Entertainment: Wanted to Acquire the Company on the First Day of Signing

92: Su Jixing’s RevengeRegarding the online comments about Lu Qingyu’s National College Entrance Exam, Su Jixing felt that talking big wasn’t going to cut it. Such threats would require Lu Qingyu to score at least 500 points to back them up, but it was unlikely he could reach that score. Still, he couldn’t just let others mock Lu Qingyu like this.

So, Su Jixing settled for the next best thing and had the legal department issue a lawyer’s letter first.

This was Su Jixing’s favorite department; the legal team the company hired with a high salary every year had to make it worth every penny.

As for Xu Haokai, Su Jixing wouldn’t be polite. What he hated most was people stabbing others in the back. Since you’re using our artist’s National College Entrance Exam as a talking point, I’ll use your artist’s terrible films as one.

However, Su Jixing didn’t have people give Xu Haokai’s work low ratings; instead, he had them give him high ratings.

Originally, Xu Haokai’s work had a score of 5.8. Su Jixing mobilized his resources, and in less than a day, it surged to 6.6.

But the consequence of doing this was that three lives fate trended on hot search topics because the score rose too quickly.

Seeing their idol’s stats improve, Xu Haokai’s fans thought it was due to public popularity and took the opportunity to boost their idol’s score as well.

By evening, three lives fate had reached 7.3.

At this point, a work that only a few people considered a flop became known to the majority.

At first, Xu Haokai’s Agent thought it was the fans’ doing. He felt that boosting the score a bit was fine, at least to keep the work above a passing grade and avoid getting a Golden Broom Award at the end of the year.

But when the score rose to 6.6, Xu Haokai’s Agent felt something was off; it was rising too fast.

However, it was already out of control by then, and there’s a saying called ”hitting rock bottom and bouncing back.”

The hashtag #three lives fate bad film# was already trending on hot search topics, with a large number of netizens complaining about the drama.

[Production costs were three hundred million, and this is what you show me?]

[When I saw three lives fate, I thought it was a newly released film, but I didn’t expect it to be eighteen episodes in.]

[What a flop, totally boring. The actors’ expressions are stiff. Such a terrible work getting a 7.3—it’s obviously fake.]

[Xu Haokai’s side must have boosted the score themselves. How does he have the nerve to insult people’s eyes with such a bad film, and then have the gall to boost the score?]

[I only came to watch because the rating rose so fast and I thought it was good. After watching, I just want to tell everyone that this score is unreasonable and ridiculous.]

[Even though they’re both playing rich people, this one looks like a nouveau riche.]

Netizens felt cheated and began frantically giving three lives fate low ratings. By around six in the evening, when Xu Haokai’s Agent finally realized what was happening, it was too late; countless negative reviews and low scores flooded in.

By past eight o’clock, three lives fate only had a 4.3 rating left. They were frantically busy trying to delete comments.

Su Jixing was very satisfied seeing this score. He was determined to send them to the Golden Broom Award this year.

Xu Haokai’s management company held an emergency meeting. It wasn’t easy to cultivate an artist, and they didn’t want this public outcry to affect Xu Haokai’s future.

Before the meeting, Xu Haokai’s Agent, Yang Ge, was called into the office for a private talk.

The Manager frowned and asked Yang Ge, ”What’s going on? I heard someone deliberately set this up.”

Yang Ge had a cocky expression on his face, looking like a street thug about to go out and hack someone for revenge.

”Manager, I’ve found out. It’s Lu Qingyu’s Agent. I’m definitely going to teach him a lesson.”

Looking at Yang Ge’s thuggish appearance, the Manager suppressed his anger. Yang Ge had only been an Agent for three years. He was a relative from the Manager’s hometown. No matter how many times the Manager told him about his image, it was as if he hadn’t heard a word.

Because an artist’s Agent is privy to a lot of private information, companies choose either relatives or very professional Agents.

Su Jixing was definitely the latter, while Yang Ge had only become an Agent through connections.

Yang Ge had an arrogant nature and loved to brag. After becoming an Agent, he became even more insufferable.

He thought that in this circle, as long as you had connections, you could go anywhere and do anything. He didn’t realize at all that there was a group of people in this industry who had reached their current positions through their own abilities, with a level of professionalism that someone like him couldn’t match.

When the Manager heard Su Jixing’s name, his forehead tightened. Although Black Pearl wasn’t a particularly large company, it didn’t mean Su Jixing wasn’t famous.

He was someone who had produced superstars through his own professional skills.

”Su Jixing? Why would he suddenly make things difficult for Xu Haokai? As far as I know, the artist Su Jixing is managing now is Lu Qingyu, and none of our artists have any interaction with Lu Qingyu.”

Speaking of this, Yang Ge got even angrier and even slapped the table. ”Manager, it’s because that damn kid stole the heat from Kaizi’s Penguin hit drama. That’s why Kaizi’s drama flopped.”

”I couldn’t stand it, and I heard through the grapevine that Lu Qingyu was going to take the National College Entrance Exam, so I had some hot search topics sent his way.”

After hearing this, the Manager’s head throbbed. Damn it, this Yang Ge was an idiot.

He knew that a powerful figure like Su Jixing wouldn’t pick a fight with someone for no reason; his reputation in the industry was excellent.

It turned out his own artist had started the trouble first.

This time, it was the Manager’s turn to be so angry he couldn’t speak.

”You, you—”

”Don’t you know the quality of Xu Haokai’s drama? You picked such a rotten script as an Agent and even dared to sign the contract behind my back. I was the one who lowered myself to negotiate with Penguin to get heat for this drama, just so you wouldn’t lose too badly.”

Yang Ge had accepted a large bribe from the production side, so he took the risk of bypassing the Manager’s review. He thought that since he was the Manager’s relative, the Manager couldn’t do anything to him anyway.

Yang Ge said self-righteously:

”Manager, don’t worry. Leave this to me. I’ll take care of Su Jixing.”

At this point, ”angry” wasn’t enough to describe the Manager’s state.

”What do you want to do?”

Yang Ge said, ”Su Jixing screwed me over like this, I’m definitely going to retaliate.”

The Manager’s blood pressure soared. He grabbed the documents next to him and threw them at him.

Yang Ge was stunned.

The Manager pointed at Yang Ge’s nose and cursed, ”You’re damn proud of yourself, aren’t you?”

”Do you even know who Su Jixing is?”

”If our company had even one Su Jixing, do you think you’d still be an Agent?”

”In terms of professional ability, he’s your ancestor.”

Yang Ge was given a harsh scolding by the Manager. After the scolding, Yang Ge was still a bit defiant.

”Manager, we don’t need to be afraid of Black Pearl, do we?”

The Manager was fuming. ”Am I afraid of Black Pearl? I’m afraid of Su Jixing, you idiot.”

With Su Jixing’s connections and ability, he could wipe out all the artists in their company.

The Manager knew Yang Ge was an idiot and didn’t want to waste any more words on him.

”Tell those people giving Lu Qingyu negative comments to stop immediately. Never provoke Su Jixing again.”

Yang Ge was dissatisfied. ”So we’re just going to let it go?”

The Manager replied, ”What else do you want? Would you be happy if Su Jixing destroyed Xu Haokai?”

Xu Haokai wasn’t a decent person either. The Manager knew he had done a lot of things behind the scenes that wouldn’t stand up to scrutiny. If they annoyed Su Jixing, he could easily ruin Xu Haokai’s reputation completely.

The Manager added, ”And I’m warning you, if Xu Haokai’s secret dating scandals cause losses for the company, you’re both finished.”
