Entertainment: Wanted to Acquire the Company on the First Day of Signing

53: Another diveThen, everyone in the livestream witnessed a real-life version of Temple Run.

Two minutes later, Lu Qingyu stopped once he felt he had done enough. The group of parkour youths followed closely behind; unlike Lu Qingyu, they were exhausted and panting like dead dogs.

Xiao Wei was impressed. His parkour skills were among the best in the team, and it had been a long time since he’d met a worthy opponent, but this kid today was truly something else.

”Buddy, you’re really something.”

Xiao Wei gave Lu Qingyu a thumbs up. Lu Qingyu wiped the sweat from his forehead, not forgetting his main job: ”It’s nothing, really. It’s mainly because these shoes are comfortable; it feels like flying when I run.”

Xiao Wei and the others looked at Lu Qingyu’s shoes; they actually looked quite good.

”Brother, where did you buy these shoes?”

Lu Qingyu: ”They’re a new release from Freedom, only 299.”

Honestly, Xiao Wei and his group were genuinely sold on them.

”So cheap? I’ll go buy a pair tomorrow. This pair on my feet cost 699, and they’re not even that great.”

Lu Qingyu: ”The insoles in these are high-tech—breathable, lightweight, and they don’t chafe. They’re definitely worth getting.”

Lu Qingyu naturally slipped in an advertisement. This time, the people in the livestream were truly interested in the shoes, curious if they really gave a ”flying” sensation.

Sun Yiru and the others were riding small electric scooters. Since vehicles weren’t allowed inside the park entrance, they had to stop and go in on foot to find him.

The number of viewers in the livestream had already reached 2.7 million. Sun Yiru felt breathless when she saw the messages sent by the backend team.

The sales of these shoes had surpassed one hundred thousand!

For a moment, Sun Yiru even doubted if what she was seeing was real.

Damn, where was Lu Qingyu? Where was this ancestor? They absolutely had to treat him like a god today.

Su Jixing finally arrived at this moment. Sun Yiru greeted him, and Su Jixing hurried over. They asked the park security where the livestreaming spot was and immediately headed there.

Lu Qingyu chatted with Xiao Wei and the other parkour youths for a bit. Xiao Wei felt they really hit it off.

Lu Qingyu’s skill level was better than theirs. It just so happened that there was a spot in the park where many of them had failed a challenge; they could let Lu Qingyu give it a try.

”Buddy, your skills are great. Want to try a challenge at a certain spot?”

Lu Qingyu smiled and turned to look at the young man who had followed him: ”Sure.”

Xiao Wei led Lu Qingyu to the other side of the canal and pointed downward.

Looking down from the canal bridge, about four meters below and five meters away from the edge, an iron pillar stood in the water. On top of the pillar was a small platform only large enough for two feet.

No one knew what the iron pillar was for. Someone had previously started a challenge, saying that whoever could jump from the bridge onto the pillar would get five thousand yuan.

For the sake of the five thousand yuan, about thirty or forty people had come to try the challenge, but they all failed.

Afterward, more and more people came to check in and attempt the challenge, but basically no one succeeded.

The parkour youths pointed at the spot and asked Lu Qingyu, ”Buddy, do you dare to try?”

Lu Qingyu set up his livestreaming equipment on the bridge, and everyone saw the iron pillar.

”Are you kidding? That’s impossible.”

”Where did these kids come from? They’re so wicked, trying to egg our little brother into jumping into the river.”

”Little brother, don’t be foolish. You can’t agree to this. Just leave.”

”Lu Qingyu, do it! Do it!”

”If you jump down from here, I’ll buy ten pairs of shoes.”

Lu Qingyu saw a comment from a user named ”Gentle Young Master” and immediately asked, ”If I jump, you’ll buy ten pairs? For real?”

Gentle Young Master: ”I’ll eat shit if I’m lying.”

Lu Qingyu: ”Then you’d better keep your word.”

Su Jixing and Sun Yiru grew anxious as they watched this segment on their phones. This wouldn’t do; it was far too dangerous.

That pillar was so far from the bridge, and the landing spot was tiny. Setting aside whether one could even reach it, even if they did, there was nothing to hold onto. Once someone launched themselves, their momentum would carry them right into the water.

Xiao Wei: ”Our Lao Wang here has tried it eight times and is quite experienced. I’ll have him set an example for you.”

The person Xiao Wei called Lao Wang stepped out from the group: ”Alright then, I’m going.”

Lu Qingyu turned the camera lens, and everyone saw Lao Wang take a dozen steps back on the bridge, take two deep breaths, and then dash forward with a ’whoosh’.

Then, everyone saw Lao Wang actually land on that platform, but like a dragonfly skimming the water, he didn’t stay at all. Instead, he crashed into the water with a loud ’thud’.

Lao Wang falling into the water seemed to be a common sight to everyone.

Xiao Wei: ”See that? When you fall, try to keep your body as vertical as possible to reduce the surface area. That way, it won’t hurt as much when you hit the water.”

Lu Qingyu: !!! So he was teaching him how to fall into the water properly.

”LMAO, I told you it’s impossible to stay on top.”

”Falling into water really does require skill. A belly flop would probably hurt a lot.”

”These ’Filipino athletes’ are experienced. Why not ask them for some pointers?”

”Little brother, don’t try it. How is this any different from diving?”

Lao Wang had already swum back up. He shook the water off his body: ”Well? Can you do it? Do you know how to swim? If not, I’ll wait in the water for you.”

Lu Qingyu: ”Thanks, but no thanks.”

On Lu Jin’s side, the number of viewers in the livestream suddenly plummeted by more than half, leaving fewer than six hundred thousand people.

Lu Jin frowned and gestured to the person in charge behind the camera, telling him to quickly find out what was going on.

Over there, everyone scrambled to investigate. A minute later, Lu Jin made an excuse to get a drink of water and stepped away from the frame. The person in charge showed him Lu Qingyu’s livestream page.

”Lu Qingyu is going to perform a dive. Everyone has gone to Freedom’s livestream.”

Lu Qingyu currently had two hot search topics on Weibo. One was #Lu Qingyu Jumped Off a Building#.

The other was #Lu Qingyu is Going Diving#.

Now, it wasn’t just fans going to Lu Qingyu’s livestream; a massive wave of passersby was flooding in as well.

Lu Jin frowned as he watched the livestream on an employee’s phone, seeing Lu Qingyu chatting with a group of people in the park.

They were saying he was going to jump off the bridge.

Lu Jin was speechless: He really is a clown, even willing to dive into the water just to grab attention.

But go ahead and jump. It would be best if he knocked himself unconscious in the water; then he would no longer be a threat.

Sun Yiru never expected that the viewership in Lu Qingyu’s livestream would surpass three million.

Seeing that the viewer count was sufficient, Lu Qingyu said, ”Then, I’ll begin.”

Cameraman Brother, Su Jixing, and Sun Yiru finally spotted Lu Qingyu. He was already about to jump. While Sun Yiru and the others could still run toward him, Cameraman Brother couldn’t; he immediately set up his equipment to film.

Equipment worth several million was indeed superior; even from over a hundred meters away, everything could be seen clearly.

Lu Qingyu handed the selfie stick to Xiao Wei: ”Help me film this.”

Xiao Wei took the selfie stick and adjusted the camera: ”Don’t worry, I’ll definitely capture your entry into the water beautifully.”

Lu Qingyu nodded and then loosened his ankles. He estimated the distance and, like Lao Wang had done, retreated seven or eight steps to take a starting stance.

.

Sun Yiru and Su Jixing had just reached the bridge, but before they could shout, it was already too late. At that moment, Lu Qingyu launched himself like a cannonball.

Su Jixing and Sun Yiru stared with wide eyes at the figure rushing out. Xiao Wei and his group were holding their phones with smiles on their faces, but the moment Lu Qingyu launched, their smiles turned into shock.

Damn, he stuck the landing!

And he even did a flip in the air.
