I Return From Hell

Chapter 165: Chapter 158: Breaking the Stalemate

A Resentful Corpse!

The ghost is inside the Resentful Corpse!

Xia Yu figured everything out in an instant and knew the key to breaking the stalemate. She immediately gave the order, ”Little Flower, attack the ghost inside the Resentful Corpse.”

”It’s no match for you!”

”As long as you can suppress it, you can interfere with the Resentful Corpse’s attacks and weaken its combat power.”

BUZZ.

Little Flower did as she was told.

Instantly, Yin Qi filled the air.

Just as Xia Yu expected, there was an Evil Ghost inside the Resentful Corpse.

”AHHH!”

What’s more, it was completely suppressed and soon let out a bloodcurdling scream.

After devouring the Yin Qi of the scholar and the Ancient-dressed Woman, the Yin Qi within Little Flower had reached a whole new level. Its sheer volume alone was enough to crush this Evil Ghost, which was otherwise extremely skilled at manipulating Yin Qi.

In that moment,

the Evil Ghost’s control over the pajama-clad Resentful Corpse weakened, causing the corpse’s combat power to drop.

The pressure on Little Flower lessened considerably.

The tide of battle quietly turned.

”AHHH!”

The Evil Ghost was smart. It knew that if this dragged on, not only would it fail to get the massive amount of Yin Qi inside Little Flower, but it would be killed by Little Flower instead.

So, it decisively gave up control of the Resentful Corpse, but it didn’t leave the corpse’s body.

By doing this, it could both unleash the Resentful Corpse’s full combat potential and ensure it wouldn’t be harmed by Xia Yu’s Blood Butterfly or oral organ.

Killing two birds with one stone!

’This is bad.’

Seeing this, Xia Yu’s expression changed slightly.

This move was the opponent’s best option, but it wasn’t good for her side.

The tide of battle shifted once more.

BANG.

BANG.

...

The Resentful Corpse controlled by Little Flower was completely suppressed. The sound of cracking bones was incessant, and even the resentment within its body was being forcibly plundered and absorbed by its opponent!

Moreover, because the Evil Ghost was inside the pajama-clad Resentful Corpse, Little Flower couldn’t quickly take control of it by latching onto its face.

Little Flower wanted to quickly finish off the Evil Ghost to break the stalemate.

Unfortunately,

the Evil Ghost wasn’t stupid.

It focused completely on Defense, giving it an impenetrable feeling. There was no way Little Flower could kill it in a short amount of time.

In contrast, the Resentful Corpse controlled by Little Flower wouldn’t last much longer before being completely destroyed by the pajama-clad one!

Killed!

SWOOSH!

Xia Yu hesitated no longer. She decisively charged forward and joined the battle.

To help share the pressure!

BANG!

...

Wielding the Blood Butterfly, Xia Yu drew upon her strength as a First Grade Spiritual Ability Realm cultivator and her vast combat experience to cause the pajama-clad Resentful Corpse a great deal of trouble.

But...

a Resentful Corpse has no weaknesses.

How could killing it be easy?

She couldn’t even create an opportunity to chop off one of the pajama-clad Resentful Corpse’s arms or legs to reduce its combat power.

Because, in the current state of the battle, Xia Yu and Little Flower were still at a disadvantage.

They had no initiative!

’The key to breaking this isn’t the Evil Ghost.’

Xia Yu quickly made a judgment.

Because even if they killed the Evil Ghost, Little Flower still wouldn’t be able to control the pajama-clad Resentful Corpse!

The pajama-clad Resentful Corpse was too strong. If Little Flower dared to latch onto its face, it would inevitably be torn to shreds.

Besides, the pajama-clad Resentful Corpse still had its lingering obsession!

Even if it didn’t tear Little Flower to shreds, it would be impossible for Little Flower to control it!

But Xie Chengyong was already dead. How could she break the pajama-clad Resentful Corpse’s obsession?

WHOOSH!

She suddenly thought of the cleaner outside the room.

Although this woman wasn’t the source of the pajama-clad Resentful Corpse’s obsession, who knew if the corpse held any hatred for her?

If the pajama-clad Resentful Corpse killed her, would some of its resentment dissipate?

And would that cause its strength to decrease?

Even a ten percent drop in strength might be enough for Xia Yu and Little Flower to find an opportunity to counterattack.

Even if the pajama-clad Resentful Corpse killed the cleaner and its resentment didn’t decrease, it wouldn’t matter. Xia Yu and Little Flower could use the hotel’s terrain to their advantage in a running battle.

They could look for an opportunity to break the stalemate.

In any case, they couldn’t let this drag on any longer.

Having figured this out, Xia Yu didn’t hesitate at all.

”Withdraw!”

She and Little Flower smashed through the window together, leaping from the fourth floor.

A Resentful Corpse isn’t afraid of falling.

Besides, with Little Flower’s power, a fall from the fourth floor was nothing.

For Xia Yu, the height of the fourth floor was even less of an issue.

BUZZ.

It was worth noting that even as Xia Yu and Little Flower fell, Little Flower was still attacking the Evil Ghost inside the pajama-clad Resentful Corpse.

This was Xia Yu’s order.

Although she didn’t know how the Evil Ghost was controlling the pajama-clad Resentful Corpse, she knew that this ’control’ wasn’t absolute.

The basis for this judgment was clear from how the pajama-clad Resentful Corpse had attacked Xie Chengyong on its own initiative earlier, instead of immediately attacking her and Little Flower.

When faced with a person it held a grudge against, the pajama-clad Resentful Corpse would regain control of its body and act according to its own obsession and instincts.

Therefore...

she had Little Flower attack the Evil Ghost to interfere with its control over the pajama-clad Resentful Corpse.

Let the pajama-clad Resentful Corpse act on its own obsession.

Sure enough,

Xia Yu’s calculations were right again!

SWOOSH.

The pajama-clad Resentful Corpse hesitated for a moment, but ultimately chose not to pursue Xia Yu and Little Flower. Instead, it charged straight down the fourth-floor corridor.

Who was still alive there?

The cleaner!

At this moment, she was completely unaware of the approaching danger. She was laughing and crying, looking utterly unhinged.

With years of hatred finally vented, there wasn’t a trace of resentment left in her. She felt incomparably relieved, but her life now had no purpose.

Suddenly,

she felt the will to die.

She felt that living had no more meaning.

Looking up, she saw Xiao Xuan—that monster that was neither human nor ghost!

”You...”

Just as the cleaner was about to say something,

BANG!

the pajama-clad Resentful Corpse’s fist smashed the cleaner’s head to a pulp.

Dead!

BUZZ.

Instantly, the pajama-clad Resentful Corpse’s resentment dropped by ten percent.

!!!

Xia Yu’s eyes lit up, and she immediately charged back into the hotel without hesitation.

Soon,

the two sides clashed again.

This time, both Xia Yu and Little Flower could clearly feel that the pressure had lessened significantly.

In a battle between experts, a ten percent fluctuation in strength has an absolutely massive impact.

Thus,

although Xia Yu and Little Flower were still at a disadvantage, they now had a chance to fight back.

”Help me!”

Xia Yu didn’t want to waste any more time and decided to trade injuries.

Only...

the injury on her side would be taken by Little Flower!

SWOOSH.

Little Flower shot forward, disregarding the damage, and was sent flying by a kick from the pajama-clad Resentful Corpse.

At the same time, Xia Yu seized the opportunity to close the distance, easily plunging the Blood Butterfly in her hand into the pajama-clad Resentful Corpse’s shoulder.

THUD.

The pajama-clad Resentful Corpse’s right arm fell to the floor.

BAM!

Its left fist then flew out, but Xia Yu crossed her arms over her chest and forcibly blocked it.

CRACK.

A faint cracking sound came from her arm bones.

But Xia Yu’s expression didn’t change. She slammed heavily into the desk behind her, shattering it. It felt as if her back was about to break, yet she showed no sign of injury.

Pushing off with her legs,

she shot forward once more,

straight toward the pajama-clad Resentful Corpse.

Without its right arm, the pajama-clad Resentful Corpse instantly lost its oppressive power.

The two sides were now evenly matched.

「Three minutes later.」

The same scene played out again.

This time, Xia Yu severed the pajama-clad Resentful Corpse’s right leg. And this time... Little Flower took a punch without falling, and Xia Yu dodged the Resentful Corpse’s attack.

From this, it was clear that the pajama-clad Resentful Corpse’s combat power had declined drastically.

The outcome was decided.
