Entertainment: Wanted to Acquire the Company on the First Day of Signing

6: Resources were blockedSu Jixing took a look at the video and was stunned. Wasn’t this Lu Qingyu? The video showed the scene of him playing and singing on the plaza the night before last.

He hadn’t expected Chen Ting to like it so much.

”Boss, you also think he sang well?”

Chen Ting immediately replied, ”Of course. This song has a style all its own; it’s simply too good to listen to.”

Chen Ting couldn’t hide his excitement when talking about that song.

”Do you have something? If it’s not urgent, wait until I send someone to find this young man. I’m afraid if I’m too late, someone else will poach him.”

As Chen Ting finished speaking and made a move to leave, Su Jixing stopped him.

”Boss, no need to go. This young man is already an artist at our company.”

Chen Ting: ??? ”What? When was he signed!”

Su Jixing: ”He’s the artist I just signed yesterday. I specifically brought him to meet you today.”

Chen Ting found it unbelievable. Such a coincidence? He hadn’t noticed at all when he was approving the documents yesterday.

Only then did Lu Qingyu slowly step forward.

”Hello, Boss.”

Chen Ting finally took a careful look at Lu Qingyu, who was standing beside Su Jixing.

With one look, he immediately felt this kid was not simple. Setting aside how good-looking he was—with fair, translucent skin and deep, well-defined features—his bone structure was absolutely photogenic. He had a fashionable air about him, and looking closer at his pupils, they were actually deep gray.

Most importantly, the natural temperament he exuded was definitely cultivated from a prominent and wealthy background.

He looked completely different from the young man in the video—the one in a short-sleeved shirt and shorts with a head of yellow hair, looking like a street punk who hadn’t had a full meal in half a month.

Chen Ting was still a bit skeptical: ”You’re the young man from the video?”

Lu Qingyu didn’t feel nervous at all under Chen Ting’s scrutiny; he remained calm and composed.

”It’s me.”

Upon hearing Lu Qingyu’s answer, Chen Ting immediately asked eagerly, ”Then what is that song you sang called? Who wrote it?”

Lu Qingyu said, ”That song is called ’orchid pavilion preface,’ and I hold the copyright.”

Chen Ting was overjoyed to hear this. Having a background in music, he couldn’t help but get excited when encountering a good song. Hearing that the copyright was in Lu Qingyu’s hands, he instinctively assumed Lu Qingyu had created it and immediately regarded him as a kindred spirit.

Chen Ting was too enthusiastic; he hovered around Lu Qingyu asking questions about everything, nearly digging up his ancestral history. Lu Qingyu instantly felt a bit of pressure.

Chen Ting wanted to chat more, but a secretary suddenly came to remind him of a small meeting. Chen Ting then remembered his meeting with Xu Dongcai and said to Su Jixing, ”Take him for a tour of the company first. I’ll come over after the meeting.”

Su Jixing nodded, and Chen Ting left for his meeting.

Su Jixing took Lu Qingyu on a tour. Black Pearl Entertainment’s business had only two aspects: signed singers and signed actors.

On one hand, they invested in and released albums; on the other, they invested in filming movies, dramas, or variety shows. Su Jixing introduced the company’s main businesses to Lu Qingyu and then brought him to Black Pearl’s most famous celebrity wall.

Six large, same-sized photos hung on the wall, while others were small photos packed into a single section, arranged by the year they joined the company. These six people on the wall were all famous figures in the industry now.

For example, Cheng Wenyin, an A-list film and television actress, and Lyu Xinnan, a famous singer, etc.

Su Jixing introduced them to Lu Qingyu: ”You recognize these people, right? They’re all very well-known. These are your seniors; you might even run into them at the company in the future.”

Lu Qingyu looked at the handsome men and beautiful women in the photos and nodded. Very good, he didn’t recognize a single one.

”Then what’s this over here?”

Lu Qingyu pointed to another wall where small, palm-sized wooden boards were hanging. There were words written on them with markers; it looked like a wishing tree.

Su Jixing said, ”This is the wishing tree. For every newly signed artist, on their first day, we have them write their future goals on it.”

Lu Qingyu did a rough count; there were no fewer than a hundred boards. This meant at least a hundred artists had been here, but those who finally realized their dreams were probably only the few on the wall. This showed how cruel the entertainment industry actually was.

Just as Lu Qingyu thought, Su Jixing sounded a bit regretful when talking about this. Many people persisted for five or six years, or even ten, only to end up quitting.

”In here are also the goals Cheng Wenyin and the others wrote down when they first joined the company.”

Su Jixing pointed out several small wooden boards with gold-rimmed edges to Lu Qingyu.

Having said this, Su Jixing took a new wooden board and a marker and handed them both to Lu Qingyu.

”Since you’re here, go ahead and write down your goal.”

The wishes here were mostly the same: some wanted to become superstars, some wanted to be professional singers, and some said they wanted to film a representative work. Su Jixing thought Lu Qingyu’s would be similar.

After Lu Qingyu finished writing, he hung up the board. Su Jixing curiously turned the board over to see what Lu Qingyu had written. He wanted to see if Lu Qingyu preferred acting, singing, or being a triple-threat artist. As a result, when he saw the words, Su Jixing almost rolled his eyes.

The board was covered in small, densely packed characters that looked very organized.

”Buy Black Pearl within one year.”

”Make the entertainment company number one in the country within two years.”

”Become a real estate tycoon within three years.”

”Enter the top ten of the Forbes list within five years.”

Su Jixing knew these wishes could be written casually, but not *this* casually.

When other artists wrote these, regardless of how big the goals were, they were at least related to their profession. But Lu Qingyu? Buy Black Pearl?

I’m fucking trying to help you become a star, and you fucking want to be my boss!

And entering the Forbes top ten! Others wouldn’t even dare to dream that!

Lu Qingyu looked at what he had written and even nodded solemnly: ”Mm, reasonable.”

In his previous life, he had built the family business into the Forbes top eighteen, but that was because his health was poor and he didn’t have much room to maneuver. In this life, with a healthy body, he couldn’t possibly do worse than before.

Su Jixing: ”I couldn’t tell, you’re not old, but your ambition is quite large.”

Lu Qingyu gave him a look of kingly disdain: ”Do you know why Xu Dongcai hasn’t taken you seriously all these years?”

Su Jixing’s eyes widened. Lu Qingyu actually knew about Xu Dongcai?

”How do you know about Xu Dongcai?”

Lu Qingyu: ”The two Diamond Agents of Black Pearl Entertainment. A quick search online reveals a ton of stuff about you two.”

Su Jixing: !!!

”Then tell me, why doesn’t he take me seriously?”

Lu Qingyu: ”Because you have no ambition, though your ability is decent. Xu Dongcai has ambition, but his ability is slightly inferior to yours.”

Su Jixing: ---You’re quite the analyst.

Lu Qingyu’s video fermented overnight. The video of the ’little yellow hair’ playing and singing at Murad Plaza was reposted extensively. For a time, #Murad Little Yellow Hair# went viral.

Many people from entertainment companies also set their sights on Lu Qingyu. They even went to the plaza to wait for him, but unfortunately, they were a step too late; Su Jixing had already beaten them to it.

The contract Su Jixing signed with Lu Qingyu mentioned providing him with A+ grade works. He thought of an A+ grade film and television drama his company had invested in, ’bronze sparrow bridge.’ When they first invested, it was agreed that the role of the male third lead would be reserved for an artist from Black Pearl Entertainment.

Many people had their eyes on this choice piece of meat. Su Jixing hadn’t fought for this resource before because he had no artists, but now that he had Lu Qingyu, he was determined to snatch it.

One of the reasons for coming here today was to ask Chen Ting for this resource.

Unfortunately, they were too late. Chen Ting had just been in a meeting with Xu Dongcai and Lu Jin, and he had already agreed to give this resource to Lu Jin.
