabuza just now?

The silent kubikiribōchō instantly shattered Gaara’s Absolute Defense. With one strike, it knocked Gaara, who was hanging upside down from a tree, to the ground, hitting him like a ball! Gaara’s Shield of Sand was fine for defending against Genin, but against Zabuza’s kubikiribōchō, it wasn’t exactly like paper, but it wasn’t much harder than slicing a melon!

”I said, anyone who dares to help him, I’ll deal with them too.”

Seeing even Gaara pinned to the ground, Temari felt a sense of dread and hurriedly pleaded for mercy.

”We’re sorry, konoha songstress! We failed to recognize your greatness! It was our fault!”

She glared at Temari, then looked at Kankuro under her foot, grinding the flesh under her heel once more.

”Do you know what you did wrong?”

”I know, I know I was wrong! Please spare me!”

Kankuro’s words were now slurred because Kano had opened a hole in his cheek. He didn’t dare resist anymore; the fierce gaze made it impossible for Kankuro to even think of fighting back. If Kano wanted to, killing Kankuro would only take an instant.

Only Gaara was still struggling to resist, but as long as he dared to move, Shadow Zabuza would give him a slash, making it impossible for him to even crawl up.

”Now you know how to beg for mercy? What were you doing earlier? I gave you chances, more than once. What did you do when I apologized to you just now? I lowered myself to apologize first; if you had just accepted it, this wouldn’t have happened.

To dare to be so arrogant in someone else’s Village, you really aren’t afraid of death. I hate foul-mouthed brats like you the most.”

Seeing Gaara being beaten on the ground, Kankuro couldn’t even imagine how terrifying this person truly was.

”Don’t say I didn’t give you a chance. How much are you willing to pay for this guy’s life? If I’m satisfied with the price, I’ll let him go. If not, he dies right here.”

These words shocked everyone present! Even the rescued Konohamaru was startled.

How could she dare to kill someone in the middle of the street! Wasn’t she afraid of a war breaking out between Konoha and Sunagakure?

”You think I don’t dare?”

Kano summoned her hunting flute and slammed it down heavily on Kankuro’s hand!

”Aaaaaahhh!!!!”

”Even if I kill you all here, do you think Sunagakure would dare to go to war with our Konoha Village for a few pieces of trash? Believe it or not, even if I kill you, Sunagakure Village will end up being the one to apologize!”

Kano’s threatening words weighed heavily on Kankuro. Temari was also terrified and immediately took out her wallet and threw it toward Kano.

”This is all the money we have. Please let him go!”

Kano opened the wallet and checked; it was quite a bit, though still less than what she got from raiding Gato.

”Do you think his life is only worth this much?”

Seeing that Kano was unsatisfied, Temari searched her person but couldn’t find anything valuable, so she had to take out her three-star fan.

”This is my Ninja tool, the three-star fan. It’s worth a lot. I hope it can be traded for his life.”

Temari really loved her brother; she even brought out her signature weapon.

”Fine, I guess this will do. You should be grateful I’m not short on sacrifices right now, or else none of the three of you would survive today.”

After finishing her threat, Kano stepped off Kankuro. Shadow Haku and Shadow Zabuza also released Temari and Gaara.

Of course, Kano was only pretending to be fierce; she wouldn’t actually kill them. After all, Temari was her future sister-in-law; she was just giving them a lesson.

Gaara still wanted to attack, but Temari risked her life to stop him.

”You guys can go.”

A terrified Temari helped Kankuro up and quickly left, with Gaara following close behind, not forgetting to leave a parting threat.

”konoha songstress, I’ll remember you!”

”Big Sister Boss, Big Sister Boss is so cool!” ”I want to be as cool as Big Sister Boss too!” ”So... so strong...”

”Hmph, of course. Since you call me Big Sister Boss, I have to look out for you. But remember, don’t go looking for trouble, but don’t be afraid of it either. If you can’t win, call me. There aren’t many people in the entire Konoha Village who can beat me now.”

The Three Little Ones looked at Kano with stars in their eyes, full of admiration.

This Big Sister Boss was usually so gentle, kept her word, and would stand up for them when they were in danger. Where else could they find such a great boss?

”Boss, compared to Big Sister Boss, you’re really pathetic.”

Konohamaru began to look down on Naruto. Although his big brother also stood up for him, he was just too weak. Naruto also began to argue and bicker with Konohamaru.

Kano noticed Sasuke arriving in a tree and waved to show that everything was fine. Sasuke nodded and left. Kano then looked in the direction Gaara had left and couldn’t help but sigh.

The Chunin Exams... time really flies. There should be many outsiders now, a perfect time to gain more fans and popularity points~
