Entertainment: Wanted to Acquire the Company on the First Day of Signing

54: Chapter Shocking! The entire audience watched Lu Qingyu in shock; Xiao Wei couldn’t help but scream in excitement.

”That’s freaking awesome, man! You’re incredible.”

”You actually dared to add a backflip? That was so flashy!”

”I’m posting this to my moments; someone actually succeeded in the challenge.”

The crowd all took out their phones to post to their moments.

When Lu Qingyu saw Old Wang try the jump, he knew the biggest reason for everyone’s failure was the inability to control the body’s inertia. Adding a backflip might seem dangerous, but it actually helped dissipate some force in mid-air and redirected the inertia downwards, allowing for a stable landing.

Easier said than done, though; who would dare try this without some real skills?

Especially since the landing spot on the Iron Pillar was so small; no one could guarantee such precision.

Su Jixing was scared witless by the time he arrived. He pointed at Lu Qingyu, not knowing what to say.

”You—you—are you crazy?”

Like a little stone lion at a company entrance, Lu Qingyu squatted obediently on the Iron Pillar with a grin on his face.

”Brother Su, you’re here.”

Su Jixing still hadn’t recovered from his anxiety. He paced back and forth, wanting to scold Lu Qingyu, but seeing the Cameraman Brother and the livestream equipment, he finally held back.

Sun Yiru felt dazed by the pleasant surprise. Although Lu Qingyu’s behavior was a bit reckless, their livestream viewership had surpassed four million after his jump!

She had thought the livestream would end dismally, but she never expected this sudden windfall of immense fortune.

A large crowd had gathered on the Canal bridge, including many onlookers.

Only then did Xiao Wei and the others realize that Lu Qingyu seemed to be a celebrity.

The viewers in the livestream room were sending gifts frantically.

”666! I’ve never seen a celebrity work so hard as a streamer. Incredible!”

”Ahhh, our little brother is a treasure! Stashing him away, stashing him away!”

”Help! That jump just now totally slayed me. I’m officially a fan now.”

”So handsome! My heart has been completely captured by that jump.”

”Little brother’s Parkour is truly professional. I know that bridge; many people have failed the challenge. He’s amazing.”

”I’m curious, though: now that he’s jumped there, how does he get back?”

People within the Freedom Group were also monitoring the progress of the event. When Pinno started their livestream, Freedom’s viewership dropped. Several people whose proposals were rejected alongside Sun Yiru’s began to mock her.

”Lu Qingyu’s status is still too low. What did I say? Viewership didn’t even reach a million, and Pinno’s livestream snatched a lot away. If they had chosen my proposal, we would have surpassed a million long ago and wouldn’t be suppressed so hard by Pinno.”

”I don’t know what Sun Yiru was thinking, choosing Lu Qingyu. Who is this guy? Is he related to someone in our group?”

”I haven’t heard anything, but his background probably isn’t simple. How could he get famous so fast without backing?”

”If you ask me, our CEO is too young. Even if Lu Qingyu looks good, she shouldn’t just look at his face.”

”The event data is so poor; let’s see how Sun Yiru explains herself when she gets back.”

While the employees were gossiping outside, the manager heard them and, after a moment’s thought, headed for the CEO’s office.

Freedom’s current CEO, Yang Yutong, is 29 years old and took over from her father two years ago.

The manager knocked and entered, showing the livestream data to Yang Yutong.

”CEO, Pinno is competing directly with us, so the data here doesn’t look good. Lu Qingyu’s fan base is too small; I’m afraid we’ll lose money on this endorsement.”

Since Yang Yutong took office, she had implemented many internal reforms, which hurt the interests of many people.

The manager had been with the company for nearly thirty years and was a veteran. When the Old CEO Yang was about to pass the position to Yang Yutong, many people protested, and this manager was one of them.

Their thought was that the company could change bosses to one of the veterans like them, rather than letting a girl under thirty manage them.

Unfortunately, the Freedom brand was not publicly listed, and the Yang family held absolute control. The Old CEO Yang merely informed them; he didn’t seek their opinions.

Sun Yiru’s proposal was approved by her, and Su Jixing had personally come to show his sincerity. Yang Yutong felt there was nothing wrong with her decision.

Although Lu Qingyu’s status wasn’t high, Yang Yutong had seen the records; it took him less than two months from entering the industry to becoming a sensation. This was something few could match.

If they didn’t use Lu Qingyu now, they probably wouldn’t be able to afford him once he became even more famous.

The value of ’adding flowers to a bouquet’ is quite different from ’sending charcoal in a snowstorm’.

Yang Yutong wasn’t like the old fogeys in the company; she trusted her own vision and was good at investing early.

However, today’s livestream was indeed underwhelming. None of the data targets were met, and Freedom’s new product line failed to make a splash, which indeed affected the company.

The moment the manager walked in, Yang Yutong had already rolled her eyes in secret. This old guy coming now certainly wasn’t here to comfort her.

Sure enough, the manager prattled on in front of her for a while.

”CEO, I suggest reconsidering the spokesperson. The celebrities mentioned in the other proposals from the Planning Department are quite good. Why don’t we contact them?”

She had closed the livestream on her phone when the manager entered, focusing on dealing with this Manager Ye.

”Today is only the first day of the event. It’s too early to make a decision.”

Hearing this, Manager Ye calmly produced another set of documents. He had anticipated her response and showed her the data from every previous new line launch at Freedom.

”CEO Yang, we should make plans early. You haven’t been here long, so you don’t understand; every past event of the company was very successful, with all targets met even on the first day.”

”Lu Qingyu’s endorsement data is still mediocre at this point, clearly lacking momentum. For the sake of the company, we must plan ahead.”

The manager was implying that Yang Yutong was inadequate as a CEO. Yang Yutong wasn’t stupid; she could hear it.

She liked Lu Qingyu, but she had to prioritize the company’s interests. These people were already dissatisfied with her, and now they were seizing on any little thing. Yang Yutong found it difficult to deal with these veterans who had worked with her father.

Seeing her expression, the manager wanted to teach Yang Yutong a lesson, letting this young girl know that managing a company wasn’t that simple.

The manager kept pressuring Yang Yutong with his words. Being young, she was starting to feel a bit overwhelmed.

Their conversation lasted for nearly half an hour, making Yang Yutong increasingly anxious.

Just as Yang Yutong was about to give in, a Staff Member knocked. Without waiting for her permission to enter, someone from the Marketing Department rushed in with a look of surprise.

”CEO, our sales have surpassed 200,000!”
