Entertainment: Wanted to Acquire the Company on the First Day of Signing

84: Chapter Opportunity”Damn, the boss came to audition in person; I believe this production crew is definitely a good one.”

”I’m not worried at all about this crew pulling any under-the-table tricks. If even the boss has to follow the process to get a role, it’s absolutely fair.”

”Since Lu Qingyu is the boss of Qingcheng Entertainment, why is he working as an employee for Black Pearl? Is he undercover?”

Zhou Fang listened to the people around him, feeling uneasy. Everything had happened too suddenly; just a moment ago he was about to be kicked out, but the next, there was an ultimate plot twist.

The young man he had been chatting up was Lu Qingyu, and even more bizarrely, he was the boss of Qingcheng Entertainment. This twist had come completely out of nowhere.

After the Assistant Director was kicked out, it didn’t cause any harm to Qingcheng Entertainment. The director and the Assistant Director had only been paired up temporarily anyway. For the director, as long as there was someone there, it was fine; who that person was didn’t really matter.

The auditions continued, and Wang Ning took Lu Qingyu to the office.

Lu Qingyu’s visit this time was sudden. Wang Ning assumed Lu Qingyu was doing a surprise inspection to check on his work and didn’t think about auditions at all.

”Boss, you should have given a heads-up. The staff isn’t all here today; some are on leave or taking time off. If I’d known you were coming, I would have had them stay at the company to meet you.”

Lu Qingyu: ”No need for that much trouble. As far as they are concerned, as long as the company offers good treatment, that’s enough. Who the boss is doesn’t really matter.”

Wang Ning laughed heartily. He hadn’t expected those words to come from Lu Qingyu’s mouth, but they were surprisingly insightful. This was the advantage of a young boss—he had a clear head.

Unlike those bosses who think they are superior and spend all day gaslighting their employees, preaching about working hard and promising not to mistreat them, while not raising salaries for years and finding various excuses to deduct performance bonuses.

Wang Ning: ”Boss, let me show you around the company.”

Lu Qingyu checked the time; Su Jixing was still waiting for him downstairs. ”No, I’m here to audition. I have other work after the audition.”

Wang Ning: ”??? Audition? Which audition?”

Lu Qingyu: ”destined lover.”

Wang Ning: ”---Boss, you’re really joking.”

The entirety of Qingcheng Entertainment belonged to Lu Qingyu. To put it bluntly, as long as Lu Qingyu wanted to, they could custom-make a film or television series for him, let alone this specific production.

Wang Ning didn’t believe him, thinking Lu Qingyu was joking. But when Lu Qingyu took out his audition material for the male third lead, Wang Ning was stunned and began to stutter.

”Ah, this, you... Boss, do you have some sort of hidden reason for this?”

Lu Qingyu was also left between laughter and tears: ”You might not believe me if I told you, but I didn’t even know it was my own production before I auditioned.”

Lu Qingyu explained a little, and after listening, Wang Ning slapped his thigh.

”I knew it! So that’s what happened.”

”Boss, I’ll tell the director to save the Male Lead One role for you.”

Lu Qingyu shook his head. ”That won’t do. This is Qingcheng Entertainment’s first A-grade production; I can’t ruin my own company’s work.”

Whether a work is good or not ultimately depends on its quality. Even if his own popularity could make the show a hit, if the acting wasn’t up to par, the show would just be a flash in the pan.

”Just give me a supporting role. It’s my first time acting, so I need to hone my skills.”

Wang Ning understood what Lu Qingyu meant and gave a thumbs up: ”As expected of the boss, you’re clear-headed. Leave this to me.”

Seeing that it was about time, Lu Qingyu stood up and said, ”Since that’s the case, I won’t audition. Just arrange a role for me as you see fit.”

Wang Ning: ”Alright, Boss, leave it to me.”

Lu Qingyu was about to leave. Before doing so, he remembered Zhou Fang. He hadn’t spent much time with Zhou Fang, but seeing the research he had done on his character, he knew he must be someone very serious about acting.

”There was an actor named Zhou Fang with me today. Tell the director to take a good look at him; I think his acting should be quite good.”

Wang Ning: ”Zhou Fang? Alright, Boss, I’ll tell the director to take a good look at him.”

Lu Qingyu didn’t directly tell Wang Ning to pull strings or guarantee a specific role for Zhou Fang. He had done a lot of charity in his past life, but not in this way. He was giving Zhou Fang an opportunity, but the final result depended on Zhou Fang himself.

Lu Qingyu went downstairs. Su Jixing had been waiting for nearly an hour and was a bit surprised to see Lu Qingyu coming down.

He thought it would take at least two hours.

”Why are you down so quickly?”

Lu Qingyu: ”Yeah, things were mostly done, so I came down.”

Su Jixing: ”How do you feel? What was the director’s reaction? Any chance?”

Lu Qingyu: ”There’s a chance. I’ll definitely be selected.”

Lu Qingyu was confident, and Su Jixing breathed a small sigh of relief.

”That’s great. As long as you have confidence, let’s go.”

After Lu Qingyu left, Wang Ning looked at the character list for destined lover. Since the boss didn’t want to play Male Lead One, he would choose from the male lead two, the male third lead, or the fourth male lead.

The male third lead was quite likable, but the role had little screen time. He had to take care of his own boss.

Wang Ning compared the roles in destined lover several times and finally decided that the male lead two was best suited for Lu Qingyu—a seemingly ordinary, psycho, perverted CEO.

Considering this was Lu Qingyu’s first time acting, Wang Ning naturally wanted to find a role with high compatibility for the boss.

Although this psycho CEO was always going against the male lead, because of the character design, he had the best costumes and the best makeup and styling in the show.

Wang Ning directly reserved the male lead two role for Lu Qingyu.

After making the decision, Wang Ning returned to the audition site. The actor on stage was performing passionately.

Wang Ning looked at the list—Zhou Fang? Wasn’t this the one Lu Qingyu had just mentioned?

Since the boss recommended Zhou Fang, he should take a good look at what level of acting this Zhou Fang could reach.

Once Zhou Fang stood on stage, he began to perform, completely lost in his role. His acting foundation was very solid; the three-minute performance was very smooth, and the director couldn’t help but nod after watching.

After performing, Zhou Fang stood on stage feeling uneasy. Seeing the director and the Producer whispering to each other below, he became even more nervous.

The normal procedure was that after the auditioning actor finished their segment, the director or Producer would nod, and they could leave and go home to wait for news.

Seeing that neither the Producer nor the director said anything, as if they had forgotten about him, Zhou Fang felt there was no hope. He bowed and prepared to exit.

Just as his body bent down, Wang Ning suddenly said, ”Zhou Fang, I’ll give you a scenario; do a performance.”

The Producer personally giving him a prompt—Zhou Fang felt excited in an instant. This meant he had a chance!

The director or the Producer must think he was capable, which was why they were giving him a chance to test his acting skills. If they weren’t interested in him, how could they waste time?

Zhou Fang’s hands were shaking with excitement. ”Alright, Teacher, please give me the prompt.”

Wang Ning gave Zhou Fang a scenario, and Zhou Fang thought for less than ten seconds before he began his performance.

This time, Wang Ning observed carefully; Zhou Fang’s acting was indeed quite good.
